Chapter 13: Chapter 13: Inhumans on the Street! Gwen Spider Shows Her Might!
The strengthened cross-dressing ability, while lacking direct lethality, delivered mental damage that was absolutely devastating.
Lance figured this ability would need to be used with caution in the future.
One wrong move, and someone would be offended to death.
Still, it had its uses.
For example, during private moments with women, it could easily spice things up.
Not to mention—it saved a fortune on clothes.
Not that Lance cared much about saving money.
What he liked was the freedom to create any outfit he wanted instantly.
That alone made the ability pretty awesome.
It was noon when Lance, having just finished lunch, sat in his McLaren P1 waiting at a red light.
Next to him, a cocky rich kid in a Maverick revved his engine, clearly itching to race the moment the light turned green.
Lance didn't even spare him a glance.
The guy had a girl with heavy makeup in the passenger seat—probably trying to impress her.
A Maverick? Against a McLaren P1?
Lance wasn't interested in entertaining idiots.
He ignored the repeated honking as the rich kid tried to provoke him.
Instead, he leaned back in his seat, relaxed, and waited for the light to change.
When it finally turned green, the Maverick roared ahead, tires screeching.
Lance didn't move.
He just smirked.
"That guy's about to have a bad day."
Sure enough, Lance spotted a black Chevrolet barreling down the road from the left.
And it wasn't slowing down.
A quick glance told Lance all he needed to know—police cars were hot on its tail.
Clearly, someone was running for their life.
Seconds later, the Maverick and the Chevrolet collided with a deafening crash.
The Maverick's side crumpled like paper.
The Chevrolet's front end exploded into fragments.
The Maverick rolled onto the sidewalk, narrowly missing pedestrians.
Fortunately, no bystanders were hurt—just the people in the two cars.
Police cars screeched to a stop, surrounding the wreck.
Guns were drawn as officers aimed at the battered Chevrolet.
"Come out with your hands up!"
An officer shouted.
The twisted door of the Chevrolet suddenly burst open with a loud bang.
A bleeding man stepped out, clutching a heavy-looking bag.
"Get back!"
"Don't make me kill you!"
"Drop the bag and get down on the ground!"
The officers shouted more warnings, but the man ignored them.
Instead, he set the bag down with a thud—the weight of it obvious.
"I SAID—GET BACK!"
The man roared.
The police, clearly fed up, opened fire.
Gunfire echoed through the street as bullets riddled the man's clothes.
But then something strange happened.
The bullets didn't penetrate his skin.
Instead, they bounced off, barely leaving marks on his clothes.
The man roared again and charged at the officers.
He wasn't particularly fast, but his footsteps shook the ground like an elephant stampede.
"Inhuman?"
Lance frowned, watching from his car.
It was the second time he'd seen a powered individual in as many days.
The guy Gwen fought yesterday had claws.
Now this one had super strength and durability.
What was going on?
Shouldn't the Inhumans still be hiding?
Why were they showing up out in the open all of a sudden?
The officers were about to get crushed when a web shot through the air.
In an instant, the Inhuman was wrapped in sticky strands and immobilized.
"Spider-Man?"
Lance looked up and saw the familiar figure swinging in.
No—it wasn't Spider-Man.
It was Spider-Gwen.
Gwen fired three more webs, tying the Inhuman down completely.
But it wasn't enough.
The man flexed, roaring as he ripped through the webs like they were nothing.
"Damn bug!"
"Die!"
Furious, the Inhuman turned his attention toward Gwen.
The police?
He wasn't worried about them anymore.
Their bullets had been useless.
"Stop!"
The officers fired again, emptying their magazines.
Bullets clinked off the man's skin, accomplishing nothing.
Meanwhile, Gwen swung through the air, keeping her distance.
She had no intention of fighting him head-on.
This guy was built like a tank—she'd be crushed if he caught her.
"Come and get me!"
Gwen taunted, firing webs to keep the Inhuman off balance.
"Little bug! Hold still!"
The man roared, chasing her but falling farther behind with every step.
Gwen used her webs to hurl trash cans and other debris at him.
Garbage splattered all over the Inhuman.
Now he was both humiliated and furious.
"GET BACK HERE!"
But no matter how hard he ran, Gwen stayed ahead, too agile for him to catch.
Lance leaned back in his seat, amused by the chaos.
Gwen was clearly gaining experience as a crimefighter.
And judging by the way she was handling this guy, she'd learned her lesson from the last fight.
Still, Lance wondered—why were so many Inhumans popping up now?
Was this just the start of something bigger?
He didn't have the answers yet, but he planned to keep watching.
