Dragon Ball: A Better Bulma

Chapter 20: 20: King Pilaf and Yamcha.

"Why are you in my house?" Oolong asked the trio who had recently arrived at his castle.

Worried mothers and fathers had long since brought their daughters to his house, freeing Oolong from the torture he had caused himself through his foolishness, but he never expected to see Goku, Bulma, and Chi-Chi at the entrance.

"First of all, here, for your head," Bulma raised her index finger, creating a ball of purple ki that she shot at Oolong, specifically at his head.

The pig tried to dodge, but the difference in strength made it impossible and he could only watch as the strange energy landed on the wound on his head, but instead of feeling more pain, he felt a warm sensation spreading throughout his body.

The pain, dizziness, and other ailments caused by the head trauma were healed in him, and if he could see through his body, he would notice that the crack in his skull was also disappearing.

"Ah, how comfortable, worthy of being a good quality wife material," Oolong said rudely, but seeing how Goku held his red staff in a threatening manner, Oolong waved his hands.

"I'm sorry, I'm sorry, I didn't mean to offend you," with beads of sweat on his face, Oolong managed to apologize to Bulma and the others.

"Didn't anyone tell you that these comments are not good? What little charm you have will be ignored when others hear your words," Chi-Chi said mercilessly, causing Oolong to lose color.

"How did he do that?" Goku asked curiously at the graying Oolong, but Bulma just shook her shoulders.

"Maybe it has to do with his ability to transform," Bulma thought for a moment and gave a plausible answer, and Oolong, who had returned to normal, nodded.

"It's a side effect of not fully learning the transformation technique, certain mood swings affect my body, too bad I got expelled from school," Oolong commented with some embarrassment in his voice before turning back to the others.

"Seriously, why are you here?" asked Oolong, and Bulma became serious.

"Do you know a place where we can fight openly? A certain enemy is approaching and we don't want to draw their attention to the village" Bulma's words made Oolong laugh at first, but when he saw the seriousness of not only Bulma but also Goku and Chi-Chi, he realized that it was not just a bad joke.

"Enemy, you mean something like that Tyrannosaurus Rex?" Oolong was a little worried now, but his usual attitude and his little knowledge of the circumstances only made him think of the only big threat in the vicinity.

"No, that dinosaur was eliminated by us. We mean a much more dangerous enemy" Yes, to Bulma, whoever had the Dragon Balls, even if it was Pilaf, was much more dangerous than a Tyrannosaurus Rex.

Pilaf was a genius, maybe not at the level of her or other great minds, but he was an outstanding genius in mechanics, able to create mechas and who knows what other sci-fi weapons.

If it crossed the little king's mind to use firebombs or weapons of mass destruction, the nearby village could suffer the consequences of such an attack, something Bulma didn't want.

"Dangerous, you say? And you come to my house to lure this dangerous enemy? Are you crazy, woman?!" Oolong shouted angrily, but the little piggy got to the point and thought for a moment before remembering a place.

"Follow me, there's an isolated valley nearby, whatever happens here will only spread between the mountains and not go any further," Oolong transformed into a drone and took flight, leading the rest of the group.

Although the little pig was curious if they could keep up with him, he increased his speed every chance he got, watching as Bulma, Goku, and Chi-Chi constantly ran or jumped to keep up with him.

Even when he reached about 70 kilometers per hour, the trio continued to follow him without missing a beat, causing Oolong to abandon his attempt to taunt them, but he also developed more fear of the group.

Yes, before, his only source of worry was Goku, who had hit him in the head in a sneak attack, but seeing the skill with which the youngsters handled themselves, he knew one thing: if he ever really turned against them, he would not be able to escape.

Even if he transformed into a vehicle, a rocket, or a submarine, he only had five minutes to transform, and then he had to rest for a while before he had another five minutes.

From what he saw in that time, they could effectively track him down and cause him a lot of pain, so the little thoughts he had in his head about playing pranks on them faded away.

Soon, Oolong landed at the entrance of the valley he had mentioned. This was an untouched place with few trees, but full of bushes and grass. When Goku wanted to touch one of the yellow fruits that grew on one of them, Chi-Chi slapped his hand.

"That fruit is poisonous, Goku," the girl said when she saw Goku's hurt face.

"But you didn't have to hit me..." Goku pouted, but his attention was quickly drawn to Bulma's actions.

The blue-haired girl threw a capsule to the ground and when it exploded, a trunk appeared out of the white smoke, the logo of the Capsule Corp. was printed on the front and it seemed to have a small panel.

With deft movements, Bulma typed in a long series of numbers, there were so many that trying to memorize them was undoubtedly an arduous task, but this was only the first step. Bulma put her thumb in a slot and with a beep, a blue light came out of the briefcase and covered the girl's entire body.

