Horror Movie Executioner

Chapter 5: Last call

*On behalf of Tatum*

The evening fell on Woodsboro like a shroud. After the horror at school, I was squeezed out. I just wanted to lock myself in the room, to hide from all this nightmare. Forget about Randy, about the fear in Sydney's eyes. Forget about strange Eric with his alarming warnings. All these thoughts were spinning in my head like a stuck record.

I was sitting in the living room, stupidly staring at the TV, trying to drown out gloomy thoughts, but it was all in vain. Every creak of the floor, every rustle outside the window seemed threatening.

I felt that a maniac could jump out of any shadow, from any corner.

Suddenly the phone rang and I shuddered. I didn't want to answer, but curiosity overpowered me.

Hello? - I said, trying to sound calm, although everything was shaking inside.

Hi, Tatum, it's Billy - his voice sounded soft, even somehow soft.

I frowned.

- Hi, Billy, what happened?

I just wanted to know how you are," he replied. "I know you're sick because of Randy. I wanted to talk.

His voice was so soothing that I relaxed for a moment.

Yes, it's still shit - I replied. - I still don't believe in what happened.

I understand - Billy said. - It's hard for me too. Maybe I'll come over? Let's talk.

I hesitated. It was late, and I wanted to be alone. But his voice sounded so sincere that I couldn't refuse.

Okay, - I replied. - Come over, but don't stay up...

Okay, thank you, Tatum, I'll be there soon - Billy said and hung up.

I put down the phone and for the first time in the evening I felt a slight calm. Maybe talking to Billy will distract me from all this. Even a faint smile appeared on my lips.

I was so wrong.

A few minutes later, the doorbell rang. I came up and opened it. Billy was standing on the threshold, his face seemed gloomy, and his eyes were hiding in the shadows. He was not the same as always.

Hi - I said and tried to smile, come in.

He came in, and I closed the door. Billy came up and hugged me. The hugs were strong, but something in them seemed fake. I felt anxious.

How do you feel? - he asked, withdrawing.

Not really - I replied, - I try to hold on.

I understand - Billy replied and his voice became quieter. - But I know that we will overcome everything, we will manage, right?

He started wandering around the room. I followed him, and anxiety grew. Something changed in him, something was wrong, his eyes, movements, behavior... everything seemed unnatural.

Is something wrong? - I asked and I heard a trembling in my voice.

He turned around abruptly, and a knife flashed in his hands.

I choked with horror. His eyes widened, his whole body trembled.

Billy... what are you doing? - I whispered.

He didn't answer. He just looked, his eyes were like empty wells. Nothing human, just cold. Just a mask.

I tried to scream, but Billy jumped on me like a wild animal. The knife plunged into my stomach, and a sharp pain pierced my whole body. I fell to the floor, feeling a hot liquid pouring out of me.

Billy hovered over me, holding a bloody knife. There was no sympathy or regret in his eyes, only cold, empty darkness.

You knew - Billy hissed, leaning over to me. - You knew it was me, didn't you?

I tried to answer something, but blood gushed out of my mouth.

Billy laughed. This laugh was like the grinding of metal.

I've always liked you, Tatum," he continued, as if we were talking in an ordinary way. "You were so cheeky, so brave. But now you're such a pathetic whore.

He ran the tip of a knife over my face, leaving a bloody trail. I begged him to stop, but all my pleas remained unanswered.

Do you know what the funniest thing is? - he asked, looking me straight in the eye. - You could have become a murderer too. You've always been so aggressive. But you chose to be a victim, you chose to die.

He spat in my face and threw me aside.

I didn't see anything, didn't hear anything, only felt a sharp pain and approaching death.

Suddenly I heard the front door opening.

I tried to get up, but I didn't have enough strength. I was just lying down, looking at the drops of my blood, which turned into a small lake. My body gradually cooled down.

It's too late - I whispered, but he didn't hear me. I heard the door slamming, his steps moving away in the dark. I couldn't chase him. I didn't have the strength. All I had to do was wait.

Wait for death.

*On behalf of Mark*

I sat with my back leaning against the cold wall. The night covered Woodsboro, and in its gloomy silence only my own breath was heard.

The last skirmish with Billy, although it ended with my rescue, left behind only increased vigilance and anxiety. I felt that time was running out, and every delay could be fatal.

Sydney is in danger, and I had to act.

The system, cold and emotionless, appeared before me again.

The task "Track down and identify Billy" is completed! Reward: 300 points

Current task: "Save Sidney Prescott"

I sighed. 300 points. Now it seemed like a drop in the ocean. What could I do with them?

