Fated To The Reluctant Alpha

Chapter 3: CHAPTER TWO

Cael moved quickly, Elisa just behind him. His focus was clear—he needed to make sure Elisa stayed safe. He could have told Elisa to stay outside, but the look in her eyes told him otherwise. If Cael went in alone, she would have still come into the building and Cael didn't want her to do it at a time he wasn't watching and get caught in the crossfire.

The guards at the entrance had no time to react before he knocked them out by slamming their heads together hard. They collapsed the look of surprise frozen on their faces.

Before he pushed the doors open, Cael turned to Elisa. His voice was low but firm. "Once I open these doors, stay close to the walls. Find your sister and get out as fast as you can. I will draw the attraction to myself" distract them."

Elisa nodded, holding tightly to a rusted pipe she had grabbed earlier.

Cael kicked the doors open with a loud crash and stepped inside.

The room went quiet. About thirty men, were in the warehouse, froze as they turned to see what had caused the noise. Cael straightened, his body radiating a deadly confidence and rolled his shoulders. For a moment, Cael didn't look like a man—he looked like a predator, dangerous and powerful.

One of the men, closest to the door, opened his mouth to speak. "What the hell do you think you're—"

Before he could finish, Cael attacked. His fist connected with the man's jaw.

Crack.

The man head snapped to the side, fell to the ground, unconscious.

Cael didn't stop. He grabbed the next man's wrist, twisting it until he heard a snap, then threw the man into a group behind him. The power in Cael's movements left the others stunned.

Then, chaos broke out.

Shouting, the men rushed at him from all directions. Cael met them head-on. His fists, elbows, and knees struck with deadly precision, each move aimed to take down an opponent. He moved like a storm—dodging knives, twisting away from punches, and using anything he could grab—a broken chain, a loose pipe—as weapons.

Elisa pressed herself against the wall, her heart racing as she watched. Cael fought like he had been in countless battles. This wasn't just training—this was real survival.

But the men kept coming, overwhelming Cael with their numbers. Cael growled low, and suddenly his claws extended, gleaming under the dim light. Elisa gasped, her breath caught in her chest.

Elisa stayed pressed against the wall, her knuckles white as she gripped the pipe. She scanned the room quickly, her eyes moving fast until—there! In the far corner, behind iron bars, she spotted her sister.

"Tilly," she whispered, her stomach turning at the sight of her huddled in the cage, her small body shaking with fear.

"I see her!" Elisa shouted, pointing across the room.

Cael, mid-swing, looked over his shoulder. "Get her and get out of here!"

Elisa ran toward the cage, adrenaline pumping through her as another thug lunged at her. Without thinking, Elisa swung the pipe with all her strength. The metal hit the man with a loud thud, and he collapsed against the wall.

Elisa reached the cage, and Tilly looked up. Her tear-streaked face lit up with recognition. "E!" she cried, crawling toward her as Elisa unlocked the cage door.

Tilly's small hands clutched at Elisa's shirt, and she sobbed against her chest. Elisa's voice broke as she pulled her sister into her arms. "I'm so sorry, Tilly. You're safe now."

She clung to Elisa, her tiny hands pulling at her shirt. "E, look!" she cried, her eyes wide with fear, staring at something behind her.

Elisa turned just in time. The butt of a gun slammed into her shoulder instead of her head. She fell, using her body to protect Tilly as pain shot through her. Above her, a man raised the gun, ready to fire.

The sound of Elisa's cry cut through the chaos like a knife. Cael's head snapped around. Elisa was down, and a man was standing over her with a raised gun.

Cael didn't hesitate. He snapped the neck of the wolf in front of him with a sickening crack, then moved. Fast. Too fast for the human eye to follow.

The gunshot rang out.

Cael stepped in front of the bullet, it hit straight in his chest. He staggered. Pain exploded in his chest, but he didn't falter. He ripped the gun from the man's hand, breaking his wrist with one swift motion. With a growl, he punched his claws through the man's chest and threw him aside.

The world around Cael blurred. Pain spread through his chest, and he struggled to breathe. Darkness began to close in on his vision. He was losing too much blood.

"No!" Elisa screamed in terror as she watched Cael fall
