Hunter X Hunter: The Strongest Assassin Of The Zoldyck Family!

Chapter 67: Chapter 67: Environmental Combat Genres – Begins!

"Master, what is this?"

The old man shot him a fleeting glance but didn't answer.

"Continue your training, guest," the old man instructed calmly.

"Yes, teacher," he replied, bowing slightly.

The old man ushered Kaizen and Lina into a small wooden cabin, closing the door behind them with a dull thud.

"Sit," the old man said.

There were no stools in the cabin, so Kaizen settled cross-legged on the floor without complaint.

"What exactly is the situation?" the old man asked, his gaze flickering between them.

Kaizen gestured for Lina to remove her cloak. She hesitated for a moment but obeyed, shrugging it off with a slight shiver.

The old man's eyes narrowed as he scrutinized Lina, his expression sharpening for the first time.

"Whose idea was this?"

"Lina's father—Carlisle."

The old man fell silent, his weathered face thoughtful.

"I've encountered this type of aura before," he murmured. "It's not particularly strong, but it's troublesome to deal with. Removing it requires far more precision than simply overwhelming it with force."

He folded his arms, calculating. "I'll need ten days."

Kaizen nodded and handed over an anonymous bank card.

The old man accepted it wordlessly.

"You'll stay here in the cabin during that time," the old man continued. "I'll need complete focus. My disciples can help if you require anything."

"The one outside?" Kaizen asked.

"That's right."

"Understood. Thank you for your trouble," Kaizen said politely.

The old man gave a dismissive wave and walked out of the cabin, leaving Kaizen and Lina alone.

"Lina, you heard him," Kaizen said gently. "Stay in the cabin for now, all right?"

"Got it," Lina whispered.

Kaizen stepped outside, closing the door quietly behind him.

Outside, a young man sitting in the sand looked at Kaizen curiously.

"You're here to have your aura purified, huh?"

Kaizen nodded. "Your master said he needs ten days. If I need anything, I'm supposed to ask you."

"No problem!" the young man said, thumping his chest with enthusiasm. "By the way, are you a Nen user too? How about we have a little match?"

Kaizen sized him up. The young man radiated energy—his aura control seemed at least at a solid D-rank.

Seeing Kaizen hesitate, the young man grinned. "Relax! I'll suppress my aura to match your level. I'd never go all out against someone younger than me."

Kaizen smirked. "Fine. But if we're fighting, I'll be using my Nen Beast."

The young man's eyes lit up. "Bring it on!"

He practically vibrated with excitement, like someone who'd been starved for a challenge.

"Alright then," Kaizen murmured, focusing his aura.

"Killer Queen."

A pink figure materialized beside Kaizen, radiating a calm but deadly energy.

The young man's playful grin morphed into a serious expression, though the thrill of combat still gleamed in his eyes.

"Let's go!"

The two clashed fiercely, exchanging blows. Killer Queen's attacks were precise and calculated, while the young man adapted fluidly, shifting tactics with each strike.

Eventually, they stopped, both breathing heavily. The fight had ended without a clear winner—Kaizen had held back Killer Queen's full power, while the young man had restrained himself just enough to keep things fair.

"That was awesome!" the young man exclaimed, his face flushed with excitement. "I haven't fought anyone in ages. It gets so boring around here, and my master won't let me leave until I'm stronger."

He wiped his forehead and grinned. "Oh, by the way, my name's Kaiken. What's yours?"

"Kaizen."

"Kaizen, huh? You're really good! I had to hold back a bit, but even so, you almost had me. That Nen Beast of yours is insane!" Kaiken said with admiration, clearly eager for more conversation.

He leaned closer, eyes wide. "You've been to Heavens Arena, right? What's it like? I've always wanted to go there someday!"

Kaizen smiled faintly but shook his head. "The arena is exciting, but it's not the right place for everyone."

"Huh? Why not?"

Kaizen folded his arms, thinking carefully. "The battles in Heavens Arena take place on a bare stage. No obstacles, no environmental elements—just pure one-on-one combat. Your style, Kaiken, seems better suited for environments with more complexity. In the arena, you'd be at a disadvantage."

Kaiken's expression faltered for a moment, but he quickly recovered, nodding in understanding.

"Yeah, I guess you're right," he admitted with a sigh. "My Nen is built around adapting to the environment. Fighting in a plain ring wouldn't suit me."

He paused before adding, "But it's still a dream of mine to see it someday."

Kaizen tilted his head slightly. "Your Nen—'environmental combat'—was it created by your master?"

Kaiken's face brightened.

"Yeah! My master is amazing. Anyone who can create a Nen like that has to be incredible, right? I've seen some really powerful fighters challenge him, but none of them could beat him. Not a single one."

He looked down at the ground, voice soft with longing. "I hope one day I can become as strong as him."

Kaizen smiled reassuringly. "You'll get there."

Ten days later, the old man emerged from his secluded wooden house, radiating a completely different aura.

Before, he had seemed like a natural part of the environment, blending seamlessly into the surroundings. But now, his presence felt alien—sharp, like something that didn't belong.

It was as if he had stepped out of an abyss, his aura heavy and ominous.

"Come inside, Kaizen," the old man said, his voice calm but commanding. "It's time to begin."

"Yes."

Kaiken watched them curiously but knew better than to intrude. He stayed silent as Kaizen followed the old man back into the cabin.

Inside, Lina looked up nervously.

"Kaizen…"

"It's okay," Kaizen reassured her. "Just stay calm."

The old man knelt before Lina, placing a hand gently on her head. His aura shifted, and a dark, heavy energy began to flow from him, enveloping Lina completely.

The aura wrapped around her, forming a dense black sphere.

Time passed slowly as the black sphere pulsed and twisted. Suddenly, it split into two, each half writhing as if alive.

The old man draped Lina's cloak over the two spheres, muttering softly to himself.

Finally, the energy settled.

"The aura has been eliminated," the old man declared quietly.