Here I noticed a new menu: Shop

I blinked in surprise and opened it in my mind. I have a long list of items, abilities and skills torn from different worlds.

Games, movies, anime. Swords, pistols, magic spells, even such abilities as: Rasengan from Naruto and Telekinesis from X-Men.

My eyes lit up. It was my chance to become stronger, defeat Billy, save Sydney.

But after reviewing the list, I realized that everything is not so simple. The prices were sure-high.

Sword made of Valirian steel (1000 points)

The magic of hellish flame (6500 points)

Rassengan (10000)

I scrolled through the list and saw more affordable things. Small but useful items. Sets of poisoned darts, throwing knives, strong armor and gas mask.

My 300 points were worthless compared to the strength of the highest level.

I needed to think rationally. Billy should have been killed today.

I started studying the available subjects. Throwing knives - 50 points. Poisoned darts - 70 points. First aid kit - 20 points. Strong armor - 70 points.

I needed a weapon that would be deadly, but quiet. Protection, under which I will be mobile.

And the plan.

I've decided. I'm not going to become a superhero, I just want to survive. And save Sydney.

I did some shopping.

Throwing knives (5 pieces) - 50 points: Sharp as a razor, blades made of durable steel, perfectly balanced for precise throwing. The handles are covered with leather for a comfortable grip.

Poisoned darts (5 pieces) - 70 points:

Thin steel needles with blunt tips. The tips are treated with a fast-acting paralyzing poison. Storage bag made of dense fabric.

First aid kit - 20 points: A small first aid kit with bandages, antiseptic, painkillers and a tourniquet. To provide emergency assistance in case of injuries.

Strong armor - 70 points: Light but durable Kevlar bulletproof vest hidden under regular clothes. Protects the chest and stomach from stabs and bullets.

Points: 0

Immediately after the purchase, a small suitcase appeared in my hands. When I opened it, I saw all the things. Knives, darts, first aid kit, and bulletproof vest.

I put on a bulletproof vest, having carefully checked the mounts. Then he attached a sheath with knives to his belt. I put the darts in a bag and fixed them next to the sheath. I was ready.

Billy was strong and cunning. I couldn't attack him in the forehead. You need to lure him out, drive him into a trap, and then strike him. And I had a plan.

I got up, looked at the dark sky and felt a surge of determination. A scarlet glow flashed in his eyes.

I wasn't an observer. I was a hunter. And I knew it would be a long night.

*On behalf of Sydney*

The night enveloped my house, the silence, interrupted only by the ticking of the clock, pressed on me. Every sound made the heart shrink, every rustle seemed to be a harbeter of trouble. After Randy's funeral, I was scared. I tried to hold on, but I felt my strength leaving me.

Suddenly there was a soft knock on the door, and I shuddered. Who could be at such a late hour? Maniac? Police?

The knock was repeated. Having made up my decision, I slowly got out of bed and, in only socks, went to the door. I looked into the peephole, but I saw only darkness.

I opened the door with trembling hands, and Billy was standing on the threshold. His face was gloomy, and his eyes were hiding in the shadows.

Billy? - I said, not fully understanding what was happening. What are you doing here?

I couldn't sleep," he replied, his voice being quiet and tired.

- I just wanted to make sure you were okay.

I let him in and closed the door behind him.

I can't sleep either," I said. This night is just terrible...

We went to the living room and sat down on the sofa. Silence hung in the air, heavy and tense.

You know," Billy said, breaking the silence. "After Randy's death, I began to rethink a lot. This life is so unfair.

I know," I answered. I feel the same way. Why is everything like this?

Everything will be fine, Sydney," Billy said, hugging me.

- I won't let you get hurt. I'll always be there.

I clung to him and felt safe for a moment. But something inside me told me that it wasn't so.

His words sounded fake.

After a short conversation, Billy got out of it. He said that he still needs to rest. I escorted it to the door and locked it.

A few minutes later, the phone rang.

I shuddered. Unknown number.

Hello? - I said.

Sydney - there was an unfamiliar voice full of mockery. How do you like my work? Did you like what I did with your boyfriend?

I got pale.

Who are you? - I whispered.

I'm your nightmare, Sydney," the voice answered. I'm the one who will finish your story soon.

The voice was laughing. His laughter was chilling.

What do you want? - I asked.

I want you," he replied.

- And soon you will be mine.

He hung up the phone, and I felt a cold sweat running down my back. I was panicking, but something stopped me. Billy is nearby.

