Chapter 4: Chapter 4: Stunned
Adam Wayne looked at the three men standing before him as if they had never seen the world.
He couldn't help but feel a twinge of contempt in his heart.
Bruce Wayne and Alfred's confusion was understandable—they weren't exactly tech-savvy. But Fox? The chief technology officer of Wayne Enterprises? How could even he look so baffled?
With no other choice, Adam decided to explain.
"This is definitely artificial intelligence," Adam began. "Traditional server performance has limits—serious ones, actually. Servers are bound by the properties of the materials they're made from, which prevents infinite performance scaling. And let's not even talk about the heat problem caused by resistance inside the chips."
Adam sighed.
"Anyone who's ever used a high-performance computer knows that the more it runs, the hotter it gets. That's because resistance in the internal circuitry generates heat, which reduces efficiency. Servers suffer the same problem. No matter how good the cooling system is, it can't completely eliminate heat."
He paused and looked at them.
"To solve this issue, I took advantage of a new kind of technology—the bionically inspired quantum state service array."
"It's an application of bionics. It breaks down particles into quark-level microscopic particles, enabling quantum state calculations. Essentially, this artificial intelligence server is comparable to a quantum computer."
Adam finished explaining and looked at the three men.
Fox understood immediately, but Bruce and Alfred were still staring at him as if he had just spoken in an alien language.
"Adam… is what you created really that powerful?" Bruce asked, his voice trembling despite his efforts to appear calm.
Before Adam could answer, Fox stepped forward, his eyes shining with excitement.
"Powerful? Mr. Wayne, this isn't just powerful—this is revolutionary!"
"If what Adam said is true, this technology is another breakthrough in science, something that could rewrite history. I wouldn't be surprised if it wins him a Nobel Prize!"
Fox's voice grew more animated as he spoke. As the chief technology officer of Wayne Enterprises, he understood the true significance of this technology better than anyone else.
Even without the artificial intelligence component, having a computing system equivalent to a quantum computer was groundbreaking.
The gap between this invention and traditional computers was like the difference between modern supercomputers and the primitive models of the past.
It wasn't just a technological leap—it was an evolution.
Bruce Wayne finally snapped out of his daze after hearing Fox's praise.
Fox rarely complimented anyone, not even Tony Stark, who was widely regarded as a genius.
Considering that Fox's Batsuit designs rivaled Stark's Iron Man suits in terms of complexity, Bruce knew the man's standards were incredibly high.
For Fox to speak so highly of Adam's work…
Bruce felt both pride and disbelief.
"So Adam really is this good…" Bruce muttered, smiling as he looked at his son.
Adam rolled his eyes at Bruce's expression.
"Let me demonstrate the most basic function of this artificial intelligence," Adam said. "AI has many uses—from calculations to data analysis—but for now, I'll just show you something simple: facial recognition."
He smirked.
"I'll use it to recreate Bruce's movements tonight."
Bruce's face immediately darkened.
"Impossible!"
He panicked. After all, he had just been out as Batman earlier that night. He was certain his actions had been secretive—impossible to track.
Adam ignored Bruce's outburst and gave the command.
"Skynet, start analysis."
"Yes."
A charming, synthesized voice echoed through the lab.
Almost instantly, a holographic screen appeared mid-air.
The footage began to play—it was surveillance video capturing Bruce's every move that night.
From the moment Bruce descended into the Batcave, to suiting up, and finally heading to the docks to deal with criminals, everything was there in crystal-clear detail.
Bruce Wayne froze.
Alfred's hands trembled, his face pale as if he had seen a ghost.
Fox, though more composed, couldn't hide the amazement in his eyes.
Bruce finally found his voice after what felt like an eternity.
"This can't be happening! Wayne Manor has the most advanced firewalls in the world—even better than Area 51!"
Adam looked at Bruce with the calm confidence of someone who had already anticipated the question.
"In the face of artificial intelligence, any firewall is meaningless," Adam replied matter-of-factly.
Alfred turned to Fox, looking for confirmation.
"Is that true, Fox?"
Fox took a moment to gather his thoughts before nodding reluctantly.
"It's true."
"Artificial intelligence can easily bypass any digital defense. If Adam wanted to launch a nuclear missile right now, we couldn't stop him. Even physical isolation methods aren't as secure as people think."
Fox shook his head and smiled bitterly.
"Honestly, no military robot should ever be controlled by artificial intelligence. Once AI surpasses human intelligence, it becomes unpredictable."
Bruce's jaw dropped.
He knew artificial intelligence was powerful, but this level of dominance over digital systems exceeded his imagination.
The fact that Adam could so easily bypass his security—even Wayne Manor's top-of-the-line defenses—was terrifying.
What bothered Bruce even more was how quickly it all happened.
In less than a minute—forty seconds, to be precise—Adam had uncovered secrets that Bruce had spent years hiding.
Bruce had always prided himself on his secrecy, but now, it felt like everything had been laid bare with the click of a button.
While Bruce stood there in stunned silence, Adam glanced at the group and shook his head.
"Bruce, I didn't expect you to be into cosplay."
He smirked.
"Isn't that something only kids like to do?"
The room fell into an awkward silence as Bruce, Alfred, and Fox all looked away, clearly embarrassed.
