Chapter 29:
Chapter 29:
At the peak of Azure Sun Mountain, in the center of the plaza, Qin Fei stood arrogantly on the sword platform. He declared his challenge to all the inner sect disciples present, his attitude overbearing.
The crowd erupted in disbelief.
“He wants all of us to fight him at once?”
Many inner sect disciples were both shocked and furious. They couldn’t understand how Qin Fei, who usually treated his peers with courtesy, could look down on them so blatantly.
Xiao Yang, observing the scene, couldn’t help but smile faintly.
Qin Fei was still as impulsive as ever. Having recently broken through to the Sky Martial Realm, his cultivation had advanced significantly, and it seemed to have gone to his head.
Because Lin Wangchuan had ignored him earlier, Qin Fei felt humiliated. Now, he sought to restore his reputation by challenging all his peers in one fell swoop.
How childish.
Qin Fei’s rashness had offended everyone present.
Still, Qin Fei was undeniably a swordsmanship prodigy in the Sky Martial Realm. He had the strength and confidence to back up his challenge, making the others hesitant to act.
On the sect master’s throne, Jiang Qitian’s expression turned displeased. Qin Fei was being far too high-profile, showing no regard for his fellow disciples. There were better ways to stand out than this.
“Little Junior Brother is so bold!” Jiang Ting cheered enthusiastically.
Xiao Yang glanced at Jiang Ting, her support for Qin Fei stirring mixed emotions within him.
In his past life, he too had stood alone on this very stage, challenging all the inner sect disciples with his sword. Yet, Jiang Ting had viewed his actions as arrogant and conceited.
Now, when Qin Fei did the same, she praised him for his confidence, courage, and boldness.
It was clear. Jiang Ting’s attitude differed based on her feelings.
She hadn’t liked him, so everything he did was wrong in her eyes. Yet, Qin Fei could do no wrong.
Such favoritism was undeniable.
Xiao Yang straightened up, then raised his voice, “Since Junior Brother Qin Fei has invited you all to fight him together, what are you waiting for?”
His words echoed across the plaza, shocking everyone.
What did Xiao Yang mean by this?
As the crowd turned to him in astonishment, Xiao Yang slowly rose, standing with his hands behind his back as he surveyed the audience.
“Are we, the disciples of the Azure Sun Sword Sect, so lacking in spirit? Faced with a strong opponent, do we cower and lose our fighting will? If so, why even practice swordsmanship?”
“As sword cultivators, we must be indomitable, growing stronger in the face of challenge!”
His powerful words ignited the crowd.
“Senior Brother is right! As sword cultivators, we must have the courage to fight!”
“Exactly! What’s so scary about the Sky Martial Realm? Let’s face him!”
“Let’s go together and experience Junior Brother Qin Fei’s skill!”
The crowd’s morale surged, their fighting spirit soaring.
Qin Fei, seeing this, broke into a cold sweat.
Though usually calm and composed, he had lost control of himself today, offending everyone in the sect.
What had gotten into him?
“I, Li Yuhu, request Junior Brother Qin Fei’s guidance!”
“I, Fang Ritian, request Junior Brother Qin Fei’s guidance!”
“I, Chu Haoran, request Junior Brother Qin Fei’s guidance!”
“I, Han Bin, request Junior Brother Qin Fei’s guidance!”
“I, Ye Qingyao, request Junior Brother Qin Fei’s guidance!”
One after another, personal disciples leaped onto the sword platform, declaring their names with voices that resonated through the plaza.
Xiao Yang watched coldly.
Qin Fei, oh Qin Fei, let’s see how you handle this.
Now, Qin Fei was stuck in a precarious position. No matter what he did, he couldn’t pacify the anger of his peers.
In their eyes, Qin Fei had only recently broken through to the Sky Martial Realm and already dismissed them as insignificant. His arrogance stung deeply.
When his cultivation was lower, he had acted friendly with everyone. But now that he was stronger, he looked down on them?
Qin Fei’s carefully cultivated image within the sect had crumbled due to his rashness.
The inner sect disciples now saw him in a completely different light.
“What are you all doing? Bullying Junior Brother Qin Fei together?” Jiang Ting shouted, trying to calm the situation.
“Junior Brother Qin Fei was just joking earlier. Don’t take it seriously!” Fourth Senior Brother Wang Ao also stepped forward to mediate.
“A joke? And we’re supposed to just let it go?” Li Yuhu, Elder Fang Tang’s disciple, retorted angrily.
“You’re going too far!” Jiang Ting countered, her face flushed.
Seeing this, Xiao Yang shook his head. Jiang Ting was just as biased as in his past life, always standing by Qin Fei’s side and defending him.
It no longer affected him. Jiang Ting could protect whoever she wanted—it was no longer his concern.
“You’re saying we’re going too far?” Li Yuhu and the others laughed bitterly.
“He’s the one who challenged us, treating us as beneath him!”
“You’re all ganging up on him—that’s bullying!” Jiang Ting snapped.
“Enough!”
A stern voice rang out.
The next moment, the Law Enforcement Elder slammed his hand down on the armrest of his chair and stood up abruptly. His sharp, penetrating gaze swept across the platform.
Everyone fell silent, feeling the weight of his authority.
Sect Master Jiang Qitian also looked on with a serious expression.
“Are you trying to disrupt the rules of the sect competition? Get off the platform immediately!” the Law Enforcement Elder commanded, his voice thunderous.
Qin Fei, who had been at a loss, breathed a sigh of relief. The elder’s intervention had saved him from his predicament.
“Elder, with all due respect!”
A lazy voice interrupted the silence.
The crowd turned in shock toward the source.
Someone dared to challenge the authority of the Law Enforcement Elder?
It was unprecedented.
Who would dare defy the elder, who oversaw the sect’s rules and punishments?
It was Xiao Yang.
Even Sect Master Jiang Qitian and Elder Cang Xiao looked surprised.
“Holy Son, what do you mean by this?” the Law Enforcement Elder, Lei Lie, asked coldly.
“Did Junior Brother Qin Fei not publicly declare that he wanted to challenge all the disciples here?” Xiao Yang asked calmly.
The elder hesitated. Qin Fei had indeed said that, and in an arrogant tone.
“And did Junior Brother Qin Fei not specifically invite them all to fight him together?” Xiao Yang continued.
Lei Lie was at a loss for words.
Because it was true—Qin Fei had brought this upon himself. His actions had incited the crowd’s anger.
“Therefore, the disciples’ actions have not violated the rules of the competition,” Xiao Yang declared, his voice firm and resolute.
The elder could say nothing.
Qin Fei had issued the challenge, and the disciples had merely responded.
Their actions were entirely within the rules.
Lei Lie glared at Xiao Yang, but Xiao Yang remained calm and unbothered.
After a tense moment, the elder sat back down, clearly displeased but unable to argue further.
“What are you waiting for? Take him down!” Xiao Yang called out to the disciples on the platform.
