Chapter 26: Chat with The King of Monkey Sages
"Greetings, human. I am the King of the Sage Monkeys, the Handsome Monkey King..." the Four-Tails introduced itself with a grand gesture.
"Yeah, no. I'll just call you Son Goku," Daniel cut through the introduction, his tone dismissive.
"How rude. Something to be expected from a huma... Wait a minute, what really are you, and how do you know my name?" Son Goku asked, taking a closer look at Daniel. "I knew it. I could sense some kind of kinship with you, yet you're not..."
"Are you trying to call me a monkey?" Daniel yelled, cutting through Son Goku again, his mask displaying an enraged emoji. "So what if I'm part Saiyan?" he thought, feeling a protest rise within him. "Wait, he can sense that part of me?" His mask now displayed question marks as he pondered this.
"So you linked our minds when I came in contact with your host because you felt I was your kin?" Daniel asked, looking up at the Yonbi.
"Well, not quite so. I simply wanted to ask you something regarding the fight you had with my and my siblings' hosts," the Yonbi replied. "I couldn't help but notice you had no desire to capture us or end the lives of our hosts. Yet, why did you go to such lengths to invoke such a battle?"
"Right, I remember tailed beasts can sense malice and whatnot," Daniel whispered. "You're quite the observant one, aren't you? It's true, I don't particularly have any grudges against your host or your siblings. In fact, I was only interested in obtaining your chakra," Daniel answered.
"Hmm," the Yonbi responded thoughtfully.
"What, not satisfied with my answer?" Daniel said, picking up on the tone in Son Goku's response.
"But with those eyes, I still don't see a need for a fight, especially with that paralysis ability," Son Goku replied.
Daniel chuckled slightly. "You know, it's not like I owe you an explanation for what I do and why I do it," he said. "Maybe I just wanted to fight them," he added, his mask displaying a smug smile.
"Haha," the Yonbi laughed. "Evoking two Jinchuriki to a fight just because you felt like it. Surely, you humans are full of mystery."
"Now, can I ask you something?" Daniel responded.
"Huh? Sure, of course," the Yonbi replied.
"You call yourself the King of the Sage Monkeys, right? Are you referring to the Monkey King Enma and the likes?" Daniel asked. "The one that can turn into an adamantine staff?"
"Ahh, you mean those from Saru Sennin no Mori. Of course, I know them. Why do you ask? Were you sent to give me a message?" Son Goku replied.
"Of course not. Then does that mean there are Monkey Sages?" Daniel asked, intrigued by the name of the forest the monkeys come from. "I wonder what Monkey Sage Mode would look like," he muttered curiously.
"Aren't you one?" Son Goku responded.
"I'm not a monkey," Daniel responded, his mask displaying an angry emoji with steam gushing from its head. "Anyway, are we done now?" he asked, impatience evident in his tone.
"Sure, I don't have any other questions, but I enjoyed our little chat. You should visit again," Son Goku said with a hint of amusement.
"I thought you'd ask me to free you or something," Daniel muttered.
"Your face says otherwise," Son Goku responded, his eyes narrowing. "But I am curious why you wanted our chakra," he voiced.
"Well, all I can tell you is that I've gotten into collecting rare things, and your chakra is enough to satisfy that," Daniel answered. What he thought up once he saw Han and Roshi sparked something in him. He remembered the slanders that went around in Konoha about Naruto being the reincarnation of Kurama. Now, after meeting two Jinchuriki, he thought up something—an experiment similar to Orochimaru's, yet different at the same time.
He pondered, what if he could gather up all the chakra from the tailed beasts and, using some special fuinjutsu, use the extracted chakra as a base? Infusing his own chakra into it, he could increase the Biju chakra, like taking an inflated balloon and inflating it even more. Thus, he could increase the Biju chakra as much as he wanted. After combining it, he would have Ten-Tails chakra, potentially even greater than the original Ten-Tails. But that wouldn't be of much use to Daniel.
So, he figured, why not create a clone similar to how tailed beasts were made? He could use that chakra to create an 'offspring' from the Ten-Tails chakra—a human incarnation of the Ten-Tails. With minor adjustments to its genetic makeup, he could even incorporate Otsutsuki DNA into it, making it immune to things like Ada's omnipotence. Maybe have it grow up along the same generation as Boruto—that could be something worth seeing.
At first, he wanted to create a summoning beast that was of a higher level than the Ten-Tails but less mindless and only caring about eating an Otsutsuki. More intelligent and moe, like the summoned animals such as the toads. His mind was still open to consideration; maybe he could make both since he wasn't in a hurry.
"Plus, this is a nice short-term goal to have. Hunting tailed beasts. I wonder if I'll run into any Akatsuki members? I'll try and get 'em to sign my bingo book," he said with a grin.
"A strange one indeed," Son Goku said as the scene changed, and Daniel found himself back in his mind space.
The scene shifted again, with Daniel still pinning Han and Roshi down. He then let them go. "My playtime is over now," he muttered as he vanished, leaving the Stone Village in confusion. What did the masked man want to cause such an event? And after all that, he left without stealing anything or even making a statement to justify his actions against the Hidden Stone.
Han and Roshi lay unconscious but not fatally wounded. Daniel didn't want to cripple the Stone's forces either. "Could this be? We were attacked by a battle junkie. A person who loves fighting so much they'd go to great lengths just to fight strong people?" an Iwa Shinobi pondered aloud, his companions looking at him as if he were crazy.
The cleanup would take some time, but the damage wasn't severe. After Daniel's departure, the Hidden Stone began repairs and sent all injured personnel to get treated, including the unconscious Jinchuriki and the Tsuchikage.
"Now I just have to wait for my target to reach here, and I can get back to Konoha," Daniel said as he waited by a small house he had made for himself. He had set it along the path he knew Riku would show up on.
