Chapter 12: Chapter 12: Sketching Class [Part 1]
Dekisugi's father and Dekisugi's mother looked at Dekisugi's disappearing figure, and Dekisugi's father scratched his head in confusion before asking Dekisugi's mother.
"That child… have you noticed that Dekisugi seems to have become a lot cleaner and more organized? It's really strange."
However, the two didn't dwell on the matter for long, as they still had to prepare for work.
Although Dekisugi was only eight or nine years old, Japan's education system was highly competitive, and Dekisugi had always been very diligent. So, neither of them thought much of it and hurriedly went about their preparations.
Dekisugi was running down the road toward the school.
For some reason, even though his body hadn't changed much, he felt three times lighter after starting to work out.
While thinking, he lightly kicked the wall and performed a crisp backflip.
But the downside was that just from that one backflip, Dekisugi's foot muscles were slightly strained, and he could feel the soreness in his heel.
Shaking his head, he reminded himself not to be too ostentatious and continued walking slowly toward the school.
Since Shizuka's house was closer to the school, even if Dekisugi or Hara woke up earlier, Shizuka might have already left for school.
Today was no different, but Dekisugi happened to meet Shizuka right outside her house.
Seeing Shizuka, who was closing the door with her schoolbag on her back, Dekisugi paused for a moment and waved to her.
"Morning, Shizuka!"
"Huh?" Shizuka turned around, a bit confused as to who was calling her so early. The voice sounded familiar, but she was still a little sleepy.
"It's Nobita." Dekisugi said with a smile.
For some reason, seeing Dekisugi made Shizuka really happy, and she hurried over to greet him. The two walked slowly toward school, chatting along the way. Since they both woke up early, they had plenty of time.
Since there was a sketching class today, or as it's commonly called, the painting class, Shizuka was looking forward to it.
She was happy to chat with Dekisugi, eagerly anticipating the time when they'd go outside to draw.
Even though they were walking slowly, it didn't take long for them to reach the school gate.
Then Dekisugi handed Shizuka the diary he had prepared earlier.
"Shizuka, this is my diary. Take it and read it when you get home."
Dekisugi handed it over nonchalantly, as there was nothing shady in it. He'd checked it from cover to cover last night. There was also an added benefit—after reading it, Dekisugi had organized his recent memories little by little, making him seem more natural, as if he was a different person rather than a child.
"Oh, okay! Thanks, Nobita!" Shizuka said happily, accepting the diary.
It seems girls, no matter the age, always have a bit of curiosity.
Seeing Shizuka's excited expression, Dekisugi pretended to be calm, but couldn't help twitching the corner of his mouth.
"Shizuka, you're trying so hard to hide your excitement… it's a bit obvious."
"By the way, Nobita… here's my diary. Take it back with you." Shizuka blushed as she handed him her diary. Dekisugi didn't really understand what was so embarrassing about it, but accepted it and figured he'd take a look at it that night. After all, who says boys don't have a bit of a gossiping spirit?
Dekisugi shrugged and walked with Shizuka into the school building. Meanwhile, it was already 7:40, and Nobita had just woken up, still not having packed his schoolbag.
"Nobita! Nobita! Get up!" Doraemon muttered to himself, frowning as he looked at Nobita, still lying on the floor.
"Sure enough, for Nobita, being gentle isn't enough. I'll have to try something else." Doraemon took a deep breath and, with his big mouth, shouted right into Nobita's ear.
"Nobita!!! You're going to be late!!!"
The whole house seemed to shake with the force of the shout, but Doraemon was careful to control the volume so it wouldn't hurt Nobita's ears. After all, Doraemon was a cat-shaped robot from the 22nd century!
"Ah!" Nobita was jolted awake and quickly sat up.
"What's wrong, Doraemon? Why are you yelling so loudly? You ruined my dream."
In the dream, he had been with Shizuka… hehehe.
As soon as Nobita said this, he couldn't help but twitch in embarrassment, completely forgetting that Shizuka had exchanged diaries with Dekisugi the day before.
Doraemon closed his eyes, annoyed, and pointed to the alarm clock on the desk with his chubby finger. It was already 7:45, and their class started at 8:00. Doraemon had to go through this every day, and it was starting to wear on his patience.
"Huh?" Nobita looked at the direction Doraemon was pointing.
"It's 7:45, Nobita. Why are you still asking about it?" Doraemon said, still holding back his frustration.
Before Doraemon could respond, Nobita suddenly shouted.
"Ah!!! It's 7:45! I'm going to be late! Oh no!"
Now Nobita reacted, quickly cleaning up his schoolbag and washing up. But there was one thing Nobita didn't forget.
He grabbed the see-through sticker Doraemon had lent him the day before.
Nobita had figured out how to use it the night before. By sticking it on something, he could see its contents.
All Shizuka's homework was about to be his… ahahaha.
Nobita couldn't help but giggle at the thought.
Even before fully waking up, Nobita had already planned to use Doraemon's gadget.
