Chapter 111: Chapter 111: Welma vs. the Elder of the Moon Worship Cult
Chapter 111: Welma vs. the Elder of the Moon Worship Cult
At the Divine family villa's security post, the guards quickly noticed two figures approaching under a nearby streetlight.
A guard stepped out and shouted sternly, "Who goes there?! This is a private estate—leave at once!"
Before he could finish, his entire body was engulfed in a wave of cold, and a second later, he shattered into chunks of ice.
Welma, surrounded by an aura of icy power, left a trail of frost wherever she went.
Willard Smith followed closely behind her, and together they made their way to the central fountain of the estate.
Several figures, radiating formidable energy, shot out from the villa.
Six individuals, clad in gray robes with red moon emblems on their chests.
They were five elders of the Moon Worship Cult.
Since learning of Kate's death at Welma's hands a few days ago, the Moon Worship Cult had dispatched five elders to Bluewater City.
Kate's death was a matter of face for the Moon Worship Cult, and they intended to demand an explanation from Welma.
Mr. Max clasped his fists at Welma, his tone cold, "Director Welma, coming here and slaughtering indiscriminately—is that really appropriate?"
Welma's expression was icy, "So, you're the extraordinary force behind the Divine family?"
"I'm merely enforcing the public order regulations. Is there an issue with that?"
Even under Willard Smith's control for so long, her cold, proud demeanor still intimidated Mr. Max.
Behind Mr. Max, a bald elder shouted angrily, "I've roamed Base Country 3 for years, and you're the first to dare oppose the Moon Worship Cult!"
The other elders voiced their discontent as well.
"The Divine family represents us, and you dare kill their members—an affront to us!"
"Little girl, after all these years, the only achievement you can boast about is defeating the Skeleton King!"
"Do you even realize that in our hands, the Skeleton King would be no more than a quick flick away from destruction?"
The elders' bodies erupted with terrifying power.
Among them were four B-ranks and two A-ranks!
This was the terror of extraordinary forces.
The state viewed them with both admiration and fear.
They refused to involve themselves in international conflicts or the chaos of demonic creatures, concerned only with pursuing their own desires.
National stability was meaningless to them; they believed that only power was real in this age.
Facing these five intimidating elders, Welma was unfazed, her red lips curving into a mocking smile. "This is my first encounter with an extraordinary force—let's see if you old fossils are as tough as you talk!"
An intense, icy wind rose around Welma, her black hair flowing wildly.
Channeling all her spiritual energy, she summoned her ice powers to connect with the heavens.
Snowflakes began to drift down over the villa.
In high-heeled boots, she strode steadily toward the five elders.
With each step, frost formed on the ground beneath her.
Infuriated by her taunt, the elders' faces twisted in rage.
The bald elder roared, "You're seeking death!"
Engulfed in flames, he attacked first!
Flames swirled around him, forming a twin-headed serpent, its fangs bared as it lunged at Welma.
Welma extended her delicate hand and lightly tapped a snowflake in front of her.
The snowflake expanded instantly, blocking the twin-headed serpent.
The serpent was extinguished in an instant.
The bald elder was stunned.
Even though he was only a B-rank, a full-force attack shouldn't have been blocked so easily!
Before he could react, black vines sprouted from the ground beneath him.
"Blue Silver Bind!"
Willard Smith, hiding in the shadows, shouted, and the Blue Silver Grass entangled the bald elder.
"She has backup? Mr. Robert, Mr. Luke, go deal with him!" a white-haired elder commanded, his sharp gaze fixed on Willard Smith.
"Oh no!"
Willard Smith broke out in cold sweat.
He had underestimated the terror of extraordinary forces.
Two A-ranks and four B-ranks—how was he supposed to win this?
Watching as two B-ranks charged toward him, he braced himself for battle.
Thankfully, his Blue Silver Grass ability was powerful; even though he was weak himself, he managed to hold his own against the two B-ranks.
