With the qualifiers underway, the Shrek team went first against Heaven Dou Imperial Team. Unlike the original story, they were unable to beat them in under a minute due to the original two teams merging. Therefore they had to contend with Yu Tianheng.

Emperor Xue Ye seeing that Shrek was still a part of his Imperial Academy was pleased although a bit angry that his first team and second team were pitted against each other first. This was definitely pre arranged on purpose by that bastard Salas.

They then faced the Elephant Armored Academy team barely beating them. Tang Zhen was surprised that Oscar's Third soul skill wasn't the flying sausage. Instead it was a generic one that increases speed.

Seeing Meng Yiran with a Third soul skill with a fire attribute, Tang Zhen came two conclusions. First, Tang San lost the fight in the forest which is unlikely. Second, Oscar willingly gave the Millennium Phoenix Tail Crest Serpent to Meng Yiran earning favor points from her.

Seeing their intimate embrace after winning the fight, the latter seemed to be the most logical.

"Oscar, you might be worth saving from that group after all." Tang Zhen thought actually impressed.

The other development this early in the game was that in order to beat Huyan Li, since there was no martial fusion skill from Dai Mubai and Zhu Zhuqing, Tang San was forced to reveal his Haotian Hammer earlier than the original causing Xue Ye to be even more confident in this team.

The Tyrant Empress Team ended up going against two no name academies. Maybe by sheer luck of the draw since Salas was focused on them after his encounter with Yu Xiaogang and the pope token.

But Tang Zhen purposely drew attention as he could afford to do so now, to bait out a certain person here. He fought 1v7 against both teams beating then in under a minute.

His plan worked as he was going out for a stroll outside on the street when he turned a corner and experienced some Deja vu. Smirking, he keeps going until he knows that he is outside the city, then he turns his head.

"I know you're there. Come out."

Shi Nian got up from his seat and just for show Tang Zhen threw a kunai at his illusionary body.

Then feeling like his senses were being distorted, he acted like he was lost searching for him.

Shi Nian was enjoying the scene of a genius who will soon die from insanity in his Brutal Dreamland but was so enamored with himself that he failed to see Tang Zhen's change in eyes.

With his Sharingan, he could see through Shi Nian's illusion. While letting Shi Nian let his guard down thinking he was still trapped in the illusion, he got closer and closer to him until he was standing next to him and without hesitation turned and stabbed Shi Nian in the heart with a Chidori.

"Y-You! That's impossible!" Shi Nian died on the spot.

"Fool." Tang Zhen then destroyed his body and picked up the Fantasy Wisdom Skull Bone. He would give it to Ning Rongrong after the tournament.

Returning back to the group, he explained what happened and gave the skull bone to Ning Fengzhi for safe keeping.

Back at the arena, the Shrek team was facing Chi Huo Academy for the third round. Using his Xuantian skills, Tang San was able to carry the team but in the end he needed to rely on his Haotian Hammer to stop Huo Wu's Fourth soul skill resulting in his injury. But Dai Mubai was able to end the round. Huo Wu still upset that Tang San stopped her attack grew a grudge against him.

Luckily this time, for the fourth round, Shrek drew a small academy instead of Cang Hui Academy being able to win without Tang San and substituting in another member who was unfortunately injured. Not wanting to reveal Ma Hong Jun just yet, they forfeited the next two matches.

Ironically it was the Tyrant Empress team that drew Cang Hui Academy this time. Although being prepared ahead of time knowing what Cang Hui Academy wanted to do, the fight ended in less than a minute with Shui Bing'er using her First soul skill instantly freezing the Cang Hui team and having Zhu Zhuqing, Xiao Wu, and Dugu Yan finish the icicles off.

On the way off the stage, the remaining girls and the Dean of Tian Shui Academy were furious that Shui Bing'er got even stronger and was looking even more beautiful.

The next round was Shrek vs Tian Shui Academy. Without Shui Bing'er, they were easily picked apart by Dai Mubai's fourth soul skill.

As the Tian Shui Academy walked off in disgrace, they caught Shui Bing'er staring at them coldly. She then scoffed and turned around walking over to hug Tang Zhen from behind. Furious at her attitude, they left the arena.

