Hp:Merlin From Azkaban

Chapter 7: 7

Dana wasn't in a rush to change into Hannah's brother's old clothes.

He was still wearing his oversized wizard's robe—the same one he had worn for four years in Azkaban.

Don't ask why it hadn't been washed.

The second spell Dana had ever learned was the Cleaning Charm.

That was the only reason the robe was still wearable.

Dana closed his eyes.

His body stretched taller, his features sharpened, and his hair darkened from silver-white to jet black.

Within seconds, his entire appearance transformed into that of a tall, sharp-featured young man.

He cleared his throat, testing his voice.

"Cough, cough."

Then, with a deeper, more mature tone, he spoke:

"I am Darcy Dantes… a lone avenger."

Perfect.

His voice had changed too.

This transformation, granted by Merlin's bloodline, was flawless.

Even if Professor McGonagall or Dumbledore, both masters of Transfiguration, examined him—

They wouldn't be able to see through it.

Dana cast a Disillusionment Charm on himself, making his body invisible.

He left his empty dinner plate by the door and slid a note underneath:

"Catching up on sleep. Please do not disturb. Leave lunch on the floor, I will get it myself. Thank you."

Without a sound, the invisible Dana slipped out of the room.

The Leaky Cauldron was quiet in the early morning.

A few long-term residents ate breakfast downstairs, but otherwise, the place was empty.

Behind the bar, Old Tom sat, bored, playing with a bottle of Gamp's Old Gregarious.

It was an infamously disgusting liquor. If anyone could drink an entire bottle without vomiting, they'd win 100 Galleons.

But, despite the prize, no one had ever succeeded.

Dana walked past him unseen, heading toward the back courtyard.

Standing before the brick wall, he counted:

Three bricks above the trash can, then two bricks horizontally.

With a gentle tap of his fingertip, the bricks shifted aside, revealing the bustling Diagon Alley.

As he stepped through, he heard Old Tom muttering behind him:

"Is this entrance broken? There's no one here, yet it opened by itself… I'll have to call someone from the Ministry to check it later."

A nearby patron laughed.

"Can't you fix it yourself? It's just a simple enchantment."

Old Tom rolled his eyes.

"Diagon Alley's entrance belongs to the Ministry of Magic. If you so much as touch it, they'll make sure your next waking moment is under Azkaban's black sky."

The patron chuckled.

"Old Tom, you talk like you've been to Azkaban yourself!"

Old Tom smirked.

"With eighty to a hundred customers a day, I've met plenty who've been there and come back!"

"You're bluffing! No one ever leaves Azkaban alive—except maybe ten people in all of history!"

Dana tuned out the argument, heading straight for his destination—

Gringotts.

The massive white building stood asymmetrically at the end of the street, its uneven structure always unsettling to the eye.

Dana strode past the two armored goblin guards, stepping into the grand hall of Gringotts.

Security here was intense.

Armed goblin sentries patrolled the area, their beady eyes studying every visitor like they were potential thieves.

Dana smirked.

It made sense.

In his memory, Gringotts was successfully robbed on July 31st—

The start of the Sorcerer's Stone events.

Approaching the nearest counter, Dana placed a gold coin before the goblin banker.

"Can this be exchanged?"

The goblin's eyes widened in shock.

His long fingers carefully lifted the coin, examining the engraved patterns.

"This… this is… a gold coin from the era of King Arthur!"

His voice trembled with excitement.

"Ah, these markings—so beautiful! Only the legendary Lady of the Lake could forge such flawless coins!"

Then, he caught himself, adjusting his spectacles.

"Apologies, sir. We do accept these coins. One of them can be exchanged for… five Galleons."

Dana's expression darkened.

"Five Galleons? That's insulting."

The goblin blinked.

"Excuse me?"

Dana scoffed.

"If that's your price, I might as well sell them to Borgin and Burkes in Knockturn Alley. Mr. Borgin is offering fifty Galleons per coin—but he can't handle large quantities. That's the only reason I came here."

The goblin froze.

"A… large quantity?"

Dana crossed his arms.

"One thousand coins."

The goblin gasped, his greed barely concealed.

"S-Sir, I… I misspoke! These coins are worth at least twenty Galleons each!"

Dana snorted.

"Raise it to twenty-five Galleons per coin, and I'll exchange all one thousand here."

The goblin's eyes gleamed.

He had no choice but to agree.

*"D-Deal! Twenty-five Galleons per coin—twenty-five thousand Galleons total!"

Dana waved his hand, and a thousand ancient gold coins spilled onto the counter.

The goblin nearly choked on his own saliva.

"Griphook! Fetch twenty-five thousand Galleons—quickly!"

Then, he turned back to Dana, his face practically glowing with greed.

*"Sir, may I interest you in opening a high-security vault? A wealthy man like you should have a vault deep underground, guarded by a dragon! Normally, it costs 10,000 Galleons, but I can offer a limited-time discount—9,994 Galleons!"

"No need."

Dana declined immediately.

Gringotts is safe?

That's a joke. Three Hogwarts students once broke in and stole from their vaults—how 'secure' could it really be?

The goblin banker sighed in disappointment.

"Very well. But if you ever wish to exchange more of these coins, come directly to me. My name is Puchi, a Level 2 Banker at Gringotts."

"Understood."

The goblin hesitated before asking,

"Sir, may I have the honor of knowing your name? I would like to record you as a VIP client. Next time, you won't have to stand in the hall—we can discuss business in a private room."

Dana's eyes flickered.

A fake identity was necessary.

Without hesitation, he answered,

"Darcy Dantes."
