Chapter 3: Chapter 3 Snake... ???

On the first day of their journey, Skye and his flock of sheep encountered numerous groups of predators.

In response, Skye ordered his sheep to charge, ramming the predators to death. Afterward, he experimented on their corpses.

As the days passed, however, the number of predators in each group increased—from 50 to 60, then from 70 to 90.

Fourth Day

Growls echoed through the air as a cackle of hyenas, numbering around 200, surrounded them.

"Don't panic. Gather around me," Skye commanded.

The flock of sheep obeyed without hesitation, huddling closely around him.

The hyenas laughed mockingly, their mouths watering at the sight of what they assumed would be an easy meal. Their hungry eyes glinted with malice, but whether the sheep would end up as prey or something else was yet to be seen.

The leader of the hyenas, the matriarch, growled, her glare commanding. The air around her mouth shifted, swirling ominously. Moments later, the air ignited, forming a blazing fireball nearly a meter in diameter.

The hyenas cackled even louder, their laughter echoing through the air, while the sheep began to grow restless, shifting nervously.

"Dumb," Skye muttered, his killing intent leaking into the air like a dark cloud.

The hyena matriarch froze mid-action. Her control slipped, and the fireball exploded in her face.

She howled in agony, her cries piercing the air, while the rest of the hyenas fell silent in stunned disbelief.

"Charge!" Skye ordered.

The flock of sheep rushed forward with renewed vigor, their horns slamming into the bodies of the now panicked hyenas.

The matriarch, in desperation, tried to summon another fireball. But Skye's oppressive presence disrupted her once again. The flames backfired, consuming her and ending her life.

Chaos erupted. The remaining hyenas scrambled to flee, but their panicked retreat made them even easier targets. The relentless sheep rammed them to death one by one.

When the battle ended, Skye turned his attention back to the corpses, experimenting with their remains. Scenes of fire, combustion, and explosion followed.

He was especially cautious with the matriarch's corpse, but even that ended in failure. It detonated violently, leaving nothing usable behind.

"Let's move on," Skye ordered. The flock continued their journey without question.

As time passed, similar conflicts became a routine part of their journey. Some sheep were injured, and many lost their horns, but they pressed on.

Two Weeks Later

'This place should do,' Skye thought as he surveyed his surroundings. The area was partially covered in glowing plants, trees, and even luminescent soil.

This marked the boundary between the ordinary and the magical—a place where the laws of nature began to shift.

On this planet, gaining strength was deceptively simple: consume a variety of different types of resources and hope for the best. However, the chances of evolving into something truly useful were slim. Skye had no intention of relying on blind guesses and luck.

"We'll stay here," Skye announced.

"Baa!" "Baa!" "Baa!"

The sheep cheered, some leaping with excitement as they eagerly began to graze. Among the grass, they discovered strange herbs and plants, which a few of them quickly devoured.

Skye ignored them for now, taking to the air to scout the area. The open grasslands offered little cover for predators, making it an ideal temporary home.

After a brief search, he found what he was looking for: a pond. Satisfied, he wandered a bit more before returning to the flock.

By noon, Skye led the sheep to the water source.

As they approached, the sheep grew restless, some trembling in fear. The reason became clear when something slithered out of the seemingly harmless pond.

"Hiss!"

A massive head emerged from the water, followed by a long, black body.

"Baa! Baa!"

The sheep screamed, retreating as a giant snake revealed itself. Twenty meters long and a meter in diameter, the snake could easily swallow a sheep whole.

The serpent slithered closer, its cold, predatory eyes locked on the flock.

"Stop right there!" Skye commanded, his aura and killing intent flaring. His inactivity in combat did mean that he was powerless. If he wanted to he could directly eliminate the soul of his target.

Sensing the danger, the snake hesitated, hissing in frustration.

"Go ahead and drink your fill," Skye told the sheep calmly.

With their trust in him absolute, the sheep cautiously moved past the giant snake to the water's edge.

Although the snake attempted to strike a few times, a single glare from Skye was enough to deter it. The sheep drank in peace, taking turns as the snake watched with simmering hatred.

When the flock finally left, the snake retreated reluctantly into the pond, waiting for other prey to take the bait.

Time passed, and thanks to the snake's presence, other predators avoided the area, allowing the sheep to rest and recover. Injuries healed, and their morale slowly improved.

Skye occasionally led them on hunts, targeting smaller groups of predators. With him guiding the flock, the sheep emerged victorious with only minor injuries.

When the sheep were hungry, they ate grass, and when they were thirsty, they followed Skye to the pond. Their daily activities were simple: wake up, eat, drink, sleep, and occasionally hunt.

After each hunt, Skye consistently experimented with the corpses. His research progressed steadily.

Soon, autumn arrived.
