Antihero In the Hero Academy: I Can Connect the Past Heroes

Chapter 10: Mother of the Night

Nyx was created by Chaos at the beginning of all things and was considered the most powerful of all the gods and goddesses in existence.

Even Zeus, considered the king of the gods, was wary of angering or disrespecting the goddess. Some sources state that Nyx held the leashes of Erebus, who chose not to make himself prominent, and that she was even the one who ensured that all Chaos-Born did not dominate the rest.

Known as the Mother of the Eternal Night, Nyx was said to be the night itself, where the darkness of Erebus covered endlessly.

Her beauty could perhaps be described, but the priests and priestesses who worshipped her, at least those who had the chance to see her, are on record as saying that Nyx's beauty could never be fully described.

Nevertheless, Nyx's worshippers would describe her as follows:

"She was a beautiful beauty with black and purple hair with stars embroidered on it, made of wire thread sewn onto a perfect body created by Chaos's own hands... When you look into the eyes of the goddess, you feel as if you are looking at eternity, life and sovereignty itself. When you hear her voice, you hear the voice of the universe, and when she looks at you, you can do nothing but bow down to her infinite beauty."

Indeed, Nyx was the only one recognised as the greatest of the great.

And she was also the only one who had been following the story of Atlas from the beginning. Inside Olympus, even her own children couldn't understand why their mother kept watching such a child.

Nyx had accidentally found him bleeding and trying to live on one side of the world. This was the moment in Atlas' previous life when he had almost died on his way to the academy.

At that moment, Nyx had chosen to give him a blessing. The young man was in such a sad state in front of the goddess that this woman who had lived since the beginning of the universe wanted to help him.

Even the goddess herself did not know that this was the right decision she had made.

Atlas was there at the fall of kingdoms and empires. He had seen with his own eyes as the gates to heaven opened from the World Tree and every race in the world became slaves. It was he who could not prevent the gates to hell from opening at the Globe, the greatest academy in the world. He was the one who fought at the forefront when the soldiers of heaven and hell, who had sealed their masters, turned the world into a battlefield.

And while all this was happening, Nyx herself was the first to watch everything. The supreme goddess had watched the one she had chosen to support go through the greatest hardships, lose his entire family, and foolishly sacrifice all he had gained for humanity.

Yet even the supreme goddess was limited in what she could do. By the rules set by Chaos, that is, the creator, no god or goddess could set foot on the world, so the great goddess could do nothing but slow down the death of Atlas, whom she only cared about, in his steps towards death.

That's why she took direct action when Atlas died. Even Chronos would not turn down a request from Nyx, especially when it came not only from the great goddess but from Chronos' only friend.

In their eyes, Atlas was the most perfect human being ever born. He was an innocent man who never thought of his interests.

Nyx had hoped that Atlas wouldn't be like this again, which was why she had taken his soul directly when Atlas had sworn an oath to never think of humanity, because Nyx had seen a chance to help him fully.

Atlas instantly closed the ability window and then started to move towards the growling sounds he was hearing again. He was energised to the max now, and really looking forward to creating his first Magic Ring.

With each step he took, the adrenaline and excitement in his body increased greatly.

With the knife in his right hand and the staff in his left hand, he cast a small strengthening spell on himself again and then charged forward.

He suddenly appeared where the shadows came from and saw four goblins in front of him.

In just ten seconds, the throats of the four goblins had already been slit deep enough to see their bones. Atlas was covered in green blood, but of course, this did not impede his progress.

As he started to move forward and went deeper and deeper into the dungeon, the growls became more and more frequent. In addition to this, a few growls could be heard amongst the growls, as if they were more rude and seriously angry.

"Goblin Warrior..." Atlas suddenly muttered. He knew he couldn't kill this monster that fast, even if his body could fight back in its current state.

Immediately he began to grip his staff even tighter and then he looked carefully into the dungeon's partitioned room and then began to cast an ice spell.

Spells like ice magic, fire magic, earth magic and blood magic were very good spells for monsters like goblins that fought on Earth.

Especially when these monsters were goblins, everything was much easier.

"Mighty Demeter, hear my voice to take my mana and give me the power to freeze everything I want...Frozen Floor."

As soon as Atlas said these words, the spell was realised and froze almost half of the room. However, the goblins could no longer move.

Atlas instantly entered the room and ran towards the goblins, whose feet were initially fixed to the floor. Immediately, one by one, he slashed directly at the goblins' throats, and as the ice spell slowly began to thaw, he quickly took a few steps backwards to check the situation again.

There were only six goblins and two of them were Goblin Warriors. He had to be careful, his body was weak now, and one mistake could cost him his life.

Nevertheless, there was no obstacle for him to win.
