Time passed slowly, and before anyone realized it, three days had gone by since the Alchemist Grand Meeting.

Outside the door, Mo Yu and Hai Bodong stood, frowning slightly as they looked at Xiao Yan, who had been in seclusion for days.

Both of them were well aware of the significance of this three-year agreement to Xiao Yan, and they also knew how determined he was in this seclusion.

However, a few days had passed since he began, and they were both anxiously awaiting the results.

Compared to Hai Bodong, though, Mo Yu was much calmer.

Mo Yu understood Xiao Yan's strategy very well: with the help of a Fourth-grade elixir, the Three-Line Green Spirit Pill, he could break through to Da Dou Shi, thus gaining a definitive edge over Nalan Yanran in their duel.

Indeed, this strategy laid a solid foundation for Xiao Yan's victory. Without the power of Da Dou Shi, defeating Nalan Yanran would have been difficult.

Just as Mo Yu was thinking about this, a loud noise suddenly erupted from the silent room.

Startled, Mo Yu and Hai Bodong exchanged glances before smiling. "Finished?"

As soon as the words left their mouths, they heard Xiao Yan's laugh from inside.

"Hmm, Hai Lao, cousin Mo Yu, thank you both for waiting."

After Xiao Yan spoke, Hai Bodong pushed the door open, and Mo Yu followed him inside. He scanned the room before his gaze landed on Xiao Yan, and he smiled lightly. "Judging by your aura, it seems you've reached Da Dou Shi?"

Xiao Yan nodded slightly. Having just advanced, his aura wasn't entirely concealed yet.

Seeing this, Mo Yu nodded in satisfaction. "With the strength of a Da Dou Shi, this time's duel with Nalan Yanran should be certain."

"I hope so," Xiao Yan replied solemnly, a determined gleam in his dark eyes.

"Haha, I got something just now."

Hai Bodong pulled an old-fashioned yet majestic cloud-white invitation from his robe. The cover bore a unique emblem: a white cloud pierced by a long sword, radiating sharp sword energy.

"Yun Lan Sect?" Seeing the emblem, Mo Yu raised an eyebrow thoughtfully. "Looks like they're inviting quite a crowd to witness this."

Saying this, he glanced at Xiao Yan.

The three-year agreement was ultimately a duel over an annulled engagement. Would Xiao Yan be seen as overreaching, or would the Yun Lan Sect be humiliated? The outcome of the match would tell.

"Indeed," Hai Bodong nodded, waving the invitation. "This is Yun Lan Sect's invitation to some of the prominent figures and powers in the imperial capital."

"An invitation?" Xiao Yan asked, puzzled.

"You can probably guess that it's because of your so-called three-year agreement with Nalan Yanran tomorrow. The Yun Lan Sect is inviting influential people to witness the event. My guess is they're trying to build up Nalan Yanran's reputation as the sect's future young master. If she wins, her prestige will grow significantly both within the sect and outside of it," Hai Bodong said with a smile.

"Hmph, Yun Lan Sect is overly arrogant. If Nalan Yanran loses to my cousin Xiao Yan, who'll be humiliated then? Surely Yun Yun wouldn't allow this to happen?" Mo Yu wondered.

He had previously warned her in the Magic Beast Mountain Range not to underestimate Xiao Yan—did she just ignore his words?

Moreover, this behavior seemed out of character for Yun Yun, someone typically gentle and calm.

"Maybe it doesn't involve Yun Yun too much. From what I know, Yun Yun isn't in the sect right now. The Elders' Council is handling everything," Hai Bodong said with a shrug.

"Not in the Yun Lan Sect?" Mo Yu nodded in sudden realization.

In the original story, Yun Yun indeed did not appear during that battle due to certain reasons.

"If Yun Lan Sect is so confident, we can't let the Xiao Clan fall behind. Cousin Xiao Yan, tomorrow, I'll accompany you to Yun Lan Mountain. As a member of the Xiao Clan, I can't let others underestimate us."

Mo Yu's expression became solemn as he spoke to Xiao Yan.

"Haha, with cousin Mo Yu here, I'm more than glad," Xiao Yan replied with a cheerful smile.

In the original story, the Xiao Clan was just a small clan from Wu Tan City. Since the previous patriarch's death, aside from Xiao Yan, no influential figures from the Xiao family had appeared in the empire.

During the three-year agreement, Xiao Yan had borne the burden of the entire Xiao Clan alone, going head-to-head with the entire Yun Lan Sect.

But now, with Mo Yu's support, Xiao Yan felt a surge of confidence. With Mo Yu representing the Xiao Clan, he was eager to make his mark.

Seeing Mo Yu step forward, Hai Bodong also adopted a serious expression. To him, both Mo Yu and Xiao Yan were rare prodigies.

Now that the three-year agreement had arrived, the Xiao family's twin dragons were ready to make their presence known in the capital.

The next day, the crimson sun broke free from the horizon and rose high, spreading warmth across the land.

Inside his room, a black-clad youth slowly removed the disguise on his face and stored it in his Na ring. From now on, the identity of Yan Xiao could be set aside temporarily. Now, he was Xiao Yan.

He took off the alchemist robe and put on a deep black cloak, adding a hint of mystery to his refined face.

After splashing his face with cold water, the black-clad youth smiled lightly, then extended his right hand. The Na ring flashed, and a massive black ruler as tall as him appeared.

Gripping the handle, he twirled it skillfully, and a sharp, oppressive aura stirred the air, creating a light breeze in the room. With a soft sound, he slung the enormous ruler across his back.

Dusting off his hands, the black-clad youth turned to the green-clad man by the window, saying, "Cousin Mo Yu, the time has come. Let's set out."

"It's time to go…"

Looking out at the rising sun and hearing Xiao Yan's reminder, Mo Yu felt a wave of emotions.

The three-year agreement, this day of special significance—would he witness it firsthand?

"Yes, let's go. Today, the world will see your true face." Mo Yu chuckled as he looked at Xiao Yan, now fully revealed.

If word spread that Yan Xiao was actually Xiao Yan, it would shock quite a few people.

"Don't worry, cousin. I won't bring shame to the clan," Xiao Yan replied firmly, gripping the massive black ruler.

They stepped out of the room, two tall figures making their way down the inn, careful not to alert anyone, strolling leisurely through the streets and out the city gates. Standing on a high slope just outside the gate, they looked up.

Far off, Yun Lan Mountain loomed majestically, with faint echoes of sword cries soaring skyward.
