DC Heroes in Marvel

Chapter 302: C262

Switching the ordinary arrow in his hand for a freezing arrow, Green Arrow's face turned cold, his eyes gleaming with ferocity.

He could have used a net arrow, but given Hawkeye and Black Widow's current state, trapping them would have required constant supervision—a waste of manpower.

It was better to incapacitate them completely and leave them behind. Of course, with their resilience, they wouldn't die so easily.

Whoosh, whoosh!

Several freezing arrows flew toward Hawkeye and Black Widow. The two remained expressionless, showing no fear even as the lethal arrows closed in.

Hawkeye raised his bow, intending to shoot down the oncoming arrows. But when they were about two meters away, the arrows exploded mid-air.

An intense chill spread rapidly, freezing the surrounding air and encasing Hawkeye and Black Widow in ice. Their hands and feet were immediately immobilized.

Though controlled by Loki, they weren't fools. As the freezing air bit into them, their faces betrayed slight shock.

Then, the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles struck.

Leonardo brandished his twin katanas, swiftly slicing off Hawkeye's arm that held the bow. Raphael drove his sharp sai into Black Widow's thigh.

Michelangelo locked his nunchaku around Black Widow's neck, while Donatello smashed his bo staff into her legs, breaking them.

"Ahhh! It's too hot!"

Black Widow's body radiated intense heat from the Extremis Virus, causing Michelangelo's nunchaku to start melting.

He felt like he was about to become turtle soup. Staring at Venom, who wielded a massive scimitar, Michelangelo yelled, "Hurry up!"

"On it!"

Venom's scimitar gleamed as it slashed through Black Widow's legs. In one fluid motion, he spun around and, while Leonardo severed one of Hawkeye's arms, Venom sliced off the other.

In mere moments, both Black Widow and Hawkeye were left without limbs—rendered completely incapacitated.

The fall of two Avengers was well-deserved.

Whoosh!

Green Arrow then fired a net arrow. The reinforced net unfurled mid-air, landing over the now-disabled Hawkeye and Black Widow, ensuring they couldn't escape.

Of course, thanks to the Extremis Virus, their limbs would eventually regenerate.

But the energy required for such recovery would drain them significantly, leaving them powerless without immediate medical intervention. In other words, they were no longer a threat.

"Alright, now focus on those aliens!" Green Arrow commanded. "Keep the battlefield contained in Manhattan. Don't let them spread out and cause more damage."

"Got it!" Venom and the turtles nodded in unison.

Arrow then turned his gaze toward Sandman and Hobgoblin , Phil.

Phil, along with Daredevil and Spider-Man, was locked in a fierce battle against Sandman and Doctor Octopus.

Doctor Octopus was manageable, but Sandman posed a bigger challenge. His elemental, sandy form made him nearly immune to physical attacks.

Only Phil's cryo-gun could harm him, and… the fire hydrants lining the street.

Spider-Man smashed open a hydrant, sending a high-pressure jet of water spraying out. But Sandman, having learned from past mistakes, kept his distance and sneered with his gritty, sand-formed face.

"This won't be easy," Spider-Man muttered, his tone tense. Phil nodded, eyes narrowing.

Whoosh!

But Sandman hadn't noticed the outcome of the other battle. Green Arrow and his team had already taken down Hawkeye and Black Widow.

A freezing arrow whistled through the air, exploding just behind Sandman. The frigid blast spread instantly, encasing him in solid ice.

Sandman had just been backstabbed—courtesy of Green Arrow.

The term backstab here is meant literally, referring to an attack from behind.

Spider-Man was surprised but quickly reacted. Pressing his hand against the fire hydrant's outlet, he redirected the stream of water, dousing Sandman, whose body was already half-frozen.

Zzz! Zzz!

Sandman collapsed onto the street on the spot.

It has to be said that, in battles against elemental villains faced by major superheroes, city fire hydrants are like hidden special weapons—especially in Spider-Man's world.

When dealing with Sandman or Electro, fire hydrants are absolute lifesavers.

With Black Widow, Hawkeye, and now Sandman down, only Doctor Octopus remained from the original four Avengers.

Green Arrow, Spider-Man, Venom, and Daredevil turned their eyes to Doctor Octopus. Realizing he was surrounded, Doc Ock froze, his mechanical arms twitching as he instinctively clenched his fists.

Doctor Octopus wasn't going to be much trouble.

All they needed to do was remove his mechanical arms.

Without them, he was as harmless as a chicken without claws.

It didn't take long.

Doctor Octopus's mechanical arms were ripped off, leaving him powerless.

With their hands now free, the group turned their attention to the Chitauri soldiers flying through the sky and the ominous beam of light shooting up from the rooftop of Stark Tower.

Everyone, except Green Arrow, groaned inwardly.

However, thanks to the connection between Anton's clones, they could communicate and even share perspectives. Through the eyes of his other selves, Green Arrow knew the situation was critical, but not hopeless.

Under Batman's command, the alien activity had been contained—barely—within Manhattan.

Special forces, Captain America (Steve Rogers), Thor, the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Venom, and others had surrounded and suppressed the Chitauri emerging from the space portal.

Meanwhile, the NYPD was sweeping through the city, handling any stragglers.

The initial evacuation of Manhattan residents had been a priority. Thankfully, near Stark Tower, there were no civilians left to get caught in the crossfire.

When the attack began, the city's emergency alerts had quickly made New Yorkers—especially those in Manhattan—aware of the seriousness of the situation.

New Yorkers were no strangers to chaos and destruction. Over time, they'd honed their ability to escape disasters efficiently.

Some even went as far as building basements stocked with food, water, and over 300 DVDs—enough to last a year if watching one per day.

As a result, while the battle had caused significant structural damage to the city, civilian casualties remained within an acceptable range.

Still, the top priority was clear: close the space portal.

For that, they were counting on Batman—Anton's primary incarnation.

Meanwhile, it was worth noting that Iron Man and Cyborg were locked in a fierce aerial battle, darting through the skies over Manhattan.

Their fight caught the attention of bold citizens watching from outside the evacuation zones.

But strangely, no one cheered for Iron Man.

Instead, their eyes were fixed on the blue beam of light emanating from Stark Tower.

Many had begun to believe that Iron Man was the true culprit behind the invasion.

Rumors were spreading fast: It was Iron Man who opened the portal. It was him who let the aliens invade Earth.
