Hp:Merlin From Azkaban

Chapter 6: 6

"Merlin's treasure!"

Past midnight, Dana began summoning Merlin's XX once again.

This time, he was simply testing his luck. He didn't think he would fail—after all, a legendary wizard like Merlin must have had a treasure stash somewhere. At the very least, he needed enough gold to buy the information he sought.

Sure enough, the next moment, a key appeared in his hand.

It was entirely silver, with a golden thread wrapped around it, forming rune-like engravings along its length.

Dana sighed.

"What's the point of giving me a key without a treasure chest?"

But then—

He felt a sharp tug at his navel, followed by the sensation of being yanked through space.

A split second later, he was falling.

Dana understood exactly what had happened.

This key was a Portkey.

A Portkey was an enchanted object that transported the user to a pre-set location—it could be anything, from a hat to a spittoon to… well, a key.

As the feeling of weightlessness faded, Dana landed steadily in front of a massive stone door.

The sound of waves crashing against cliffs filled his ears, and the salty sea breeze stung his nose.

He was high above the ocean, perched on a narrow ledge about twenty meters above the jagged shoreline.

A keyhole was etched into the center of the stone door.

Without hesitation, Dana inserted the silver key and turned it.

With a deep rumble, the massive doors parted, revealing darkness beyond.

Here we go…

Dana stepped inside, bracing himself for traps, riddles, or challenges.

Instead—

The solid stone floor beneath him turned to liquid, and Dana plunged straight downward.

A brief moment of panic surged through him—

But then, he realized something strange.

He was no longer falling into the water.

Instead, he had somehow entered an inverted space, where he was suspended upside down, mirroring the stone chamber above.

Slowly, he adjusted himself, landing on his hands before flipping to his feet.

And then—

Blinding golden light filled his vision.

Piles of gold coins shimmered in the dim cavern, spilling over like water.

But the coins were the least valuable items here.

Precious gemstones were scattered haphazardly across the chamber, as though someone had casually tossed them aside. Among them, Dana immediately spotted five or six emeralds—each comparable to the one on Queen Victoria's crown.

Ancient silverware and sculptures from King Arthur's era were lined up neatly. Their material worth was negligible, but the sheer historical value made them priceless artifacts.

But Dana's eyes were drawn to a particular weapon—

A broken sword lying in the corner.

Its ivory hilt bore three engraved letters:

[SIS]

Dana froze.

Given Merlin's history with King Arthur, there was only one sword this could be—

The Sword in the Stone.

He was holding a piece of legend.

His attention shifted to something else—

A crude stone statue, oddly out of place amidst the wealth.

It was a rough carving, barely recognizable as a human figure.

Bald, long-bearded, wearing mage robes, clutching a massive wooden staff.

Merlin?

Around the statue's neck, a silver chain dangled, holding a leaf-shaped pendant that gleamed faintly in the cave's dim light.

Something about it felt different from the other treasures.

Dana reached forward and unclasped the chain.

The moment it touched his skin, the magic within it pulsed, sending a tingling sensation up his spine.

A storage artifact.

Dana smiled.

He removed his mother's silver ring, slid it onto the new chain, and fastened it securely around his neck.

The moment he did—

The entire chamber trembled.

Before he could react, the treasures surged toward him, converging like a tidal wave.

Dana braced himself, expecting pain—

But instead—

Everything simply vanished.

Dana blinked.

He instinctively focused on the necklace—and felt the connection instantly.

The treasure was stored inside.

Unlike an Undetectable Extension Charm, this artifact wasn't merely expanding space. It was connected to an entirely different dimension.

By rough estimation, this space was ten times larger than the cavern he had just looted.

This is beyond useful.

But now, there was one small problem.

Dana turned toward the stone door.

It had closed on its own.

More importantly—

He was still standing on a cliff.

The waves below crashed violently against jagged rocks. If he jumped, he had a fifty-fifty chance of hitting the water or smashing into the rocks.

And there was no way back inside.

Dana sighed.

He hadn't learned Apparition—Azkaban had anti-Apparition enchantments, making it impossible to practice there.

But—

He had Merlin's bloodline now.

Closing his eyes, he focused.

What if I were a bird?

His body shifted, his limbs shrinking, his vision sharpening—

When he opened his eyes, he was soaring through the air.

A raven.

He had transformed into a raven.

Merlin's bloodline… is incredible.

Dana flew high above the ocean, scanning the distant mainland.

After about ten minutes, he left the sea behind and glided over thick forests.

That's when he saw it—

A small, concealed town that had been enchanted with Muggle-Repelling Charms.

Dana's breath hitched.

He knew this town.

Livingston.

Merlin's treasure was hidden so close to my home?

As he descended, he spotted a newly-erected tombstone outside the town's graveyard.

He landed gently on top of it.

[Here Rests Anna Avery]

A single tear slipped from his raven's eye.

Then, he spread his wings and took flight once more.

He needed to return to London before dawn.

His revenge had to remain a secret.

And no one—not even Snape—could know what he had stolen tonight.

After an exhausting flight, Dana stumbled into his room at the Leaky Cauldron, shifting back into human form.

His limbs ached, his eyes were bloodshot, and exhaustion weighed on his entire body.

But before he could collapse into bed—

A knock at the door.

"Dana, are you up? It's Hannah!"

Suppressing a groan, Dana dragged himself to the door and opened it.

Hannah's eyes widened in shock.

"Dana! You look awful! Didn't you sleep last night? Your eyes are red, and you look so pale!"

Dana forced a weak smile.

"I just… couldn't sleep. I kept thinking about my mother."

Hannah's face fell, and she fumbled with the plate in her hands.

"Oh… I'm so sorry, Dana. Here, I brought you breakfast. Also—"

She hesitated.

"I found some of my brother's old clothes. If you don't mind, I can bring them later?"

Dana blinked.

A strange warmth filled his chest.

"Thank you, Hannah."
