After Being Reborn, I Refuse To Be The Holy Son Of The Sect Anymore

Chapter 33:

Chapter 33:

At the sect competition, Qin Fei could no longer suppress his ambition and finally leapt out to challenge Xiao Yang.

With his cultivation having soared and mastery of the complete Azure Sun Sword Technique, his swordsmanship had improved countless times over compared to three months ago. He was confident that with his current strength, even the likes of Li Xingyao, the Holy Maiden of the Fuyao Sword Sect, would be no match for him.

Possessing the Innate Dao Body, Qin Fei was naturally attuned to the Great Dao. In the same realm, he believed himself to be invincible.

Although his actions the previous day were rash, he had managed to restore his image by attributing his behavior to an unstable state of mind, emotional agitation, and a near-demonic deviation. Now, he presented himself with a humble demeanor.

“Senior Brother, please teach me!” Qin Fei pointed his sword at Xiao Yang.

Xiao Yang smiled faintly, gazing at Qin Fei on the sword platform without responding.

“Is the Holy Son afraid?”

“If the Holy Son loses, his position will go to someone else.”

“Junior Brother Qin Fei sure is daring. He’s only been in the sect for ten years and already dares to challenge the Holy Son’s position.”

The disciples whispered among themselves, their hushed conversations echoing across the plaza.

Xiao Yang heard their words but remained indifferent. They weren’t wrong. If he lost, he wouldn’t have the face to keep his title as Holy Son.

For Xiao Yang, losing meant losing everything. But for Qin Fei, there was nothing to lose. If Qin Fei won, he would claim the title. If he lost, it wouldn’t matter.

What a cunning plan.

“Senior Brother, please teach me!” Qin Fei repeated, his voice firm and cold.

The crowd turned to Xiao Yang, who remained seated, silent, and calm.

Sect Master Jiang Qitian sat upright on his throne, saying nothing. After all, without Jiang Qitian’s tacit approval, no one would dare challenge the sect’s Holy Son.

The Law Enforcement Elder and the Transmission Elder watched intently, their expressions heavy. The other elders stayed neutral, detached from the conflict.

“Senior Brother, please teach me!” Qin Fei called out again, his tone deep and serious.

The entire plaza fell silent. All eyes were on Xiao Yang.

Xiao Yang remained motionless, ignoring Qin Fei.

“Senior Brother, Junior Brother Qin Fei has challenged you. Will you respond or not? At least say something!” Jiang Ting demanded loudly, her tone filled with urgency.

Xiao Yang glanced at her indifferently. He had merely left Qin Fei hanging for a moment, yet Jiang Ting couldn’t wait to stand up for him.

Since defeating Li Xingyao, Xiao Yang’s reputation within the sect had soared. However, his defiance toward Jiang Qitian, his confrontations with the Law Enforcement Elder, and his disregard for the Transmission Elder had left many high-ranking members displeased with him.

Though he bore the title of Holy Son, he had few allies among the elders. And with three of the five elders largely reclusive, only Elder Fang Tang of the Miscellaneous Hall had any direct involvement. The remaining elders avoided taking sides.

Xiao Yang struggled to maintain his composure. If his master wanted to push him aside, so be it. He no longer cared. He would soon leave the sect anyway.

His thoughts were interrupted by Jiang Ting’s outburst: “Senior Brother, you’re too much!”

Xiao Yang turned to her, anger flickering in his chest. “What do you mean, ‘too much’? Does his challenge mean I must accept it?”

“What did you say?” Jiang Ting was stunned.

“If he wants the Holy Son’s position, I’ll let him have it,” Xiao Yang said coldly, directing his gaze to Qin Fei. “Junior Brother, do you want this position?”

Qin Fei was caught off guard. Xiao Yang’s words shook him, and his initial confidence wavered.

“Senior Brother, what do you mean?” Jiang Ting demanded, her voice rising with frustration.

The crowd erupted into whispers, the elders exchanged glances, and Sect Master Jiang Qitian’s expression darkened.

“Silence, Holy Son! Do not speak recklessly!” the Law Enforcement Elder barked, his tone icy.

Xiao Yang closed his eyes, forcing himself to suppress his rage.

“Choose your words carefully, Holy Son,” the Transmission Elder warned.

Xiao Yang opened his eyes, flames of anger dancing within them.

“Speak properly, my disciple,” Jiang Qitian commanded sternly.

Enough was enough.

“I’ve had enough of all of you!” Xiao Yang exploded, shattering his armrest as he leapt to his feet.

“You tell me to mind my words? To speak properly? When someone challenges me so brazenly, you expect me to remain silent? I’ll tell you what—forget it all!” he roared.

The disciples were left dumbstruck by Xiao Yang’s outburst.

“How dare you!” Jiang Qitian’s voice was low and furious.

“Senior Brother!” Jiang Ting’s face went pale with fear and hurt.

Seeing her pitiful expression, Xiao Yang’s fury intensified. I’m not upset, so why do you look so aggrieved?

Qin Fei, on the other hand, felt exhilarated. Xiao Yang, you’re digging your own grave. Don’t blame me for taking advantage.

“Senior Brother, you’ve defied your master, disrespected your peers, and acted disgracefully. You’re unfit to hold the title of Holy Son! Today, I, Qin Fei, formally challenge you!” Qin Fei declared, standing tall on the platform, sword pointed at Xiao Yang.

The crowd was stunned. Was Qin Fei truly going to challenge the Holy Son?

This was no small matter. If Qin Fei won, he would replace Xiao Yang as the Holy Son, the undisputed leader of the sect’s younger generation.

“Rebellious disciple! Is this what you want? Then so be it!” Jiang Qitian spat, his anger barely contained.

“Tch,” Xiao Yang sneered, his disdain clear.

“Rebellious disciple…” Jiang Qitian’s voice trembled with fury.

“Qin Fei, if you want to challenge my big brother, you’ll have to go through me first!” a loud voice rang out from the crowd.

The disciples parted to reveal Lin Wangchuan, the mischievous prodigy who had shocked everyone by defeating Wang Ao the previous day.

Lin Wangchuan stomped onto the platform, glaring at Qin Fei with his hands on his hips.

Qin Fei was utterly exasperated. Why is this troublemaker interfering now?
