I Became a Digimon and Change Worlds Every Month

Chapter 4: Angewomon Learning Magic

The dark counterpart of Angewomon is undoubtedly LadyDevimon—this is an established fact.

That iconic slap scene is unforgettable.

But why would her corrupt evolution turn into Zombieman Satan Mode or Myotismon instead?

If anything, those two should be fallen evolutions of Seraphimon, not Angewomon.

The Nature of Digivolution

Unlike Pokémon, Digimon evolution follows a networked pattern.

A dragon could evolve into an angel.

An angel could become a dragon.

It all depends on emotions, experiences, and environment—evolution in Digimon is extremely flexible!

But even with flexibility, her corrupt evolution shouldn't be this off-track.

There had to be a reason.

Moss thought to herself:

"Could it be because I have the mindset of a man?"

That was the only difference between her and a normal Angewomon.

If so, that would explain why her corrupt evolutions were more masculine—turning into Zombieman Satan Mode or Myotismon.

She glanced at both options again and decided:

"I'm not evolving."

The chance of failure was 80%.

And if she failed, she'd devolve into a Garbagemon or Numemon—

Returning to her original world like that would be a death sentence.

Even success wasn't great—she'd turn into Zombieman Satan Mode or Myotismon.

Neither of which she wanted.

If it were an Ultimate-level Digivolution, she might consider it.

But both of these were still Perfect-level Digimon, meaning even successful evolution wouldn't necessarily make her stronger—

And worse, it would affect her ability to blend in within the Fairy Tail world.

So between failing or succeeding, she chose not to evolve at all.

Mastering the Digital Soul

Splash—

Moss stepped out of the bathtub, water droplets trickling down her smooth skin.

She grabbed a towel and wiped herself dry.

As she lowered the towel, a white energy aura suddenly ignited around her—

It looked like flames, but upon closer inspection, it was filled with countless 0s and 1s.

This was the Digital Soul!

In Digimon Savers (Data Squad), Digital Souls were a human power used to help Digimon evolve.

Since Moss was both a human and a Digimon, she realized—she could also release the Digital Soul.

The warm energy emitted by her Digital Soul evaporated the remaining moisture on her skin.

Once fully dry, she deactivated the Digital Soul and slipped back into her Angewomon outfit.

Sitting on the bedside, she gathered the Digital Soul into her palm.

"If I master the Digital Soul, even if I can't evolve to Ultimate, I should still be able to enhance my power…"

However, the boost was only around 30%.

In Digimon Savers, Kurata's Gizmon could easily annihilate an Ultimate-level Digimon like Goldramon.

Moss, as a random background Angewomon, even with a power boost, wouldn't stand a chance.

"I still need to learn magic."

She leaned back onto her bed and fell asleep shortly after.

Learning Magic

The next day, after washing up, Moss, Mirajane, Lisanna, and Elfman met up and had breakfast at Fairy Tail.

Then, they approached Makarov, who was drinking at the bar.

"Guild Master, please teach us magic!"

Makarov put down his drink and hopped off the counter.

"Follow me."

He led them to the guild's library.

"Since none of you have studied magic before, we'll start with the basics."

The first step was learning to sense and control magical energy.

"Magic is not a miracle—it is the 'energy' that flows within us."

"When this energy synchronizes with the natural world, it manifests as magic."

"Magic requires concentration—not just of the mind, but of the soul!"

As he spoke, Makarov picked up a magic textbook and began explaining.

"Regardless of whether it's elemental magic, soul magic, or space-time magic—it all follows the same core principles."

"Master this, and all magic will be within your grasp."

Then, he handed the book to Moss.

"Study this book. If you have any questions, feel free to ask me."

Moss took the book, opened it, and said—

"Guild Master, I have a question."

"Already?!"

Makarov was shocked.

"She found a problem that fast?! What an incredible intellect! No wonder she's an angel!"

Moss then calmly stated:

"I can't read this."

"..."

Makarov's eye twitched.

The real reason he gave Moss the book first was because she looked like a responsible adult.

But she turned out to be a literal illiterate.

"She's an angel… but a dumb angel."

"I'll read it!"

Mirajane quickly volunteered, taking the book and reading aloud:

"Chapter 1, Section 1: To control your magic power, you must meditate…"

Following the instructions, Moss, Mirajane, Lisanna, and Elfman found a quiet space in the library, sat cross-legged, and closed their eyes.

They focused on feeling the flow of energy within their bodies.

This energy was their magic power.

The First Breakthrough

After ten minutes, Mirajane suddenly opened her eyes in excitement.

"I can feel it!"

Lisanna and Elfman, hearing their sister's voice, also opened their eyes—

But they hadn't sensed anything yet.

"Does that mean we don't have talent?"

The two began to doubt themselves.

Makarov reassured them:

"Don't worry—Mirajane had already awakened Take Over Magic, so for her, sensing magic is as easy as breathing."

"It's different for you two."

Hearing this, Lisanna and Elfman regained their motivation and continued meditating.

Their quick recovery showed they had natural talent.

Three Days Later

This was Moss's fourth day in this world—she had 26 days left before she had to return.

On this day—

Lisanna and Elfman finally sensed their magic power!

And Moss felt something too.

However—

She didn't feel one energy source.

She felt two!

But she was certain—neither was magic power.

One was her Angewomon Holy Energy.

The other was her Digital Soul.

There was no magic at all.

In Earthland, where Fairy Tail existed, magic power filled the atmosphere.

Every person born here had magic power—some had too much, making them frail.

Some had too little, leaving them unable to become wizards.

But Moss was an outsider—not native to this world.

She had no magic power at all.

By logic, meditation should've been pointless.

But she persisted.

Because—

[Name: Moss][Species: Digimon · Perfect Level · Free-Type · Angel Digimon · Angewomon][Abilities: Celestial Arrow, Heaven's Light, Healing Light, Digital Soul, Magic Power][Evolution Path: Corrupt Evolution][Time Until Return: 26 Days]

That morning, a new entry appeared.

She finally had magic power.

It must have come from breathing, eating, and adapting over the past few days.

It wasn't much, but—

If she could control it, it meant she had earned her ticket into magic.
