Chapter 84: Chapter 84: I wish for more icecream
"Oops."
Grand Priest's eyes widened in surprise as Zeno proposed making friends with Kahn—something he hadn't expected at all. But soon, the Grand Priest understood why Zeno would offer such a proposition.
As the supreme ruler of the Dragon Ball world, Zeno was a being of absolute authority. However, his supremacy had also led to his profound loneliness. His position was so high that the Gods of Destruction trembled before him. They didn't dare approach him with an equal attitude, let alone engage in casual conversation.
So, after spending time with Kahn, Zeno felt genuinely happy. He had enjoyed their conversation immensely. Unlike the others, who could barely speak in his presence without trembling, Kahn had spoken to him without fear or hesitation, never once lowering himself to please Zeno. For Zeno, this was refreshing—Kahn treated him like a friend, and that was something Zeno greatly valued.
"I didn't expect you to ask for friendship," Kahn said, stunned by the request.
"Can you! Can you?" Zeno's eyes sparkled with anticipation as he hovered closer, his small face full of hope.
"Of course I can."
Kahn finally snapped out of his surprise, smiling warmly. He extended his right hand to Zeno, "I'm honored to have you as a friend."
"Hehe!" Zeno's face lit up with joy. He eagerly grasped Kahn's hand with his tiny one and said in a childlike voice, "You're my first friend!"
"First friend?" Kahn raised an eyebrow.
Zeno nodded excitedly. "Since we're friends, I'll call you 'Viridis' from now on!"
"Viridis?" Kahn repeated, confused.
"It's an endearing nickname," Kahn explained with a smile.
"Oh, that's it! Then it's decided! I am happy!" Zeno exclaimed joyfully.
Grand Priest, observing the exchange, was taken aback. He had never seen Zeno so genuinely happy. It seemed that Kahn's ability to connect with Zeno was far beyond what any other being had achieved. Even the Gods of Destruction had failed to bring Zeno such joy.
Once the conversation wrapped up, Zeno gave Kahn a small vial of "Zeno Summoning Dew" as a gift, claiming it was a token for his new friend. Kahn, though skeptical about its usefulness, graciously accepted the gift.
As they exited the Zeno Palace, the Grand Priest turned to Kahn. "Kahn, today was the first time I've ever seen Master Zeno so happy."
Kahn, caught off guard by the comment, responded with a quiet smile, "It's nothing. I just did what I felt was right."
The Grand Priest, slightly amused by Kahn's humility, waved his hand. A space vortex appeared before them. "You should head back now. I wish you a peaceful life."
"Thank you," Kahn replied, nodding in acknowledgment. Without further delay, he stepped into the vortex, returning to Earth.

Back on Earth, Vados was waiting eagerly for Kahn's return.
"Honey, you're back!" she exclaimed, rushing toward him.
Kahn smiled reassuringly. "It's fine, don't worry."
Relieved, Vados sighed in relief. She had been anxious, especially with the prospect of Kahn meeting Zeno.
After calming Vados, Kahn noticed Champa sitting despondently on the ground, his mood completely deflated.
Kahn walked over and squatted down beside him. "Why are you so sad? You should be happier."
Champa, already on the edge, grew even more depressed. It felt as though Kahn had sentenced him to an inevitable fate, reminding him of his failure.
"Don't you just want me to forgive you for trying to destroy me? That's easy enough," Kahn said, his tone firm but not unkind.
He patted Champa's shoulders. "If you collect all seven Super Dragon Balls and give them to me, I won't hold a grudge."
Champa, who had been wallowing in despair, suddenly brightened up, his hope renewed. "Really?! You'll forgive me if I collect all seven Super Dragon Balls?"
Kahn nodded. "Of course. Do I look like someone who holds onto petty grudges?"
Champa was practically jumping for joy. "Thank you! Thank you, Master Kahn! I'll collect all the Super Dragon Balls as quickly as I can and bring them to you!"
"Better hurry," Kahn said with a hint of warning. "My patience is limited."
He then shifted his tone. "Now, get out of here. Don't disturb me and my family."
"Yes... yes! Master Kahn, I'm leaving right away!" Champa stammered, trembling with relief as he rushed out, dragging Alice with him.
---
Just then, Rados ran over, holding Shin in her arms. "Daddy! Daddy!" she called out, her voice full of excitement. "What are the Super Dragon Balls you just mentioned?"
Kahn immediately softened, switching to "loving father" mode. He patiently explained, "The Super Dragon Balls are magical spheres that can grant any wish, no matter how big or small."
Rados blinked her bright eyes, full of wonder. "That sounds amazing! Can I make a wish?"
Kahn chuckled and gave her a warm hug. "Of course, what would you wish for?"
Rados thought for a moment and then said with a big grin, "I want more ice cream!"
Kahn laughed. "That's an easy wish to grant. Just ask your mother Bulma!"
Vados watched the exchange with a smile, her heart full of warmth. The sight of her family's happiness reminded her of the prophetic dream she'd once had—a dream of a peaceful and fulfilling life.
---
Years passed. The Earth entered a period of peace, and life for Kahn's family became more joyful and fulfilling. Son Goku had successfully achieved Super Saiyan 3, while Son Gohan ascended to Super Saiyan 2. With their progress made, Kahn decided it was time to let them train on their own. He no longer pushed them as hard as before, choosing instead to spend time with his family.
Although Kahn could easily train Goku to achieve Super Saiyan Red or even Super Saiyan Blue, he didn't see the need. Goku would eventually train with Whis when Beerus returned to Earth.
As for Vegeta, after three months of training with Kahn, he had mastered the fundamentals and decided to continue his training independently. He often sparred with Goku in between their respective training sessions.
---
Spring came and went, and six years passed in the blink of an eye. On May 7th, 774 of the Dragon Ball timeline, the twenty-fifth World Martial Arts Tournament was set to begin.
