Fate: Question And Answer System of Traversing Heroic Spirits

Chapter 108: Chapter 108: Lancelot's Moment of Social Death

Flame Incantation, Fire's Warm Embrace, Purifying Flame Ritual, True Fire of Samadhi, Demon Flame Molten Gold, Meteor Blaze, Purgatory Sea of Flames.

These were all techniques I was intimately familiar with in my lifetime.

Hmm? Spirit Blood Curse, Setting the Sky Aflame?

Aren't these supposed to be a combination of spells? At the very least, they should fall under the category of advanced fire-based arts.

Well, the Spirit Blood Curse is technically a healing spell, primarily derived from the Purifying Flame Ritual, augmented with the water-based Smoke and Water Resurrection Spell. So, I guess it can still be classified as a fire-type technique.

The same applies to Setting the Sky Aflame, which is primarily a fusion of the Purgatory Sea of Flames with the wind-based Windborne Dust Spell.

These two techniques, however, could not be learned unless Smoke and Water Resurrection and Windborne Dust were mastered first.

"Flame Incantation!"

Zhang Jiao studied the spellbook for only a moment before raising his hand to summon a bright, flickering flame.

Sigurd and Hassan of the Hundred Faces looked visibly shaken, their expressions a mixture of shock and disbelief as they watched Zhang Jiao.

"That fast?" Sigurd muttered, his voice tinged with amazement. "He already learned it just by reading through it?"

Chihiro, however, remained unfazed, shrugging nonchalantly. "It's no surprise. This level of elemental magic isn't particularly hard to master."

To Chihiro, this was entirely expected.

"Let's see if it works for me too," Chihiro said confidently.

Following Zhang Jiao's example, he raised his hand and began invoking the Flame Incantation. Almost instantly, a vibrant flame ignited in his palm. However, his control was noticeably worse than Zhang Jiao's. The flame flickered violently, nearly spreading to the furniture around him.

"Whoa, whoa, whoa! That was close," Chihiro exclaimed, quickly extinguishing the flame before it caused any damage.

Zhang Jiao, on the other hand, was still marveling at the spell's mechanics. "This… this magic shouldn't exist in this world," he murmured, his voice filled with awe. "The threshold for entry is absurdly low."

The simplicity of these techniques left Zhang Jiao astounded. It was clear that the elemental spells had been intentionally designed to be inclusive, making them incredibly easy to learn while retaining formidable power. It was no wonder Chihiro hadn't been surprised, it was magic anyone could grasp with ease.

[The system's voice chimed in, announcing the conclusion of the session.]

[Special rewards have been distributed, and this quiz session ends here.]

Tohsaka Rin: "Huh? The rewards have already been handed out? What did everyone get?"

Kayenth: "Little girl, it's not polite to ask such questions."

Tokiomi Tohsaka: "Rin, behave yourself."

[Ding! The on-demand feature has been activated.]

[Everything that occurred during the Fourth Holy Grail War has been saved in the system. Group members may now watch the recordings at their leisure.]

[As the announcement appeared, a video icon appeared next to the system's shopping menu. Clicking on it revealed a single available entry: the full, unedited history of the Fourth Holy Grail War.]

Chihiro chuckled when he saw this. "Hah, this is basically the anime version of Fate/Zero, but in live-action format. The system even converted it into a proper narrative."

They all eagerly delved into the footage, discovering countless moments and scenes that hadn't been included in the quiz sessions.

Tokiomi, in particular, was left seething as he watched the footage. Seeing Kirei preside over his own funeral while Aoi descended into madness filled him with endless rage toward both Kirei and Kariya.

As the group continued their exploration, the system interrupted with another announcement.

["To lighten the mood, here is a short video."]

Tohsaka Rin: "Oh? What's this?"

Waver: "Maybe it's some new reveal?"

[The video began. The scene opened to a European-style bar, complete with antique furnishings and a warm, inviting atmosphere.]

