Chapter 68: Chapter 68: The Little Fairy Doctor's Thoughts

Chapter 68: The Little Fairy Doctor's Thoughts

"A rock snake? What should we do?" The Little Fairy Doctor trembled at Mo Yu's warning, knowing that this was a top-tier first-rank magical beast.

Narrowing his eyes, Mo Yu stared at the yellow rock snake hovering in mid-air, its triangular eyes glowing with a bloody light. "Hold on to me tightly," he commanded.

"What?"

"I said hold on to me! If you die, I won't be responsible." As he spoke, Mo Yu waved his right hand, summoning a crimson lightning bolt.

The Vermilion Bird's Heaven Flame Thunder crackled to life in Mo Yu's hand, illuminating the cave. The Little Fairy Doctor's eyes widened in awe as she watched the tangible lightning in his hand.

The boy's methods were extraordinary.

With a flap of its narrow wings, the rock snake, eyes full of malice, dove toward Mo Yu and the Little Fairy Doctor, its fangs glinting dangerously in the dim light.

As the snake closed in, the Little Fairy Doctor instinctively tightened her grip on Mo Yu's neck, her legs wrapping around his waist.

With the snake only a few meters away, Mo Yu's Dou Qi surged through his body, and the lightning in his hand transformed into a sword. The Vermilion Bird's power exploded from within, the high-level aura briefly stunning the rock snake.

Seizing the opportunity, Mo Yu swung the lightning sword at the snake's head.

"Zap!"

In the blink of an eye, the snake's head was severed by the lightning sword. The snake's body stiffened, then plummeted into the dark, bottomless valley below.

"That was some powerful lightning," the Little Fairy Doctor muttered as she quickly detached herself from Mo Yu, her face reddening as she recalled the intimate position they had just shared.

Realizing how easily Mo Yu had defeated the rock snake, she understood that this young man wasn't as simple as he appeared. Someone like him had never been seen in Qing Shan Town before.

"Let's go inside and see what's there," Mo Yu said as he retracted the Vermilion Bird's Heaven Flame Thunder, leaving only a small thread of red lightning at his fingertips to light the way. He began walking deeper into the cave.

The Little Fairy Doctor hesitated, staring into the darkness of the cave. After a moment, she bit her lip and followed the boy, feeling safer in his presence.

As they walked through the quiet, dark cave, a faint chill hung in the air, the only sounds being their soft footsteps.

The surrounding darkness made the Little Fairy Doctor instinctively hug herself as she stayed close behind Mo Yu, finding a sense of security in his presence.

"Ah!" She suddenly cried out.

She had been following too closely and had accidentally bumped into Mo Yu's back when he stopped abruptly.

The close contact made her blush, and she quickly stepped back, embarrassed. "What are you doing?" she demanded, annoyed.

Mo Yu, feeling the softness of the previous contact and hearing her alluring voice, felt a surge of frustration. Rubbing his nose, he took a deep breath and pointed to a faintly glowing yellow stone door. "We're here," he said.

Turning his attention away from the door, Mo Yu began examining the stone walls around them.

Seeing his actions, the Little Fairy Doctor seemed to understand and joined him in searching for something.

"I found it!" she exclaimed softly, drawing Mo Yu's attention.

She had crouched beside the stone door, her delicate hand resting on a small protrusion near its base. Pressing it slightly, a creaking sound echoed through the cave as the stone door slowly opened.

As the door creaked open, Mo Yu and the Little Fairy Doctor exchanged a glance. Recalling their earlier encounter, they quickly looked away, then stepped inside.

The space inside the door was surprisingly spacious.

The chamber beyond was vast, simple, and empty. The walls were adorned with moonstones for lighting, and in the center of the chamber was a chair with a skeleton sitting on it.

In front of the chair was a long stone table with three locked stone boxes neatly arranged on top.

In the corners of the chamber, piles of gold coins and other valuable treasures were stacked. The sheer amount of gold, likely worth hundreds of thousands of coins, was staggering.

In the last corner, a small flowerbed had been built with dirt, filled with various plants and flowers, filling the chamber with a unique fragrance.

Seeing the Little Fairy Doctor's eyes light up at the sight of the plants, Mo Yu realized that she was completely entranced by the herbs.

"Go ahead. The herbs are yours. I'll check out the rest," he offered.

"Really?" Her eyes sparkled with joy as she looked at him, grateful but slightly suspicious.

She knew Mo Yu wasn't ignorant of the value of these herbs, and his earlier display of power made her realize she couldn't compete with him. Yet he was willingly offering her these valuable plants, making him seem like something out of a romantic tale.

The thought made her cheeks flush as she gazed at him. She was still a young girl, untouched by the harsh realities her poison constitution would later bring, and she dreamed of a future husband who would shower her with medicinal plants as a token of his love.

And here, in this cave filled with rare herbs, stood a handsome and capable young man, seemingly fulfilling her fantasy.

As the Little Fairy Doctor got lost in her thoughts, Mo Yu approached the skeleton, examining it closely.

Noticing his pragmatic approach, she pouted slightly and turned to start collecting the herbs.

"Oh, there's something here," Mo Yu muttered as he looked at the skeleton's arm, noticing a small scroll hidden within the bones.

"This must be the map fragment for the Purifying Lotus Demon Flame," he thought. He carefully retrieved the ancient scroll and stored it in his ring.

While the map was a nice bonus, Mo Yu's main goal was the contents of the stone boxes on the table.

Taking the three keys from the skeleton's hand, he walked toward the stone boxes, a smile forming on his lips as he focused on the second box.

A flying Dou technique was just what he needed.
