Gu Shan and Liu Daxun spent quite some time trying to make Gu Shan's things fit in the house. Gu Shan couldn't help but feel a little guilty seeing how his friend was struggling to create space for him.

"I'll just sell some of them if they can't fit like these old computers,"Gu Shan declared with his arms akimbo and frowned staring at the unpacked cartons on the floor .

"No need to. I'll make them fit. You don't know how excited I am that you decided to move into my place,"Liu Daxun expressed delightedly. He was a cheerful type of guy. Just a little excitement would make his eyes sparkle with a beautiful Duchenne smile painting his face. He and Gu Shan had many contrasting qualities but they were still compatible. Gu Shan was more quiet and cold but contradictorily polite and friendly to those he was fond of.

"And also now that your computers are here we'll create some space and create a little playstation. We'll be playing videogames together when we're free,"Liu Daxun added with a wide grin.

"Mm,"Gu Shan nodded bluntly and gave a little smile.

"By the way how was your trip to Berlin? Did you enjoy? Did you meet beautiful girls?"Liu Daxun asked trying to brighten the mood.

"There were lots of girls but I had no time to look at them,"Gu Shan replied in a neutral tone silently hinting it was not a conversation he wanted to keep going and Liu Daxun was clever enough - he took the hint and became silent.

"Why don't you join me in bed? I can't sleep in peace knowing you're here sleeping at the couch,"Liu Daxun said for the umpteenth time each time his voice becoming more persuasive.

"I told you I'm fine here. I'm not that fragile like you think,"Gu Shan replied in a frustrated voice.

Su Liang was the first person he ever shared the same bed with and still there was always an invisible boundary he created to avoid too much body contact. At times the girl would demand to cuddle with him but immediately she landed in the arms of Morpheus he would break the contact and move away. He couldn't help it. It was an innate habit.

Liu Daxun wasn't convinced that Gu Shan would be able to spend the whole night at the couch,so he perched himself on the couch's armrest hoping to spend some more time persuading his friend to go to bed.

Gu Shan was already under the quilt on the three seater couch .

"It's not like I'm sleeping on the two seater couch or on the cold floor . I'm feeling comfortable here. Besides I'll buy my own mattress tomorrow,"Gu Shan argued.

"I don't think you're down to earth like you always say,"Liu Daxun said mockingly.

"Isn't sleeping on the couch down to earth?"Gu Shan questioned in a sarcastic tone.

"It's more like I'm special and can't sleep with others,"Liu Daxun mocked him and laughed out loud seeing the defeated facial expression on Gu Shan's slightly covered face.

Gu Shan snorted and kicked his friend off the couch's armrest.

"Go to your own bed. Didn't you say you have bad sleeping habits? Do you want me to find them out?"Gu Shan challenged him.

"No! No! I'd rather not have you in my bed,"Liu Daxun protested and rushed into his bedroom shouting 'goodnight' before the atmosphere was filled with total silence.

Gu Shan was woken up by high pitched sounds similar to those of acoustic drums being played. The sounds irritated his ears and he stirred uncomfortably on the tiny space he was sleeping on. He tried covering his ears but the damage had already been done. The sound had penetrated into his mind and now kept replaying and this irritated him more.

He threw the quilt and got up with a darkened facial expression. He really wanted to confront the offender. Liu Daxun rushed into the living room wearing his silk pajamas. Gu Shan was glad he wasn't the only suffering the effect of those sounds.

"Let's go,"Liu Daxun instructed and Gu Shan followed him compliantly.

When they stepped outside,Gu Shan spotted some of the neighbours standing on the corridor that separated the houses on Side A from those on Side B. The architecture was almost the same as those in the school dorms except that the houses were larger than dorm rooms and less congested .

The neighbors were crowded outside a particular door banging the door.

"Mu Xuanfei if you don't stop playing those damn drums I will break your door and throw away those drums!"A hoarse male voice threatened and was backed up by overlapping voices each yelling different curse words.

"That's Mu Xuanfei,he sometimes plays drums in the middle of the night. We usually gang up on him to silence him,"Liu Daxun whispered to his friend as the two watched the drama unfold from a distance.

"Why don't you file a complaint against him?"

"He's the landlord's son and the landlord is pretty much like him. She's a noisy hornbill there's no way she would understand us,"Liu Daxun said jokingly.

"How long will it take for him to become quiet ?"

"It depends on his mood. Let's move closer,"Liu Daxun suggested and they walked towards the others.

To their surprise,the high-pitched sound suddenly faded and the corridor was silent again. But the corridor was filled with a series of strange sounds. A series of erotic sounds was heard and everyone began looking around in search of the source of the sounds.

"Do you usually gang up on such kind of people too?"Gu Shan whispered jokingly and Liu Daxun burst out laughing earning everyone's attention.

"The walls are too thin. We can't blame them,"one of the boys who seemed to be their leader said and walked away making them disperse.

Just then two familiar boys walked towards Liu Daxun and Gu Shan - one of them was smiling while other remained silent .

Gu Shan froze at the spot when his eyes met the approaching silent guy's eyes. Those familiar dark eyes - Li Yunxi's eyes.

"Daxun you really can't stop laughing,"the smiling guy spoke and Liu Daxun laughed even more as if he had been motivated by the comment.

"Who is this?"Xiao Hui asked gazing at Gu Shan with interest and inquisitiveness.

"Oh. He's my friend. He just moved in. He's Gu Shan,"Liu Daxun introduced him, his expression shifting to a serious one.

"ShanShan these are my friends. This is Xiao Hui you can call him Hui -ge,"Liu Daxun continued.

"Hui -ge ,nice to meet you,"Gu Shan stepped forward and bowed slightly with a polite smile.

"Nice to meet you too,"Xiao Hui responded with a charming smile.

"This is Li Yunxi. He and I are of the same age but since you're slightly younger than him call him Yunxi -ge ,"Liu Daxun explained.

Li Yunxi was equally surprised to see Gu Shan again and in such a scenario. He felt awkward and mortified but he did his best to hide it.

"Yunxi gege,nice to meet you,"Gu Shan spoke endearingly with a playful smile. Everyone was surprised by his actions. His smile widened seeing Li Yunxi's reaction. There was nothing worth irritating a guy than having another guy address him in an endearing manner. And Gu Shan was determined to irritate and annoy him to the core.

"Yunxi gege?"Xiao Hui repeated the words and chuckled in amusement,"I've never heard anyone call him that."

"Hui -ge , I'll see you guys in the morning,"Liu Daxun said still embarrassed by Gu Shan's actions. He grabbed Gu Shan's hand and dragged him away.

"What was that back there?"Liu Daxun whisper- yelled at his friend immediately they entered their house.

"What was what?"Gu Shan questioned back ignorantly yanking his hand from Liu Daxun's grasp.

"You're always polite to others I've never seen you tease anyone."

"He had an expressionless face so I thought I should make him at least make a reaction,"Gu Shan revealed with a playful smile.

'You've really changed,' was all Liu Daxun said and shook his head in disbelief walking to the bedroom. Gu Shan threw himself on the couch and stared at the ceiling ,the incidents of the neighborhood dramas replayed in his head. When he recalled what he had just done and Li Yunxi's mortified reaction,a victorious smile crept to his lips .

"Yunxi gege,"he chuckled in amusement. But the guy had awakened something in him - a side of himself he never knew he had.