The Tyrant Empress team's final opponents was Shen Feng Academy who put up a much better fight than all the others so far but the combination of Shui Bing'er and the the other girls was too much for them. Feng Xiaotian was not able to unleash his full power before being defeated since he was frozen as well.

At the end of the the qualifiers, the Tyrant Empress team, Blazing Academy, Shrek Imperial Team, Tian Shui Academy, and the Lei Ting Academy received their qualification certificate and after some words from Emperor Xue Ye and his wishes for them to do well in the ranking competition, they all left to prepare.

Outside, the girls and Tang Zhen came across an interesting scene. Huo Wu stopped Tang San to challenge him to a battle without martial souls.

Tang San seeing Xiao Wu agreed to try and show off stopping Huo Wu's kick and knocking her back. Looking back up at Xiao Wu was disappointed when he saw she was clinging to Tang Zhen's arm while he was rubbing her head as they walked straight past them. Ignoring Huo Wu who was threatening him, he reluctantly left with the rest of Shrek.

Flander was the only one left behind as he was somehow able to secure more sponsors now that they have a twin martial soul master on their team with the Haotian Hammer. He was left laughing like a maniac to himself.

Yu Xiaogang on the other hand was livid. His plan to keep Tang San from having to use the Haotian Hammer backfired. He didn't expect that they would have that much trouble during the qualifiers.

Tang San, thought back to the battles these past few days. Realizing the limitations of his Blue Silver Grass, he was having second thoughts. Wondering if his teammates catch up to him by level 70, would he still be ahead without the use of his personal skills? Even now he wasn't that far ahead. Unlike the original story, his eight spider legs external soul bone was stolen by Dugu Yan and he had never found the Immortal Herbs. Although he still got lucky somehow with a crowd control skill for his fourth ring, it was purple.

A few days later Ning Fengzhi showed up with a handsome man to the camp the Empress team was at.

"Father! Brother Qinghe? Is that you?" Ning Rongrong exclaimed in surprise.

Tang Zhen was also surprised to see Xue Qinghe, or Qian Renxue here. Knowing her identity, he made every effort to not meet despite repeated invitations. Looks like his luck ran out. Despite him wanting to meet her later, it looks like it would have to be sooner. Right now he had no way to stop the Soul Master Hunting Plan the Spirit Hall wanted to execute. Although he brought Dugu Bo to the Seven Treasure Glazed Tile Clan, he wasn't sure if that would be enough.

The only way he could lessen the damage, was he introduced some kunai and shuriken launchers and since they were much easier to manufacture than the Tang Sect hidden weapons and Tang Zhen had no issues with sharing that with Ning Fengzhi, they were already in production albeit in secrecy. After all Ning Fengzhi was going to become his father-in-law and the Seven Treasure Glazed Tile Clan would become his family too. 

"Rongrong it's been a long time." Xue Qinghe replied with a smile.

Looking at the rest of the team that his teacher was placing his faith in, his eyes landed on Tang Zhen as he walked up to greet them. While Qian Renxue was aware of her own beauty, she never really found an interest in men as it was difficult to find one worthy of her. But seeing Tang Zhen, she couldn't help but blush.

Tang Zhen seeing the blush on a "man's" face wanted to puke but held it in and introduced himself.

After exchanging pleasantries, Xue Qinghe and Ning Fengzhi departed but not before Tang Zhen handed him a note.

Soon, the drawing for the results of the first match of the ranking competition was out. Liu Erlong came and told them that their first team was the Heaven Dou Imperial Team. Hearing this, he know this was the time for Dugu Yan and Ye Lingling to shine.

After Shrek defeated Barak Academy, it was not their turn. The Blue Tyrant Empress team although not directly sponsored by the royal family was still from the Blue Tyrant Academy in the Heaven Dou Empire. If they won, the Heaven Dou Empire would still gain some recognition hence why Emperor Xue Ye was interested in them too.

Finally meeting Yu Tianheng on the other side, Dugu Yan felt nothing. She no longer held feelings for Yu Tianheng. She was fully in love with Tang Zhen now and would show how much she had grown. 

Ye Lingling was in a similar boat although she did not like Osler, he always chased her. She wanted to show that she was no longer the weak support soul master who constantly needed protection.