"Password correct, fingerprint correct, energy signature correct. Thank you for using me, Miss Bulma!" a mechanical voice came out of the briefcase before the sound of leaking air was heard.

With anticipation, everyone watched as it opened to reveal three pairs of clothes carefully placed inside. One was white with blue, another was black with gold and the last was purple with fuchsia.

In that order, the garments belonged to Bulma, Goku, and Chi-Chi, who quickly took them, showing that they were made up of several parts. A full body suit, a torso armor similar to that of the Saiyans, and some attachments like gloves, boots, belts, and so on.

"Well, come with me, Chi-Chi. Goku, keep an eye on our porcine friend not to spy on us," Bulma said before walking with Chi-Chi to a secluded place.

As Goku dressed, he kept an eye on Oolong, who was particularly uncomfortable with Goku's look, but as if he remembered something, the pig boy snapped his fingers.

"I forgot! My name is Oolong, what's yours?" Oolong asked, causing Goku to pause for a moment, holding the torso armor in his hand.

"Son Goku, but my name is also Kakarot," Goku replied as he put on the armor, which had shoulder pads at his request, he wanted it to be similar to his father's armor.

On the left side of the armor was the logo of the Capsule Corp, while on the back was the symbol 'Sora', representing the martial arts school founded by Son Gohan, and in a small space, the symbol 'Kame', also explaining the affiliation with Muten Roshi.

"What about those girls?" asked Oolong in a low voice, causing Goku to glance at him before continuing to dress, this time placing the cloth he used to hold his magic staff, which he subtly showed to Oolong, causing him to calm down.

"Why are you so strange?" asked Goku curiously.

"What do you mean?" replied Oolong, who turned slightly away from Goku when he saw how Goku held that terrible red staff.

"Strange, with strange, rude remarks, saying words I don't understand, but which are undoubtedly indecent. That's the word, why are you so indecent?" Goku asked directly, causing Oolong to lower his head in silence for a moment before he answered.

"I wasn't like this before, you know, I don't even know why I'm telling you this, monkey boy, but you're strangely nice, but it's still not worth telling you," Oolong looked at Goku for a moment before noticing something strange.

A short time ago, there was sunshine, but now they were suddenly covered by shadows. Looking up, Oolong fell to the ground at the sight in front of him. A huge, technology-looking fortress hovered in the sky.

Its size obscured the sun and several dark cannons slowly pointed in its direction, making the hair on Goku's tail stand on end. At that moment, Chi-Chi and Bulma arrived, fully dressed for battle.

Bulma looked up and felt the ki signatures inside, causing her face to crumple as she felt many energy signatures, some were from ordinary humans, and others were certainly above the level of a normal human.

Moreover, one of them felt special, it was weaker than Goku, no doubt, but its presence was like that of a fierce creature. This Ki even seemed to react to his inspection and shrank, albeit roughly, but that only indicated one thing, there was an outstanding martial artist up there.

"Looks like he came prepared," Bulma muttered as a small smile appeared on her face.

She didn't like the idea of fighting a huge fortress full of technology, she was fascinated by it, she wanted to test her power, but also the power that high technology could achieve when it was used beyond the ordinary.

A holographic projection appeared below the fortress, showing the image of someone Bulma recognized: Yamcha. The tousle-haired young man looked different from what she remembered.

He wore a neat suit, with a dignified bearing that impressed even Bulma, who knew of his existence. This made the blue-haired girl think of all the changes that had occurred in this world because of her arrival, a feeling of uncertainty that might make many reincarnates uncomfortable, but not her.

She preferred the new, the different, rather than simply following the established 'canon'. Before she was another example of the changes this world had brought, and Yamcha spoke.

"In the name of the Great Emperor Pilaf, hand over the Dragon Balls in your possession. They do not belong to you, they must only be used by someone worthy of them, the Great Emperor Pilaf. Failure to do so will result in their summary annihilation," the projection didn't even bother to stay, disappearing as soon as he spoke.

But in the depths of the fortress, the serious Yamcha now trembled slightly as Puar, his faithful friend, patted him on the head.

"It was a girl, Puar!" said Yamcha with fear in his voice, it was obvious that the mighty warrior had not yet overcome his greatest fear, women.

"Don't worry Yamcha, we just have to wait for this Pilaf to get the Dragon Balls and you can make your wish," Puar comforted, causing Yamcha to nod.

"Yes, I just have to seize the moment, with my power, no one will be able to stop me, but make sure you distract that Mai girl. Although, who was that person who was spying on me earlier, could it be that strange boy with the tail?" Yamcha wondered, although he had an idea who it could be, he didn't think too much about it, he didn't want to experience any more fear.

The cannons of the fortress began to glow brighter and brighter, a subtle threat of an imminent attack, but Pilaf, who was watching the transmission of what was happening on the ground, became angry.

How could he not be angry when he saw a pig child pull out his middle finger?

"Fire! Reduce them to ashes!"
