Ex-Husband Wants My Baby After Putting Me to Jail

Chapter 7: Chapter 7: Just Deserts, Deep-Seated Hatred.

Wayne Don was picked up by Noah Bates at three o'clock and then taken directly to the grand Bates Family mansion, where Autumn Evans, Noah's mother, froze upon seeing him.

The old woman murmured, tears falling, "Are you... our Bates Family's... grandson?"

Wayne remained silent. Autumn's sadness appeared genuine, but he did not want to engage.

"Who are your parents?"

"Who my mother is does not matter to you."

Wayne smiled, the mental acuity of a five-year-old bordering on precocious, "Who my father is naturally does not matter to me either."

Noah had just parked the car and come in when he heard Wayne's words; he kicked the door in anger, "What do you mean by that?"

Wayne said, "The literal meaning."

Autumn could tell the child harbored a great resentment, especially toward the Bates Family, and did not dare to approach and embrace him, just watched him, "Is your mother... doing well?"

Wayne smiled sweetly, "In jail, everyone eats the state's food, so my mother is well-clothed and fed."

Noah became infuriated upon hearing this, and grabbing Wayne, hoisted him up, "Who taught you to speak with such thorns?"

He scoffed coldly, "Was it Violet Don who taught you to speak like this, hmm?"

Wayne, fearless, replied, "Who taught me? Everyone around has told me. They say my mother has been to jail, they say she has killed someone. To count, you also said this in front of my mother yesterday."

Noah felt a stabbing pain in his chest and set him down forcefully, grinding his teeth, "Have you learned some tricks from your mother, coming here to upset me?"

"If you dislike me causing upset, then send me back."

Wayne looked at him, "You want to use me to threaten my mother, but doing so will only make us hate you more."

Hate you more!

It was finally said, they admitted it, they were indeed hating him, and this hate had seeped into their flesh and blood, becoming a habit.

Whenever Noah Bates appeared, Violet Don would panic and wish to flee.

Thus for five whole years, she had moved from Seaside City to Blue City, just to escape from him!

Noah did not know why he had become so enraged, but he smashed many things, and Autumn pleaded sadly from behind, "Noah, don't break anymore..."

Noah laughed coldly and went upstairs, while Wayne sat emotionless on the sofa below.

When the father and son became angry, they looked strikingly alike.

Autumn called a servant to clean up and sat next to Wayne, expressing her concern, "Did that scare you...?"

Wayne shook his head, "No."

But his eyes were slightly red, the obvious look of someone who had been frightened.

"What... what's your name?" Autumn took a liking to the boy and wanted to ask his name.

Wayne looked at her, "My name is Wayne Don, Wei with the heart radical. My mother said this character represents 'just' and 'hope.'"

Autumn dared not ask about Violet's recent circumstances, but since Wayne brought it up, she continued cautiously, "Your mother..."

"You don't need to worry too much about my mother's affairs, Madam."

His aloofness even when using a title was apparent: smart, almost diabolical for a five-year-old. It would likely be difficult to get close to him in the future...

Autumn thought of a suitable way to start, "Wayne, in fact... back then, your parents..."

"No need to tell me, I know." Wayne cut her off bluntly, "They all say my mother was cheap, that she killed someone, so she got what she deserved, and I understand. We are just getting what we deserve."

We are just getting what we deserve.

While he spoke these words that damned himself to hell, he also made Autumn's heart ache with him.

The child, he truly hated them...

Wayne did not care how his words had hurt the old woman's heart and turned to look out the window.

The night was deep, with no sign of dawn.