"Yan Yan, it's been so long I've missed you. Why did you leave me back then? Did your grandfather force you to keep your distance from me?" Yu Tianheng asked.

"Yu Tianheng, we no longer have anything to do with each other. And don't call me Yan Yan." Dugu Yan said coldly surprising Yu Tianheng. He thought that Dugu Bo forced them apart. Was he wrong?

"Lingling, how are you? Have you been taking care of yourself?" Osler asked.

"Mhm" Ye Lingling replied with no expression.

"Yan Yan please. I still love you!" Yu Tianheng tried again.

Dugu Yan tired of his antics, walked over to Tang Zhen and standing on her tippy toes, kissed him in front of Yu Tianheng.

Yu Tianheng did not love Dugu Yan, he coveted her for her body but beyond that, he was only tasked to get closer to her by his clan. Seeing her kiss Tang Zhen, his demeanor immediately changed.

"Hmpf. I always knew you were a whore. Looks like all one needs is to look good to be able to lay with you." he sneered.

"YU TIANHENG WATCH YOUR MOUTH YOU BASTARD!" Dugu Yan roared.

"Did I say anything wrong? You obviously like him for his looks. Is he your new boy toy? I never loved you anyways. I was told by my grandfather to get close to you so that Dugu Bo would be less hostile to our clan. I was planning on having using your lovely body before we formulated a plan to kill your grandfather. But since that plan failed, we no longer have to keep pretending." Yu Tianheng said with a smug smile.

Although Dugu Bo was a titled Douluo, his grandfather was level 95. The renowned Thunder Douluo. He was unaware Dugu Bo improved and was now at level 94.

Dugu Yan enraged, was about to charge before she was pulled into a hug by Tang Zhen. After he whispered some soothing words, she calmed down. He was right, she shouldn't fight with rage as it would only cloud her judgement.

After asking for a team battle, Emperor Xue Ye accepted it.

As the fight began, Ning Rongrong boosted the both Dugu Yan and Ye Lingling with Strength, Agility, Spirit Power, and Defense Amplifications.

"First soul skill. Red Jaded Scale Poison." Dugu Yan released her poison affecting the Imperial Team.

"Third soul skill. Thunder Fury." Yu Tianheng released his third soul skill to clear the poison mist away from his team. It also boosted his lighting abilities.

Not seeing where Dugu Yan was, he heard some sort of swirling sound as he turned around to see her and Ye Lingling with their arms thrust out with what looked like a ball of soul power. Ye Lingling was in front of Osler while Dugu Yan was behind him.

"RASENGAN!" They both exclaimed. As both attacks hit their target, a grinding sound was heard and it tore through their flesh and sent both Yu Tianheng and Osler spinning and out of the arena.

The whole arena was stunned to silence from the other teams and Emperor Xue Ye and Salas were dumbfounded.

Without their team leader, the other members could not hold onto Dugu Yan's poison and was forced to surrender.

As they turned and returned to the team, they were welcomed back by Tang Zhen and their sisters.

Tang San couldn't understand what he just saw. Neither could Yu Xiaogang. All they knew was that it had to have been a self created soul skill.

Next there was a rematch of Shrek vs Chi Huo Academy. Tang San unable to complete his 1v7 run split the team with Dai Mubai and himself. This time, he still stopped Huo Wu's massive fireball at the end but met it head on with his Haotian Hammer again only to be injured once again. Huo Wu seeing Tang San protect her, started to feel her heart beat faster and was worried about him following him to the infirmary.

Next it was the Tyrant Empress Team vs Tian Shui Academy. Tang Zhen turned to Shui Bing'er.

"Bing'er do you want to handle this yourself? It's a good opportunity to close that chapter of your life." Tang Zhen asked.

"Mhm. I do Zhen. I still feel like I have this rage inside. I want to do this so that I can move on and return to your side to give you my full pure love." She said. She was regretful that while she loved Tang Zhen, she harbored a resentment to Shui Yue'er and her past teammates. She needed to finish this.

Stepping forward, Shui Bing'er came across her former best friend Xue Wu. Trying to sway her with false emotions, the Xue Wu began talking about their history together. 