The villa estate had now become a battlefield.
Inside the Divine family villa, Sophia's brother, who was watching the scene unfold, gaped in astonishment.
So this was the power of high-ranking awakened beings?
The wind howled, snow filled the air.
Flames blazed, casting eerie glows.
The ground shattered, and space seemed to tremble.
The villa grounds were more than half destroyed!
"They've been fighting for half an hour. Just what kind of powers do they have?"
Sophia's brother, 30 years old, with a C-rank talent and six stages of spiritual energy, had thought himself strong.
But those battling below—
Was this truly a human capability?
Or could they even still be considered human?
Just then, his eyes widened in shock.
The white-haired elder, like a kite with a broken string, was kicked by Welma, his body growing larger in his view as he crashed through the glass and fell into the room.
"Elder John!"
Sophia's brother hurriedly helped the white-haired elder to his feet.
The elder spat out a mouthful of blood, his face filled with shock.
Clutching Sophia's brother's hand tightly, he spoke quickly:
"Divine family boy! Get the car ready! Run!"
Sophia's brother was horrified and asked, "Elder John, did you lose?"
The white-haired elder stared out the window in terror:
"Welma's at least at the eighth stage of spiritual power! She's a combat genius, able to wield her abilities to the peak of A-rank! Among A-ranks, she has no equal! Originally, the six of us were supposed to drain her spiritual power and wear her down, eventually capturing her.
But she has an ally who managed to hold off two of our B-rank elders."
Actually, even S-rank abilities vary in strength.
For example, someone like Willard Smith, with only four stages of spiritual power, can't tap into even a fraction of the true power of the Blue Silver Grass at the S-rank level.
Of course, a weakling S-rank like Willard is an extreme rarity.
The white-haired elder struggled to stand, gripping Sophia's brother's shoulder, speaking earnestly: "The Moon Worship Cult underestimated her this time. They should have sent the Third Elder! Let's go—if we leave now, she won't be able to stop us!"
Sophia's brother gritted his teeth.
So, Kate's death would be in vain! The Moon Worship Cult wouldn't risk provoking such a powerful adversary for her sake!
Who would have guessed that the Director of Bluewater City would be this fierce?!
Welma had completely shattered his understanding of A-rank power!
Seeing his hesitation, the white-haired elder urged him on:
"Don't worry, we have ways to get the Security Bureau to deal with her!
Within a few days, Welma will be a wanted fugitive. Let's go! If we linger, we're all dead!"
Welma stood above, balancing on a massive snowflake, floating in mid-air.
Arms crossed, she wore a proud expression, like an imposing ice queen.
The elders of the Moon Worship Cult were all gasping for breath, their spiritual power nearly depleted.
Welma spoke coldly:
"Do you know why the Skeleton King survived his encounter with me?
I only wanted to leave a creature around that would constantly eye Bluewater with greed.
Too bad, he came once and never dared return."
The elders glared at Welma, using the last of their spiritual energy to turn and flee.
The two elders who had been fighting Willard Smith also retreated.
Welma didn't give chase.
Her spiritual energy was nearly exhausted, and through her powers, she sensed a modified van waiting for the elders nearby.
Catching up would be impossible.
As Welma descended, her face turned pale, and she spat out a mouthful of blood.
The recent battle had left her severely wounded as well.
Willard Smith approached her, an excited gleam in his eyes.
This woman was even fiercer than he'd expected.
The thought of subduing such a cold and powerful woman thrilled him to the core.
Tonight, he'd definitely try something new!
The lights were dim, the surroundings quiet, wild winds and grasses on edge, and even the moon had withdrawn.
Meanwhile, a modified van sped along the highway.
Suddenly, the driver slammed on the brakes, screeching in the darkness.
The door opened, and Sophia's brother stepped out, shouting in anger:
"Who are you? Do you have a death wish?!"
Before him stood seven strange figures, all wearing masks.
The leader wore a ghastly smiling mask and a white suit.
