House of The Dragon-A God Amongst Men

(Drakken's POV)

"Fascinating...." I said as I looked at Mya

She had connected her consciousness with a serpent while she was in a chair. I could feel the serpent having a taint of her magic power similar to the time we "met". The serpent was slithering all around the room, seemingly normal. Any ordinary person would not be able to tell if this creature was being controlled by what they call Greenseer. 

After a few more seconds, I saw the serpent had stopped and felt that Mya's consciousness was no longer in it. I looked over to her, her eyes were no longer whitened out and had returned back to normal. 

"I-I'm sorry..." She said, "I feel a bit nauseous...." 

"It is fine." I said as I stood up and walked over to her, "It is your arm." 

I reached for her arm and grabbed it gently, seeing that her bandages were still stained red. I ran my hand over it gently, she had shifted in nervousness as a response. 

"You've been giving me your blood for quite a while." I said, "And it has been worthwhile.." 

I noticed that she winced in pain, "I...." She said, "It hurts...." 

"I would repair it but my power might taint the magic in your blood." I said as I patted her cheek, "You have been useful to me, my dear. I will not forget it." 

She looked at me, "What do you need my blood for?" 

"A heart needs blood, no?" I said, "Your magic is quite fascinating, to say the least. To connect yourself to any animal you desire. You can also connect yourself to those strange trees, no? You had mentioned something like that." 

She nodded, "Yes.." 

"Your magic is akin to Nature Sorcery." I had told her, "Something I had never been good with. But regardless, your blood is pure....it would be used as the main component to filter out any filth from the power I drain from this land. Similar to how coal is used to filter out filthy water.....Come with me." 

I pulled her up from the seat and held her hand, walking her alongside me as I made my way out of the room we were in. I could sense the serpent's life force somewhere around in the room, hidden in fear of me. 

Several minutes later, we made our way down the stairs leading to the tower's sub-level. I opened the heavy stone door with my telekinesis, making sure I was the only one who could access it. 

Inside, there was a large room that had stone for walls, floor, and ceiling. I had carved it out of the earth and placed the chiseled stone myself. There was faint runes running along the walls, glowing occasionally. There was a loud sound, akin to a heartbeat, that resounded throughout the room but due to the darkness that covered most of it, the source was not visible. 

"What is this room?" Mya asked me

"Hm, that's right. You don't often leave the upper floors, right?" I said, "And when you do, you're simply going around the forests to search for food." 

I stopped and snapped my fingers, several candles lighting up all over the room and causing light to illuminate it. 

On the far end of the room, on a table, there was a strange-looking object that was pulsating. 

I noticed that Mya immediately saw it, "W-What is that?" She asked, "There's something.....there's power coming from it." 

I walked over to the table and looked at the object. It was large, covered in black-scaling with glowing red veins all around it. 

I placed my hand on it, feeling a magical response coming from it as the heartbeat got louder, the pulsating of it got faster as well. 

"This is a draconic heart." I said, "It was very hard to do it. I carved out a piece of The Cannibal's heart and created this. I regenerated his heart and he's currently having a well-deserved nap. Surgery can make one exhausted after all." 

"A dragon's heart?" Mya asked

"Something like that." I said, "But I cleansed the Cannibal's magic from it and poured in the magic I reaped from the Battle into it while using your blood to filter out the filth." 

I looked down to see some large glass vials that were filled with black ooze. That was the "filth" that I was referring to, in physical form. The Heart was currently cleansing the magic power like I had intended to but I did not want to commence Ether Conversion because of its volatile properties. If I did not have a proper external catalyst to hold it, there is no point in doing that. My body could do it but I don't want my Calamity to go out of control. 

Curse the Soulway for severely weakening me. 

"So you created a heart for...this....?" Mya asked me

"This is good." I said, "A trial...to see if bringing forth my agents of destruction would be possible. Grayle and Talis.....they're rise will mean the end of everything...." 

I looked at the heart, feeling the power emanating from it. 

"What then?" Mya asked, "You're draining my blood to feed this...thing constantly....?" 

"Yes." I said, "But the Heart is also adopting your magical properties....which I find fascinating. It is identical to your power.....which brings me to the next topic.....the being that we are going to create will be something that this world needs to be prepared for....what do you know of Drakes?" 

"Drakes?" She asked, "What is that? Is that similar to a dragon?" 

"Somewhat." I said, "Draconic beings that have four limbs but no wings. That is what we'll create. However, I need a proper base to use my power to create this. In my proper glory, it would be child's play, but I am nowhere near my true strength. That is where you come in." 

"What?" She looked at me

I turned to her and patted her cheek yet again, rubbing it with my thumb and giving her a smile, "I need you to use your abilities to find me proper specimens...." I said, "Bring me a wolf, a big and strong one. Bring me a Hawk, with nice healthy eyes. And bring me a hive of fireflies....you do know what they are, right?" 

"Y-Yes...." She said softly

"Do that then." I said with a smile, "If we successfully create this, then I will give you whatever it is you desire. Should I find it appropriate, of course." 

She nodded slowly, "Very well....." 

"Good girl." I said as I turned back to the heart, "Think of this as an experiment. Doesn't it excite you as it does me?" 

"To create life, it's amazing."