Shui Bing'er with cold eyes, released her first soul skill before promptly launching her off the ring as a frozen icicle. One by one, the team fell to Shui Bing'er unable to over come the level difference.

Lastly, Shui Yue'er was the only one left. They didn't say a word to each other. Bing'er had a look of cold indifference while Yue'er's face progressively formed into a sneer.

Once the fight began, Bing'er launched her first soul skill again. But Shui Yue'er having broken through to level 41 with the resources of the academy and her father countered.

"SECOND SOUL SKILL. ZERO DEGREE IMPACT!" A blast of ice rushed forward meeting Shui Bing'er's first soul skill cancelling each other out.

Forming a smug grin, Shui Yue'er shot a remark.

"My dear sister, it seems you're not that strong anymore. I have caught up to you. I will humiliate you here today." she smirked evilly.

Shui Bing'er indifferently responded.

"And who said that we are on the same level?" 

Soon five rings descended from above her. Yellow, Yellow, Purple, Black, Black.

Unable to believe what she was seeing, Shui Yue'er started to lose her mind as she started screaming while hurling soul skills at Shui Bing'er.

Using a combination of her second skill Ice Ring Armor and her third soul skill Repelling Light, Shui Bing'er continued to observe Shui Yue'er fall deeper into madness and drain herself of soul power.

As the attacks ended, Shui Yue'er was left panting unable to accept the reality her whore of a sister was a level 50 Soul King.

"IT'S NOT FAIR! HOW ARE YOU SO STRONG?! IT SHOULD BE ME! I SHOULD BE WORSHIPPED LIKE A GODDESS! YOU'RE NOTHING!" She screamed with bloodshot eyes. The crowd was watching with a horrifying fascination.

Smiling, Shui Bing'er finally spoke with warmness.

"You fight for yourself. Even when I was there protecting you, I loved you like a sister. But you harbored hatred in your heart. I have new sisters now that I love and also the man of my dreams."

Deciding to end things, she solemnly declared.

"Fourth soul skill. Sub Zero Rain." Suddenly water started to fall around Shui Yue'er who thought it was funny since her martial soul is a Dolphin. But soon she realized in horror that this rain was instantly freezing everything it touched and no matter how she tried to dodge it, she couldn't

"My fourth soul skill is a wide area attack that freezes all within it."

Soon only Shui Yue'er's head was the only part not frozen.

"It's over." Shui Bing'er shed a tear as another black ring descended.

"Fifth soul skill. Black Ice Dragon." Her Ice Phoenix charged straight at Shui Yue'er. As it gained momentum, it changed into a black ice dragon with red eyes.

"I searched hard for this one in honor of the man I love." Shui Bing'er said.

Shui Yue'er seeing the menacing dragon begged for mercy.

"SISTER I'M SORRY I LOVE YOU, PLEASE SPARE ME! NOO!!!"

The dragon pierced through Shui Yue'er leaving her heavily injured.

Shui Bing'er with her kind demeanor, left Shui Yue'er alive as a final gesture to their time together and walked back to the stands.

She walked towards Tang Zhen and buried her head into his chest and cried. She was finally free. After a while, she tilted her head looking up at him and kissed him.

Shrek was up again with Ma Hong Jun beating the School of Florals 1v5 but was unable to the soul master that had fire immunity resulting in him being knocked out. Dai Mubai finished the last two.

Tang San somewhat recovered from his injuries was approached by Huo Wu when she asked to talk in private. Initially wanting to decline, he looked over at Xiao Wu and saw her with her head against Tang Zhen seemingly content. Feeling down, he accepted and they walked to the forest to talk being followed by Feng Xiaotian. 

After their talk, Huo Wu unable to accept that he only saved her because they were opponents and not enemies tried to rush forward but tripped and fell into his arms.

Tang San not a saint enjoyed the feeling of Huo Wu against his body. While she admitted that Tang Zhen was more handsome than Tang San, she had a hero complex. When Tang San saved her, she fell for him instead and since Tang Zhen was already surrounded by girls, she leaned towards Tang San.

Unable to contain herself any longer, Huo Wu kissed Tang San. Initially surprised, Tang San eventually accepted it. Maybe this wasn't so bad and Huo Wu was very beautiful. They walked back to the arena hand in hand leaving a fuming Feng Xiaotian behind.

