Doraemon: Reborn As Dekisugi

Chapter 11: Chapter 11: gadget: Perspective Stickers

"What kind of letter should I write to Uncle?" Nobita sat at the table, biting the end of his pencil, completely at a loss for words. Writing anything resembling an article was beyond him. "Forget it, I'll just write something simple." With a resigned sigh, Nobita began scribbling down a letter.

**"Dear Uncle, thank you very much for the automatic pen you sent me.

Sincerely,

Nobi Nobita."**

Relieved as if he had just solved a monumental problem, Nobita quickly folded the letter, slipped it into an envelope, and affixed a stamp. He leaned back in his chair, feeling accomplished. But just as he was about to celebrate, doubt crept in.

"Doraemon!" Nobita called out, turning toward his robotic friend who was immersed in a manga.

"Huh? What's the matter?" Doraemon glanced up, his face puzzled.

"Doraemon, do you have any gadgets that can help me see through this envelope? I'm afraid I might have written 'Nobi stupid' instead of 'Nobi Nobita.' But the stamp is already on it, and if I tear it off, it'll be ruined. So...please?"

Nobita, already concocting plans for potential pranks, let out a mischievous chuckle. He couldn't help but anticipate what kind of gadget Doraemon might pull out this time.

Doraemon sighed, frowning as he eyed the envelope. "Honestly, Nobita, you're hopeless. Fine, but remember—use it responsibly and no pranks!" He rummaged in his iconic four-dimensional pocket and finally pulled out a gadget that looked like a yellow shell with buttons and a small drawing board.

"What's this?" Nobita asked, blinking in confusion.

"This is a 'Perspective Sticker.' If you attach this special sticker to the object, you can see through any packaging or covering to view the contents inside. Watch."

Doraemon took the envelope from Nobita and placed the sticker on the lower right corner. He pressed a button, and the contents of the envelope were displayed on the gadget's screen.

Squinting, Doraemon read aloud: "Wild... Bi... Dog... Male?! Nobita!" He slapped his forehead, utterly exasperated.

Nobita laughed awkwardly. "Oh, come on! Those words look almost the same. Let's just call it a day—time for bed. Hehehe. By the way, let me borrow that gadget for a bit, Doraemon."

Before Doraemon could protest, Nobita turned off the lights and dived under the covers.

The next morning, Dekisugi was already up, as was his habit. He always believed in starting the day early, and this diligence carried over from his past life as well.

Back then, the crushing weight of work, life's relentless pressures, and an uncertain future had nearly broken him. Those memories now made him cherish his student days, where life was blissfully free of survival stress.

Determined to excel in the martial arts department, Dekisugi used his points to enhance his fighting skills to an entry-level mastery. While his physical fitness hadn't visibly improved, his muscle memory now reflected years of rigorous training. His punches and kicks carried the precision and efficiency of a seasoned martial artist.

However, the body of a fourth grader came with its limitations. Extended use of advanced techniques could strain his muscles, leading to severe exhaustion if overdone. But Dekisugi was unfazed. He would climb every hurdle, one step at a time.

After rolling out of bed with practiced ease, Dekisugi grabbed his schoolbag and headed downstairs. His mother, Tamako, greeted him with her usual bright smile.

"Good morning, Dekisugi! Breakfast is ready. By the way, how's your preparation for tomorrow's test? Confident?" Though phrased as a question, her tone radiated assurance. Dekisugi's consistent academic excellence left little room for doubt.

"Of course, Mom! I'll definitely score full marks and be at the top of my class." Dekisugi hesitated briefly before continuing. "By the way, Mom, I wanted to ask for your opinion on something."

Tamako tilted her head curiously. "What is it?"

"I'd like to learn how to draw manga in my spare time. I promise it won't affect my grades." Dekisugi's voice carried a hint of nervousness as he waited for her response.

Tamako laughed softly. "If your grades stay as perfect as always, then I have no objections!" She paused, her expression growing thoughtful. "You've always been so mature for your age. Sometimes, I forget you're still just a child."

Grateful for her trust, Dekisugi quickly finished his breakfast, slung his bag over his shoulder, and waved goodbye to his father before heading to school.

As Dekisugi walked through the familiar streets to school, he couldn't help but reflect on his current life. It was strange, almost surreal, to live as a fourth grader while retaining memories and knowledge from his past life. But he saw this as a second chance—an opportunity to grow stronger and smarter, to become someone who could protect himself and those he cared about.

At school, the usual buzz of excitement greeted him. His classmates were chattering animatedly about the upcoming test, with some sounding nervous and others overly confident. Dekisugi's calm demeanor stood out among the chaos.

"Hey, Dekisugi!" A cheerful voice called out. It was Nobita, looking as clumsy and carefree as ever. "What do you think will be on the test tomorrow? Any tips?"

Dekisugi smiled slightly. "Just study the basics and focus on what the teacher emphasized in class. You'll do fine if you put in the effort."

Nobita groaned. "Effort, huh? That's the hardest part!"

Despite himself, Dekisugi chuckled. He admired Nobita's ability to find joy even in the smallest things. It was a reminder to Dekisugi to balance his goals with the simplicity and happiness of childhood.

As the school bell rang, the students filed into their classrooms. Dekisugi took his seat, ready to tackle the day's lessons and challenges with determination.
