GREED: ALL FOR WHAT?

Chapter 2039: Only One Thing.

The god of power had taken temporary control of the white ball. It is not true ownership, as that will take time. He doesn't have much time currently, so he gave up on that idea and instead decided to secure the white ball first.

While he was putting the white ball into his body for safekeeping, the worm on his hand jumped and swallowed the will of the void universe whole. It actually expanded from a worm into a colossal beast the size of worlds large enough to swallow the will of the void universe.

The god of power looked at this and frowned. What the worm had done is something it shouldn't be able to do because the worm is supposed to be powerless and because there are chains bounding the will of the void universe.

The worm was supposed to be just a system for collecting data. It is apparent that it is not just a system and possesses some power. The god of power is sure now that it has been hiding a lot from him.

Be that as it may, even if his brother happened to be here with his true body, even the god of wisdom shouldn't have been able to grab and swallow the Will of the void universe like that.

After all, the chains that bound the will of the void universe were created by the Lord of Madness himself and were durable enough to imprison the void universe at its strongest and also keep ANNIHILATION imprisoned.

So there are clearly a lot of suspicious points about its actions. At the very least, it is clear that the system has learned to subvert the Lord of Madness arrangements.

But the god of power didn't stop the system because he was busy with the white ball. The white ball was too heavy and powerful. Fortunately, his existence is large enough as a god of the Cosmos. So he was able to hide it quickly.

When he was done hiding the origin of infinity, he shot outside of the golden sphere and out of the core of the void universe.

He didn't return to the corridor of worlds. Instead he took to the skies where the sea of frozen origin gods was and went past it. He broke the barrier of the void universe and left it immediately.

He didn't look back at all. He doesn't know if he will be a match for Legion or not in his current state, but he isn't willing to risk anything. Especially when he knows what will happen now that the will of the void universe is gone and the void universe is officially dying.

There was just too much to risk in fighting Legion. He recognized that things were about to get really bad, so he ran with as much speed as he could manage.

All the while, he kept the Transcendence Boat active. As he uses this golden shield, it reduces in size and durability. So he is running out of time to leave.

If he can't leave the void universe and return to the cosmos, he will be doomed. So he didn't bother with anything at all. He didn't want to waste any moment, so he didn't taunt Legion about getting one on them.

Even though he didn't taunt Legion about their loss, Legion was still pissed. All twelve of them roared in anger behind him, "Nooooooooo!"

"Get back here, thief."

They regretted not having tried to kill him before. But anytime they wanted to make a move on him, their aspect of Probability would tell them that they would fail.

So instead of doing something that they would fail at, they decided to acquire strength. Unfortunately, what they had feared had happened again. They had failed to stop him.

Not only did he take the origin of infinity, but he also took the progenitor of the void universe with him. They couldn't allow him to leave, so they chased after him.

They raged as their figures detached from the golden sphere and followed him in hot pursuit. Their speed wasn't actually slower than his. In fact, they were gaining on him.

They were about to catch him. But then they reached the edge of the void universe and crashed into a thick wall. The wall couldn't stop them, but it slowed them down.

Meanwhile, the god of power slipped through the barrier without any resistance. If not for the fact that they had to break the barrier of the void universe on their own, they would have caught up to him.

When they came out of the void universe, they didn't see him at all. Instead, all they saw was darkness.

Two things happened at once. They saw many universes and many pillars, nailing those universes onto something.

They also saw chains binding something. It was the same kind of chains that bound the will of the void universe. The chains had red, blue, and green runes on them.

While they were seeing all of these strange new things that they didn't expect to see, the second thing happened to them. They were struck with the full force of an Absolute.

ANNIHILATION was everywhere outside of the void universe, not just bound up. They didn't see him, but they felt his all-encompassing and certain power.

All they saw of him was darkness, and all they felt was existential dread as the power of ANNIHILATION swept into their bodies, then their minds, and finally their origin.

Their existence began to unravel. They didn't feel any pain at all. They were just flaking away into nothingness as if it was the most natural thing in the world.

If they calmed down and accepted their fate, they would die and be forgotten in peace. All their worries, stress, and problems will disappear with them. They will be nothing, so they will have nothing to worry about.

But they refused to die like this. Their Supreme laws wouldn't let them stop or rest until they had become Supreme and had overwritten all of reality into their image.

So they roared again, "Noooooooooooo."
