Hunter X Hunter, Reborn as a Kuruta Tribesmen

Chapter 80: Chapter 80

---

Kite waited until Hisoka had completely disappeared before slowly asking, "Why didn't you get rid of him? That kind of murderous maniac attacks people purely out of personal whim. There will probably be many more people who die at his hands in the future!"

Hearing this, Rocky smiled faintly. "You're right. That guy is indeed a perverted murderer, but the targets of his attacks are only those who pique his interest."

He paused for a moment before continuing, "The people who interest him are mostly Nen masters. Ordinary people won't provoke him, and he won't fight with them either."

Rocky turned and began to walk away, his tone remaining calm. "At the end of the day, the world of Nen depends on strength. If a Nen user becomes Hisoka's target but can't protect themselves, then it's their own weakness to blame."

Rocky's words carried a certain logic, but Kite still didn't agree.

Even so, Rocky had been the one to take action and overpower Hisoka just now. If not for Rocky, there would have been no way to deal with Hisoka. Since Rocky had chosen to let him go, Kite felt he had no reason to intervene.

After all, deciding how to deal with an enemy is the victor's right.

"Still disagree?" Rocky asked, glancing back at Kate.

Kite nodded firmly. "Yes!"

Rocky sighed, sounding helpless. "The fight just now pushed me to my limit. My Nen has been a little unstable recently. I can't sustain control for long."

Kite blinked, surprised. "Your Nen is unstable? Are you sure you're okay?"

"Don't worry," Rocky reassured. "It will stabilize before *that* thing shows up."

"Let's find a hotel to rest," he added, turning his attention forward. "Based on your intel, that thing won't appear for a while, right?"

Kite nodded as he followed him. "Yeah, about twenty days left."

Rocky remained silent, calculating the timing. By then, his modification process would likely be complete.

Today's encounter with Hisoka had been taxing. Rocky's rapid Nen growth almost disrupted his control, leaving his body slightly strained. For a brief moment during the fight, he had even felt the Nen within him tangle and surge uncontrollably, causing minor internal damage.

He needed a place to rest and recover using the Holy King's Staff.

At the same time, Rocky's thoughts turned to another concern.

*I wonder... have the Phantom Troupe already entered this city?*

---

Elsewhere, on the other side of the city...

Rocky and Kite were staying in the eastern part of the city, an area known for its wealth and affluence.

In contrast, the Phantom Troupe had set up their base in the slums—a starkly different environment.

Perhaps it was their nature as "spiders," but they seemed to prefer dark, damp places devoid of sunlight.

Their current hideout was an abandoned factory.

Chrollo sat perched atop a stack of massive, rusted steel pipes. Below him, the nearest was Pakunoda, standing silently.

Scattered throughout the factory, the other members of the Troupe lounged, each finding a place to rest.

"Who hasn't arrived yet?" Chrollo asked, his voice calm but authoritative.

Pakunoda responded immediately. "Nobunaga, Feitan, and Franklin are still on their way. They said they'd arrive in three days. Everyone else is here."

Uvogin, who was sitting nearby, scowled. "Feitan and Franklin I can understand—those two love dragging their feet—but what's wrong with Nobunaga? When did he start slacking off like this?"

He cracked his knuckles threateningly. "I'll teach him a lesson when he gets here."

Shalnark chuckled from his spot. "Relax, Uvogin. They're not late—they're just the last to arrive."

"Who cares?" Uvogin grumbled. "They're still the slowest."

At that moment, Chrollo's sharp gaze shifted to a figure lurking in the shadows of the factory's corner.

No.4!

---

Omokage!

This guy was surprisingly early this time. In the past, he was either the last to arrive or stayed outside the gathering place until the last minute, refusing to show up right away.

But this time, he arrived early and waited, which made Chrollo suspicious.

"This guy seems to have other motives," Chrollo thought to himself.

It was a rare occasion for all members of the Phantom Troupe to gather in one place.

---

In a hotel room…

Rocky handed a file to Kite. "Take another look at the information on the Phantom Troupe members."

The list detailed the thirteen members of the Troupe:

**Chrollo Lucilfer** – Number zero, the leader.

**Nobunaga Hazama** – Number one.

**Feitan Portor** – Number two.

**Machi Komacine** – Number three.

**Omokage** – Number four.

**Phinks Magcub** – Number five.

**Shalnark** – Number six.

**Franklin Bordeau** – Number seven.

**Bryce Joe** – Number eight.

**Pakunoda** – Number nine.

**Bonolenov Ndongo** – Number ten.

**Uvogin** – Number eleven.

**Kortopi** – Number twelve.

Rocky wasn't particularly interested in most of them, but he paid extra attention to two names: Omokage and Bryce Joe.

Omokage was supposedly killed by Hisoka. However, in the movie adaptation, it was revealed that Hisoka hadn't truly killed him. Instead, Omokage had faked his death to cleverly exit the group.

As for Bryce Joe, he was killed by Killua's father, Silva Zoldyck. It was rumored that Bryce Joe had even confronted Chrollo directly at some point.

Rocky narrowed his eyes in thought. He wondered when Silva would make a move against Bryce Joe. If Rocky encountered such a scenario, it would certainly be interesting.

The reasons for Silva's intervention were never fully explained in the anime, but Rocky speculated two possibilities:

1. Chrollo may have been no match for Silva at that time. Given Chrollo's cautious personality, he would avoid taking unnecessary risks. Even if mobilizing the entire Troupe could defeat Silva, the cost in lives and damage to the group would likely be too great. So, Chrollo might have chosen to retreat.

2. Chrollo could have been preoccupied with the Troupe's larger plans. If something significant was at stake, Chrollo might have opted to prioritize that over fighting Silva.

If Silva showed up this time, things would definitely become more exciting.

---

Rocky chuckled to himself. *Hisoka… Silva… With Kite and me here, things are bound to get interesting!*

Kite glanced at Rocky and frowned slightly, puzzled by the strange smile on his face.

"Why are you grinning like that?" he asked, his tone suspicious. "You're starting to remind me of that perverted killer we ran into earlier."

Rocky ignored the jab, his thoughts already elsewhere.

Meanwhile, a more valuable target was attracting attention: Water Glass, one of the seven most coveted treasures in the world.

Such an item wasn't transported lightly. Its worth was equivalent to that of a small country, and it had naturally drawn the attention of many parties.

Water Glass was being escorted by professional Hunters, not just military personnel. These Hunters were highly skilled, and there was more than one of them on the job.

Among them was a **Gem Hunter**—Biscuit Krueger.

Biscuit's participation came with an unusual request. She didn't want monetary compensation. Instead, her only condition was that she be allowed to see and, if possible, touch Water Glass.

The employer had initially found the request baffling and even a bit eccentric. However, knowing Biscuit's reputation and strength, they reluctantly agreed.
