Equilibrium: Bringing God's Light To This Pagan World

Chapter 11: Fort Town Of Vitpacar

"PREPOSTOROUS!" Cedric shouted as he saw the town in front of him.

These creatures, no these filthy demons dared build a city so similar to human cities.

Deception, this was all a deception.

Perhaps enslaved humans were forced to build such walls, but he still did not believe the insides of this fortress were made so similarly to these walls.

It was meant to lure humans into a den of demons, that was it.

Such vile creatures would use such underhanded methods to tempt humanity.

'I so wish to raze this town to the ground, but the human army requires a triumph of their own.' Cedric thought.

He would need to be satisfied with the killing of the champion, and giving Aurelia 2 of the demonic champions was admittedly not the wisest decision, but she would be successful.

With a quick activation of [God's Eye], Cedric scanned the entire town, penetrating any and all defenses.

'I see Minotaur, he is located close to the center. He seems to be engaged in conversation with another fallen angel.'

Despicable creature, capable of brainwashing humans. He shook his head as he swept over the other 2 champions.

A more manageable opponent for Aurelia most certainly, while a lot more powerful, Aurelia had a Grand blessing on her with Angel squad protecting her.

Two fallen angels, these despicable traitors of god were engaging in intercourse at this very moment, Cedric was absolutely disgusted. These demons should not be allowed to reproduce in any circumstance.

"Aurelia, you will head to the western part of the town, on top of the tower, in the highest room, you will find two fallen angels engaging in carnal pleasure. Kill them before they even react, this is an ideal opportunity for you to strike hard and strike true." Cedric spoke coldly, his eyes still searching for any noteworthy individuals.

Aurelia had a face of discomfort as she responded, "I understand sir Cedric..."

"The rest of the soldiers shall remain here, they will get slaughtered if they came, and I will not protect them." Cedric turned to the group of soldiers that accompanied them.

"I trust sir Cedric, I know Grahm had sent you to keep me safe but please listen to the great hero." Aurelia supported Cedric, pleading for the group to not follow them.

Fortunately, they seemed to understand how outmatched they would be as they saluted and went to set up a camp nearby.

"We understand lady Aurelia, please keep yourself safe." One of the soldiers spoke before making haste to catch up with the rest of the group.

As the group disappeared into the woods Cedric spoke. "I will go now, I cannot allow that demon to continue existing for longer than necessary. Aurelia if you and Angel squad fail to eliminate the demon duo I want you to activate [Divine Storm] It will buy you enough time for me to get to you."

"Thank you, sir Cedric, I will not fail! That you can be sure of." Aurelia exclaimed proudly, and yet before she could even speak another word Cedric disappeared.

"He could have at least encouraged me more...." Aurelia sighed as she approached the wall.

"How the fuck do I climb these gigantic walls..." She looked up at the walls looming far above her.

She did not have time to think before what she knew was a creature called Archangel picked her up and flew her up on top of the wall in a moment.

'AT LEAST WARN ME DAMMIT. MY HEART ALMOST GAVE OUT!' Aurelia wanted to scream and yet no noise escaped her lips.

She wouldn't want to draw the attention of the guards, and yet it seemed the walls were completely unmanned.

'Did they leave their city defenseless?' Aurelia questioned herself as she looked over the wall and the town behind them.

'Demi-humans sent their entire fighting force, including guards to intercept them, leaving the city completely vulnerable.' It did not make sense, only one question bounced inside her head.

"Why? Were they so sure of their victory?" Aurelia shook her head as her eyes locked onto a tower in the western part of the town, its artistic stone build making it contrast against the wooden houses that took most of the city.

Aurelia's gold-plated armor certainly wouldn't help with stealth, and her skills as a paladin did not help at all as they all produced brilliant light.

Despite her wish to prove herself, she couldn't afford a risk to be detrimental to Sir Cedric.

"Sir Archangel, Is it possible to approach the tower unnoticed?" Aurelia turned to the angel.

The silent angel nodded, "It is possible respected VIP, Creator has found a path we can take to get to the tower undetected..."

Despite Archangel's robotic tone he still conveyed respect and calming tone.

'These creatures put me at ease even if they sound so alien...' Aurelia spoke to herself, almost trying to make herself sure of something she knew nothing about.

"Let us go then." As the words left her mouth Archangel picked her up and with a jump from the wall they proceeded through the assigned back alley leading toward the tower.

'If only the hero would grab and carry me like this....' Aurelia indulged in her fantasies with a heavy blush as she followed after her guard squad.

She would soon strike at demi-human champions and prove herself to the great hero.
