Chapter 38
The next morning, after Mark was done doing his morning ablutions including his routine work out, he waited for Sam to arrive since he received a text from him that he would be coming in a few minutes.
While waiting, Mark continued on his thoughts of allowing Sam to join him on his Dungeon Dive. After a few minutes of consideration, he decided to go ahead with it, once he received an item that would give a skill to the holder. Of course, he would need to talk to Sam about it first vaguely and if his responses were positive then he would directly tell him about a dungeon appearing.
Mark thought that it would be better to find another location for the Dungeon Main Entrance instead of using his bedroom door. He also decided not to tell Sam about him able to level up and just tell them that he received a unique item, like a ring, that was soul branded, meaning only he can equip it, that gave him the skill Identify, allowing him to view item’s stats and powers. It meant that he would just be like them but have more skill because of his many items that he got from doing the dungeon first.
Mark also thought of the excuse he would give if he was asked why he did not share the dungeon information from the start and did it alone. He could just wing it and probably tell Sam that he got engrossed in doing the dungeon and just decided to share it at a later time. More than likely, the excitement of exploring a dungeon would make Sam just shrug off the fact that he was selfish at the beginning.
When Sam arrived, Mark let him in. He invited Sam to eat and served him a full set of replicated meals. Sam ate with gusto and kept praising the food then they talked about the current state of the media download content and that of course, there were still tons to do. Sam said that he could use one or two more laptops. Mark agreed and gave forty thousand dollars to him.
Mark was actually getting worried about replicating the same fifty thousand dollars over and over again. He would still need to do a lot of things that required a lot of money that he couldn’t afford to get entangled with the authorities about same serial number money. He decided that after running the dungeon today, the next day, he would resume his work on replicating items that he could sell.
Mark equipped his dungeon items then proceeded to the Sixth Floor. He suddenly remembered that he did use his Swamp of Briar and Bed of Daisies skills on the thugs during the Melissa kidnapping situation and he knew that Sam would put two and two together and would come to the conclusion that it was him who did those things. But then again, even if Sam knew, it probably would not matter in the long run since the only issue was him getting skills earlier.
When he entered the Sixth Floor, Mark saw that it was still a forest. He cast all of his defense buff spells and proceeded to float forward. The first thing that he noticed in the distance were large swathes of spider webs. “The spider monsters has arrived”, Mark thought. He had been expecting the spider monsters for quite sometime now and here they were. He summoned his two Bush Golems and two Tree Golems and commanded them to proceed.
Three huge spiders around five feet by five feet scuttled down from the trees and attacked the golems. One of the spiders actually shat some web to the one of the golems before attacking it. Mark cast Swamp of Briars since it was the only area of effect spell that would not affect the golems. He then proceeded to cast Thorn Whip for damage assistance and targeted one of the spiders using Lightning Void.
When the spiders died, Mark took the loot, kept the green item and destroyed the other one which was a white trash. The third loot should be stat or skill point. He would tally everything at the end of his dive. He cancelled his summons, refreshed his buffs and levitated forward immediately. He wanted to finish the dungeon as soon as possible because he really wanted to reach the tenth floor. He wanted to know what kind of boss he would be fighting and what type of loot he would be getting.
Mark was expecting the next group to be a combination of monsters since that had always been the case on the previous floors but it was still spiders. There was one bigger one on the group of five though so more than likely, it was an elite. He summoned his golems but this time commanded them to stand by and just defend if any enemy got near. He cast Swamp of Briar followed by Void Storm. He then refreshed Floating Sunflower and Bed of Daisies at his location for MP regeneration. He continued slinging his spells especially focusing his single target spells on the elite spider. It took about three cast of Void Storm and two cast of Swamp of Briar to destroy all the minion spiders.
The elite spider though took him a couple more Lightning Void before it died. He waited for the loot to appear and did his usual which was to destroy the white trash item using Material Inventory Destruction skill and to keep the green items. He did receive a brand new item which was a blue item leather shoes. He kept it on his inventory unidentified and continued floating.
The next group was different. They were a combination of kobolds and spiders and two of them were riding the spider. There were six in the group so Mark proceeded to do the same thing, refresh his Space Shield and Bark Skin, summon golems for protection and cast Swamp of Briar, Void Storm and Lightning Void with added Thorn Whip. In the middle of casting spells, he did of course cast Floating Sunflower, Bed of Daisies and if needed Dryad’s Circle for MP regeneration. He did all of those until all the enemies were dead. As usual he kept all the loot that could be kept and destroyed all the others.