Back at the Arena, it was the Tyrant Empress team vs Lei Ting Academy.

Tang Zhen stepped forward and decimated the line up leaving only Yu Tianxin.

"If the Tyrant Empress team win one more match, they will have final victory!" The announcer stated.

The instructor furious that a member of their own clan was humiliating them like this wanted to go down and teach him some manners to remember where he came from but Yu Tianxin stopped him saying it was only a fight and that none of the members were killed and that he would take care of it.

The audience was excited for the final match. This was a match that would be exciting. Blue Lightning Tyrant Dragon against Blue Lightning Tyrant Dragon. The weather all of a sudden turned cloudy as Thunder started to appear.

"Tang Zhen! You have to pay for what you have done!" Yu Tianxin roared.

"Hn. And what have I done exactly?" Tang Zhen gave the classic Uchiha response but that for some reason made him sexier in the eyes of the girls. Damn Uchiha genes.

"Our school is sponsored by our family. You should have enrolled here. Instead you enrolled in that waste of a school run by that damn whore!"

Liu Erlong was getting pissed but soon the Thunder started erupted more and much stronger.

Tang Zhen furious this trash called his woman a whore started to emit a deadly Thunder. 

Yu Tianxin reaching up called forth his dragon, as it descended, four rings lit up around him. Yellow, Yellow, Purple, Purple.

The crowd always liked seeing the top beast martial soul as it displayed power.

Scoffing, Tang Zhen released his martial soul and an even bigger dragon that was more pure in Thunder energy almost like a white blue descended as five rings appeared. Purple, Purple, Black, Black, Black. He wanted to keep his sixth ring a secret for now.

Everyone watched in awe as Yu Tianxin's dragon was almost bowing in front of the superior dragon.

"THAT'S IMPOSSIBLE! I'M FROM THE MAIN FAMILY HOW IS YOUR DRAGON STRONGER THAN MINE?! YOU'RE JUST A COMMONER!" He screamed in rage. His pride wouldn't allow a no named commoner to be stronger than him.

"You're right I am a commoner. Listen and listen well. My name is Tang Zhen. My Grandfather was Yu Landong and my mother was Yu Lanxin. Son to a murdered mother, Grandson to a murdered grandfather, and I will have my vengeance, in this life or the next." Tang Zhen said coldly.

Yu Tianxin and the instructor were so shocked that they were speechless. They knew those names. Commoners who didn't know their station and had to be silenced. That was the way of the clan, the nobles viewed the commoners like slaves to do their bidding as was their duty to the clan.

Yu Tianxin sneered. "So you're that whore's son. I heard she was very pretty, too bad she ran off before the main clan could use her for breeding."

Tang Zhen's girls grew increasingly angry.

Yu Tianxin not wasting time, called upon the Thunder to enhance his body and charged at Tang Zhen hoping to finish him quickly. Unfortunately with the Thunder Body Tempering Technique, Tang Zhen was almost as strong physically as a high level Soul Saint. He just grabbed his fist and started to squeeze. As Tianxin's fist gave way, Tang Zhen tossed him in the air before chasing him with wings of soul power that formed. As he flew above Tianxin, he thrust his palm forward into his stomach launching him back down.

"OCTANE BLAST!"

Yu Tianxin got up. Although the strike hurt, it wasn't anything special.

Tang Zhen not wanting to finish the fight too early only used a fraction of the actual power.

"Wind and rain come as clouds cover the sun. Dragon in heaven. Jade Lightning!" Yu Tianxin called out as he charged Tang Zhen.

Tang Zhen just stood there and as Yu Tianxin got closer grabbed his outstretched arm flipping him over before grabbing his leg and proceeded to slam him on the ground repeatedly.

"Puny dragon." He said as if he was insignificant.

The crowd began to laugh at the display. Yu Tianxin got up and spat out blood never before feeling this humiliated in his life.

"THIS IS IMPOSSIBLE! HOW CAN YOU BE SO STRONG?! I DON'T BELIEVE IT! YOU MUST BE CHEATING! THAT WHORE FROM THE SEVEN TREASURE GLAZED TILE CLAN MUST BE BOOSTING YOU SOMEHOW!" Yu Tianxin shouted angrily.

