Chapter 75: Incomprehensible truth.
Odin got off from his mount, the eight-legged horse, Sleipnir and it was almost the same as the one in the novel. He looked at the distance and then Mykel and Elena landed right behind him and wondered why he had brought them there.
"Do you see how big Midgard is?" Odin asked as the wind blew fiercely on top of the Yggdrasil tree.
"Yes, it's the same as the one on Earth. Or should I say that Midgard is a part of Earth in the first place," Mykel answered as he looked at how vast Norway, Sweden, Denmark, Finland, and Iceland were. "So all of this is your territory?" Mykel asked.
"Yes, and our realms are in a different realm from your Earth. It has always been like that since the beginning. Only those who are chosen can see what the others can't see, and this is what they saw," Odin answered as he looked down at the mess Thor and the others made. "But, do you see that mountain over there, the mountain that was tall enough to match the Yggdrasil tree?" Odin asked as he pointed at the distance.
Mykel and Elena squinted their eyes and looked through the thick clouds. They then saw the peak of the mountain that Odin mentioned, and they were surprised when they saw how big it was.
"You should know what that is," Odin glanced at Mykel.
"Mount Olympus, the Greek Gods," Mykel answered and he still couldn't believe what he saw.
"Do you understand now, what kind of realm you are in?" Odin asked.
"The Realm of Gods," Mykel answered as he tried to look at the other side and saw a floating island in the far distance. "All the Gods are connected with each other. They're the reason how Earth is shaped," Mykel continued.
Mykel was overwhelmed by it and he decided to spread his wings and flew up high into space. He found out that the Realm of Gods wasn't a sphere like how Earth was. The realm was flat and all the continents, countries, and seas were seen like inside a map. The Gods could fly like him and looked down to check everything with their own two eyes.
He then wondered what lies on the edge of the Realm of God, and so he decided to fly away to check. Elena was curious about it as well so she followed Mykel to the edge. What they saw made them smile and chuckle because there were so many types of hell below Earth.
"Father, this is the best thing I have ever seen," Elena said.
Mykel hummed in agreement, and then he looked up at the space. He wondered if there was another realm or layer above the realm he was in. The realm of The Lord, and perhaps other beings that they never knew existed. After they were satisfied with what they saw, they came back and landed right behind Odin. Stay connected with empire
"Do you know a being called The Lord?" Mykel asked without hesitation.
"Who doesn't?" Odin scoffed as he turned around to look at Mykel. "We also know why you got brought back to Earth, Mykel Alester. We know everything because the messengers came to inform us," Odin continued.
Mykel wondered who those messengers that Odin mentioned were.
"Messengers? You mean angels?" Elena asked.
"That's what you guys called them, yes. There are seven angels who watched over the seven continents. There are also seven powerful demons who live and lurk under the seven continents," Odin answered as he looked at Elena. "You won't be able to see them, not unless you're allowed to. Not even we, the Gods of Earth can see them without their permission," Odin continues.
Mykel immediately realized that the Gods of mythologies were nothing compared to angels.
"Are you bound by their rules?" Mykel asked.
"Angels? No. We have been living side by side with them for as long as I can remember. They're here because the Lord wants them to observe and make sure it stays in order," Odin answered and brushed Sleipnir's mane. "This world is ours, Mykel Alester. The Earth belongs to the Gods. We are the ones who created this," Odin pointed out.
It was hard for Mykel to digest the information that he received. If Earth belonged to the Gods of mythologies, then what was the Lord doing there, and why did people worship them? If in the end, people on Earth worship the Lord, what was the purpose of those hellish worlds below and heavens around him?
"Your mortal mind can't comprehend the knowledge. No matter how powerful you are, how invincible you are, or even if you become immortal, your mind can't deal with the knowledge," Odin said and looked at Mykel's troubled expression. "But a promise is a promise. I'll tell you the truth, the truth that you can understand," Odin continued.
Odin sat down on the branch and rested her back against it. He enjoyed the breeze with his eyes closed and silently listened to how peaceful the world he created was. He then opened his eyes and saw Mykel and Elena staring at him, waiting for him.
"We are the Gods of Earth. That should be enough for a clue," Odin said. "What beyond this, they're not ours," Odin continued as he pointed at space.
Mykel and Elena looked up at the vast universe above them, and how quiet it was.
"There's another realm beyond. The realm for the Gods who created the universe. The elder Gods, our ancestors live up there," Odin explained. "Ymir and all those who have ascended are up there. Not just him, but Khaos and all the primordial Gods of the Greeks," Odin continued.
"They're not here?" Mykel asked with his eyebrows furrowed.
"They have ascended, living up there, ruling different realms. Their realm isn't the highest, and the highest would be where the Lord resides," Odin continued. "The realm that nor you nor I can see, only those who are chosen are able to see it. I believe you saw a glimpse of it, the door that led to the realm of the Lord," Odin continued.
Mykel finally could see the big picture of how vast the universe was and how little he knew about it. He realized how insignificant he was, and the humans if there were billions or even trillions of realms that existed beyond Earth. The Lord had little to no care for what would happen on Earth, and releasing him wasn't a problem.
"We are just ants on the desert, nothing more, nothing less. We are insignificant to them but crucial to mortals. Order and balance, Mykel Alester," Odin continued as he got up onto Sleipnir's back. "That's all the answers I can give you. Perhaps, you'll be ready for other answers once you understand the world we are living in. You can stay for as long as you want, but don't try to bring Nidhoggr to your side this time," Odin continued and then flew away.
"It's a good thing we came here. I don't think there will be anyone else as knowledgeable as Odin. I remember correctly that Zeus is dumb, and he's just a musclehead," Elena said as she put her hands in her trousers' pockets.
Mykel chuckled as he shook his head. "Anyway, let's head back and meet with the others," Mykel said as he exhaled deeply.
They both went back to Valhalla and looked at all the mess. So many Asgardians were watching the Valkyries and the Einherjar fix the palace. Jeanne and the others were also watching on the sides as they enjoyed the mead and the delicious meat.
As Odin entered the palace to check the conditions inside, he saw a woman crossing her arms as she leaned on the pillar. A woman with long black hair, green eyes, and red plump lips stared at Odin with her eyebrows raised.
"I heard what happened, so I hurriedly came here," The woman said in her soothing voice.
"You already know what's happening, you just decided not to get involved. You need to stop sleeping with men and women of Asgard, Loki," Odin replied as he kept walking to his throne.
Loki chuckled softly and then she glanced at Mykel and started smiling at him. She suddenly blocked Mykel's path and the others and leaned toward Mykel's ear.
"If you're free, come with me in the garden. I have more valuable information than Odin," Loki whispered and then disappeared.
Elena looked at Mykel and said, "I'll tell everyone about what we know. You can go."
Mykel nodded and then left to meet Loki in the garden.
