Chapter 6: Chapter 6: Battle with the Brown Bear
Two transformations in one night would exhaust all his strength. If he didn't rest well now, he didn't know if he would lose control and bite the woman in front of him.
The woman's life wasn't important, but her blood was precious.
"I just wanted to take you to the cave. It will be cold tonight, and there will be wild beasts coming," Li Ge said aggrievedly.
In the mountains, she always interacted with her master like this. She didn't know that besides her master, there was someone like this man, who was so unwelcoming.
Li Ge's hesitant voice made Ling Mo's heart tremble. He didn't expect the woman wasn't trying to escape, but to find a place for him to rest. No one had ever treated him so selflessly. Ling Mo felt a strange emotion rising in his heart. He was used to being all-powerful and controlling everything, and this feeling made him feel at a loss. He instinctively rejected this emotion, so he said coldly, "Get lost. Don't come out before sunrise tomorrow."
Li Ge was a little discouraged. Her repeated attempts to show kindness were still met with the man's cold scolding. This made her, who was already aggrieved, have tears welling up in her eyes. Being in a strange environment, without her master who treated her like her own child, Li Ge felt a knot in her heart and couldn't help but burst into tears.
Pale face, tearful eyes, and delicate red lips bitten because of suppressing her sobs. Ling Mo raised his eyes and saw this scene that made him pause.
His heart skipped a beat, and Ling Mo's flat voice became slightly different, even he didn't notice it. The man explained, "I'm doing this for your own good."
Receiving the explanation, Li Ge also knew that the man had reached the limit of his patience. She sniffled a few times and slowly got up, moving towards the cave.
"Wait…" Just as she took two steps, the man called out.
Li Ge was puzzled. Before she could ask, she reflexively caught the thing the man threw over. After a closer look, it was a small porcelain bottle. She looked at the man questioningly.
"Healing ointment."
Realizing the man was referring to the wound on her butt, Li Ge's pale face flushed red. She limped away, her steps becoming more and more erratic.
Watching Li Ge walk away in a flustered manner, a faint arc appeared at the corner of Ling Mo's mouth.
Before he could suppress his smile, the familiar pain came as scheduled. His mouth stiffened, and his pale green eyes gradually deepened, mixed with a crazy blood red.
Li Ge, who was struggling to apply the ointment to herself, heard a faint wolf howl. The mournful roar made people tremble involuntarily. Clang, the hand holding the porcelain bottle shook, and the bottle shattered to the ground.
Li Ge didn't have time to look at the ground. She hurried towards the outside, Li Ge was always sensitive to sounds. She could recognize people or animals with the sounds she had heard. And she had heard that sound last night.
The man said she would naturally see the wolf tonight, and it was true. Listening to the painful and fierce howl, for some reason, Li Ge felt a panic. She didn't want to see either the man or the wolf hurt.
Stumbling towards the source of the sound, as expected, it was the place where the man had been resting. Was the man and the wolf really fighting?
The more Li Ge thought about it, the more anxious she became, and her steps were also chaotic. She wanted to know what was going on and didn't hear the spirit mink chirping incessantly behind her.
When she saw the scene in front of her, Li Ge froze in place.
The moonlight was extremely bright, and the holy light shone on the clean grassland. She saw a wolf howling at the sky in the middle of the grassland. Its fangs emitted a cold glow in the moonlight. After the mournful howl, there was a helpless moan. Li Ge stood still, watching the wolf clawing at the ground with both paws, its thick paws covered in blood, but it still swung its paws without knowing the pain. Its sharp fangs also bit at itself vigorously, leaving blood everywhere.
Seeing the wolf self-harming, Li Ge completely forgot that it was a wild beast that could bite her neck at any time. She shouted loudly, "Stop!"
The wolf seemed to not hear Li Ge's trembling scolding and continued to bite itself. The wounds that were already bleeding profusely became even worse. The bright red blood stimulated Li Ge's eyes in the moonlight.
She didn't care about Xiao Hei pulling at her pants. She said softly, "Xiao Hei, let go of me."
After saying that, she forcefully pulled away the spirit mink and strode towards the wolf.
Awooo… hiss…
Seeing Li Ge walking towards it, the wolf finally regained some consciousness. It looked up at Li Ge and howled, baring its teeth, the meaning of warning was obvious.
For some reason, Li Ge wasn't as afraid of the wolf as she was yesterday. Looking at the green eyes with blood red in them, she tentatively reached out her hand and said softly, "Don't bite yourself."
Awooo…
Seeing Li Ge reach out, the wolf took a step back, howled, and showed its fangs towards Li Ge from time to time.
Li Ge flinched, but when she saw the almost uncontrollable pain in the wolf's eyes, she resolutely moved forward. Finally, she stood in front of the wolf that was staring at her.
"Don't bite yourself."
Li Ge's outstretched hand was trembling, it wasn't fear, it wasn't gloating, it was an unspeakable heartache.
"Um…" Just as her hand was about to touch its head, the wolf bit Li Ge's hand that hadn't scabbed over yet.
It really hurt!
The wound that had stopped bleeding was torn open again. Li Ge knew her hand had been pierced this time.
After drinking the woman's blood, its sanity began to recover. The blood red in its green eyes gradually faded. It raised its head and saw Li Ge frowning and looking at its slender palm in its mouth.
Slowly releasing its mouth, the wolf looked at the woman who was constantly blowing on its hands with a complex expression.
Stupid woman! The wolf thought resentfully.
But its wolf eyes kept looking at the woman's body huddled because of the pain. Finally, it reluctantly stepped forward towards Li Ge.
Li Ge sighed with relief when she saw the wolf's eyes no longer filled with rage.
"Ya? Are you better now? It seems my blood is really useful," Seeing the red in the wolf's eyes disappear, Li Ge temporarily forgot the pain and exclaimed happily.
Gently licking the woman's palm, the wolf turned its head away proudly.
Li Ge laughed at its movements, and couldn't help but chuckle.