Tang Zhen's eyes grew cold as this trash insulted his Rongrong.

"FOURTH SOUL SKILL. BLUE LIGHTNING DIVINE DRAGON!" His martial soul appeared as stream of Thunder barreled towards Tang Zhen. But he just stood there.

The crowd thought that he was trying to commit suicide by not doing anything. Thinking he gave up, Yu Tianxin started to laugh maniacally.

"DIE YOU TRASH!"

But what happened next left everyone speechless.

Tang Zhen just stuck out his hand and blocked Yu Tianxin's most powerful attack with just his hand.

Ning Rongrong initially pissed at being called a whore, started laughing uncontrollably.

"HAHAHAHA look sisters that idiot wants to attack big brother Tang Zhen with a Thunder ability HAHAHAHA!" People thought she was crazy until they noticed the other girls in their group laughing and giggling as well.

Getting bored, Tang Zhen just crushed the attack before be he disappeared in a flash and reappeared next to Yu Tianxin who was still stunned from watching his most powerful attack get destroyed like it was nothing.

Soon, he realized Tang Zhen was just staring at him before he threw a punch at him but it was caught and Tang Zhen then slammed his hand down on his arm breaking it.

Screaming in pain, Yu Tianxin threw a punch with his other arm before that too suffered the same fate.

As a last resort, he kicked him with his leg before Tang Zhen caught it and to his horror, proceeded to bring his fist down on his knee snapping his leg. Still unwilling to give up to this commoner, he stood with his only good leg.

"Hoh, you seem a bit unbalanced, let me help you with that." Tang Zhen said coldly before proceeding to kick the remaining leg near the joint breaking it.

Yu Tianxin, the once proud grandson of Yu Luomian screamed in agony as he called out to Liu Erlong for help.

"AUNTIE ERLONG I WAS WRONG PLEASE HELP ME AND I WILL HELP YOU RETURN TO THE FAMILY!"

Liu Erlong furious was about to step into the arena but was stopped by Tang Zhen's hand.

Tang Zhen slowly approached and stood over him like a looming shadow glaring down at him with blood red eyes making him look like a demon.

"Do you yield?"

Yu Tianxin furiously denied never allowing him to surrender to a commoner.

Undeterred, Tang Zhen grabbed him by the collar before he repeatedly slapped him on both sides of his face until it was swollen like a pig. To his credit, Yu Tianxin still didn't give up until the instructor exclaimed they forfeit the match.

While the rest of Lei Ting Academy came to help their leader, they sent a glare at Tang Zhen asking why he never used a single soul skill against Yu Tianxin.

"Because trash like him doesn't deserve the honor of a soul master fight." Then he walked off.

Shrek got lucky again by drawing a by round with the remaining teams advancing to the finals of the Ranking Competition.

Shen Feng Academy once again met the Tyrant Empress team and was promptly beaten by Zhu Zhuqing and Xiao Wu as they took on 4 and 3 respectively.

The finals was now here and it was the long awaited Shrek vs Tyrant Empress teams.

The fights were unimpressive as even though Shrek was strong and came far in the competition, they were just outmatched.

Zhu Zhuqing made a fool of Dai Mubai who kept screaming with indignation that his fiancé was treating him harshly for another man. She then took matters into her own hands kicking him straight in the balls knocking him out. Glaring at the other men she heard whispers from making comments about her body, they all shivered covering their own parts as she walked off.

Tang San was unable to resist Xiao Wu's charm ability as he was naturally attracted to her anyways and was thrown around before Xiao Wu knocked him to the ground.

Ma Hong Jun staring lecherously at Dugu Yan was found running away from her the whole match being chased by green snakes before eventually getting caught and Dugu Yan repeatedly stomping on him for leering at her.

Oscar was defeated in a professional manner by Ye Lingling with the use of her Rasengan.

Jiang Zhu was defeated by Ning Rongrong the same way.

Tai Long who was literally aping at the sight of Shui Bing'er and drooling was turned into a gorilla icicle before she kicked him back to his team with a ridiculous look on his face when he was frozen.

Lastly Meng Yiran was courteously knocked off the arena by Tang Zhen who had no conflict with her ending the match.