He promised to be there.

A knock on the door made me step back. I went to the door scared again and looked into the peephole.

It was Billy.

I opened the door. But Billy was not alone. A masked figure stood next to him.

Surprise! - shouted the maniac and pushed me.

I flew back, falling to the floor. My eyes were full of horror. Billy looked at me from top to bottom, and there was no tenderness in his eyes. Only cruel emptiness.

What... what's going on? - I whispered, looking at Billy.

We decided to unite, Sidney…

I picked up one of the throwing knives and stuck it into his head without hesitation. Billy twitched and froze, his eyes went out.

He was dead.

I turned around to check on Stew, but he was already getting up. He was furious, his eyes were bleeding, and his face was playing a grimace. He abruptly grabbed a knife from the table and rushed at me with a scream.

I tried to dodge, but Stew was too fast. I felt a sharp pain in my back.

I knew I had armor, but still the pain made me bend.

I made a sharp turn and, without losing a second, stuck a throwing knife into his neck. Stu froze, his eyes widened with surprise and pain. He grabbed his neck, trying to pull out the knife, but it was too late. He fell to the floor, choking on blood.

I was standing, breathing heavily, looking around the room. Billy and Stew were dead. My mission has been accomplished. Sydney was saved.

Suddenly I heard the howl of sirens and loud voices outside.

The police have arrived.

I turned to Sydney, wanting to make sure she was okay. But as soon as I could approach her, the door was broken, and armed policemen broke into the house. They steered a gun at me.

Hands up! Don't move! - shouted one of the policemen.

I raised my hands, trying to explain what happened.

I'm not a murderer! It's them! - I shouted, pointing to the dead bodies of Billy and Stew.

- I saved Sydney!

But no one listened to me. They obviously thought I was the killer.

Suddenly I heard a shot. I felt a sharp pain in my chest and fell to the floor. Darkness began to envelop my consciousness.

It floated in my eyes, I felt my life slipping away, and then the system screen surfaced in front of me.

The task "Save Sidney Prescott" is completed! The mission in this world is over. Teleportation to the next world begins...

*On behalf of Sydney*

The sunlight penetrating through the curtains seemed alien. Too bright for a world that has split into parts.

I was lying in bed, staring at the ceiling. A day has passed with that horror. The day when my life turned upside down.

Fragments of that night came to mind: Billy, Stew, their cruel words, their cold eyes. Night of betrayal. The night when it seemed like the end.

But then he appeared. Eric. That strange guy, I never thought he was capable of such a thing.

That night I saw determination and rage in his eyes. He did the impossible by defeating two maniacs who wanted to kill me.

And yet, there was chaos in my head. Why Billy? Why him? I trusted him. He was my friend. And St... who is he? What connected them?

I couldn't understand. And I couldn't accept it.

I turned to my side and remembered that night. I won't see Billy anymore. He smashed my life into fragments. He killed Randy. He killed Tatum.

Tears came to my eyes. Tattoo. I couldn't believe it. She's gone. Just yesterday she was there, lively, funny.

I wiped my tears and tried to get up. My body was whining, as if I was being beaten. I barely reached the bathroom.

I saw my reflection in the mirror. Pale face, red eyes, sunken cheeks.

It looked terrible.

I washed my wash with cold water, it became easier. I tried to comb my hair, but I had to spend a lot of time to put it in order.

I came out of the bathroom and went to the kitchen. Breakfast prepared by my aunt was waiting on the table. I thanked her and sat down at the table, but I didn't want to eat. I was picking a fork in a plate.

Sidney, you have to eat," Aunt said. You need to gain strength

I nodded, but ate only a couple of pieces of toast.

The police want to talk to you," said the aunt.

- We need to restore the chronology of events

I sighed. I didn't want to remember that night. Talk about Billy and Stew. But I had to.

A few hours later, two policemen arrived. They asked a lot of questions. Oh Billy, oh Stu, about that night. I told you everything. She told me about Eric.

But they didn't believe it. They said that he was most likely just a random witness who happened to be at the crime scene.

They said they would figure it out. But I didn't believe it.

I felt that something was wrong with this case. They missed something. I'll have to find the answers.

Understand why this happened.

I'll have to find out who Eric was. Why did he save me. Why he disappeared. I was hoping that one day I would find him.

And I can thank you for saving my life. I had to understand what made him fight. What made him be who he was that night.

I was left alone again in the evening. I went outside and sat on the porch. I looked at the sky. It was the same as always. And the world around... It will never be the same again.

P.S.

The next world?