[The establishment was labeled as "Old Fashioned Bar," with a sign beneath it reading "Spider's Nest."]

[Despite its cozy interior, the surrounding walls suggested it was situated within a larger military base.]

[The camera panned to the bar counter, where an elderly man was polishing glasses. He exuded an air of wisdom and calm, indicating he was the bartender and possibly the owner.]

[On the other side of the bar sat a handsome man clad in purple armor, sipping a cocktail. His demeanor was refined, yet casual.]

[The camera zoomed in, revealing his name in bold letters: Lancelot (Saber).]

Everyone: "!!!"

Waver: "Wait, hold on. That's Lancelot?!"

Sola-ui: "And he's… Saber class this time?"

Tohsaka Rin: "This is a completely different vibe compared to his Berserker form."

Artoria: "Yes… this is Sir Lancelot as I remember him—a knight of unparalleled elegance and chivalry."

Irisviel: "Artoria, please focus on the road."

Lancelot: "Ahem… Yes, this is me in my youth. However, I have no recollection of such an event. This must be a vision of the future."

Kayenth: "If Lancelot is here, then the bartender must also be a Heroic Spirit."

Tokiomi Tohsaka: "It's impossible to identify him just from appearance. We need more context."

[The video cut back to Lancelot, who seemed to have had a few drinks too many. His usually composed demeanor was slipping as he began to speak to the bartender.]

[Lancelot: "My… son—no, my daughter—isn't close to me at all."]

[Lancelot sighed deeply, his tone filled with regret.]

[Lancelot: "But in the end, I know it's my fault…"]

[The bartender smiled sympathetically, pouring Lancelot another drink.]

Tohsaka Rin: "Daughter? Does he mean Mash?"

Waver: "This has to be the Chaldea timeline."

Artoria: "Sir Galahad and Sir Lancelot often quarreled, but this is strange… Galahad was male."

Tohsaka Rin: "So why would his daughter avoid him?"

Artoria: "Well… Lord Gawain once mentioned that Lancelot had a habit of… er, observing women too closely."

Lancelot: "My king! Please don't listen to those slanderous lies!"

The group erupted in laughter, realizing that Lancelot's supposedly noble reputation had some questionable undertones.

[The bartender offered soothing advice, his words seemingly laced with subtle hypnotic undertones.]

Bartender: "It's important to connect with your family. Believe in the bond you share. You are a kind and gentle father, Sir Lancelot. You know what your daughter truly desires."

[As he spoke, the bartender's eyes glowed faintly blue.]

[Unbeknownst to Lancelot, he was being subtly manipulated.]

Artoria: "He actually exploited someone's unpreparedness to use such underhanded methods. This old man is definitely not a decent person."

Emiya Kiritsugu: "Indeed, this old man isn't ordinary. His voice carries a strong hypnotic or manipulative power."

Tohsaka Rin: "But what exactly is he trying to do to Lancelot?"

Kayneth: "Surely, he doesn't intend to make Lancelot and his daughter fight each other?"

Lancelot: "!!!"

[The scene abruptly shifted to a young Mashu standing in her room, freshly showered and drying her hair. A knock came at the door.]

[Mash: "Huh? Who is it?"]

[Before she could open the door, it swung open on its own.]

[There stood Lancelot… dressed in an indescribably flamboyant outfit, striking a ridiculous pose.]

[Mash: "…"]

[The screen froze momentarily, capturing Mash's expression of absolute horror.]

Chihiro: "Oh, this is gold."

Iskandar: "Hahahaha! Lancelot, what in the world is this?!"

Gilgamesh: "So the clown reveals himself at last."

Ishtar: "Where did you even find that outfit?"

Artoria: "Sir Lancelot! What have you done?!"

Lancelot: "This… this is not me! I swear upon my honor!"

[The video concluded with a close-up of the bartender, his name finally revealed: James Moriarty (Archer).]
