Chapter 91: Chapter 91: Author's Note
[T/N: This whole chapter is Author's Note so none of its content is written by me.]
Writing this novel has been a rollercoaster ride, full of twists and turns.
Originally, I thought this book would go live on its fourth week after recommendations. By then, I had already given up on making it to the Sanjiang promotion list. I figured the launch would likely happen on a Friday.
To prepare, I deliberately slowed the pace and set up a cliffhanger at the "Manhattan Incident" arc, hoping to make a strong impression.
But then, my editor suggested we aim for a second round of Sanjiang instead. I thought, Why not give it a shot? However, the submission didn't go through.
And so, here we are—launching today.
I'd like to take a moment to thank my editor, Orange, who really did their best for me. Although delaying the launch by a week might hurt the initial numbers, sometimes, you just have to face the storm head-on.
This afternoon marks the start. I'll be releasing 10,000 words as part of the launch update. To all my new and returning readers, thank you for your support. Every single bookmark, every chapter read, every recommendation vote, monthly ticket, and tip you've given has been an enormous source of encouragement for me.
A friend told me that I should "play the sympathy card" to boost subscriptions during the launch.
But after some thought, I decided against it. Stories should connect with readers on their own merits. Sure, a little emotional appeal might help boost the numbers, but if the quality doesn't hold up, the drop-off would be just as sharp later.
I see myself as a merchant, and you, my esteemed customers. If this story suits your taste, please consider subscribing—that's all I ask.

Regarding Bonus Chapters
Even though I'm a self-proclaimed "salted fish" (lazy author), even salted fish can dream, right.
Here's how it'll work:
For every 1,000 initial subscriptions in the first 24 hours, I'll add one bonus chapter. Beyond that, I'll add another chapter for every additional 200 subscriptions.
For ongoing subscriptions, every 300 additional readers will unlock one more chapter.
Monthly votes? Every 300 votes earn a bonus chapter.
Except for the initial subscription bonuses, these conditions will apply throughout the book's runtime. At the end of each month, I'll tally up the totals and announce next month's bonus chapters.

On Tips
As for tips, please don't feel obligated. Subscribing to the chapters is the best support you can offer. Your hard-earned money isn't something that should be given away lightly. If you subscribe, I'm already beyond grateful.

Regular Updates
Today, I'm releasing 10,000 words to kick things off. Afterward, I'll aim for daily updates of 6,000 words. Since I'm not a full-time writer and refuse to pad the story with filler, I ask for your understanding if I fall short at times.

Writing Homelander as the Protagonist
Using Homelander as the protagonist has been... challenging. Now I understand why so many authors just slap a system panel on their characters instead of directly tackling someone like him.
Every day, I feel the presence of the "Great River Crab" (censorship overlords). It's a constant game of cat and mouse, carefully navigating through their ever-watchful gaze. I've had to revise and reconsider countless scenes just to make sure they pass.
But no matter what, I'll keep battling the River Crab Lords, striving to see this story through to the end.
