After Being Reborn, I Refuse To Be The Holy Son Of The Sect Anymore

Chapter 28:

Chapter 28:

The Azure Sun Sword Sect’s competition produced an unexpected upset.

Lin Wangchuan, the senior disciple under Elder Gufeng, the custodian of the sect’s library, defeated Wang Ao, Sect Master Jiang Qitian’s fourth disciple, in a single move.

This shocked everyone.

No one could believe Wang Ao lost to Lin Wangchuan.

Only Xiao Yang understood the depth of Lin Wangchuan’s abilities. Wang Ao’s defeat was a humiliation of his own making.

Lin Wangchuan’s future achievements would be remarkable, and this moment of brilliance left the inner sect disciples in stunned silence. For a while, no one dared to step forward to challenge him on the sword platform.

Just as the crowd hesitated, a figure leaped gracefully onto the stage.

It was Jiang Ting, Sect Master Jiang Qitian’s only daughter.

“Senior Brother Lin, please guide me!” Jiang Ting bowed respectfully to Lin Wangchuan.

“I’d be delighted to play with you, Junior Sister!” Lin Wangchuan responded cheerfully.

He often sought companions to play with, but few were willing to entertain him. Jiang Ting was one of the rare individuals in the sect who treated him kindly.

Sitting on the sect master’s throne, Jiang Qitian watched the duel with a grave expression.

Xiao Yang also observed Jiang Ting. In just a few days, she had advanced to the peak of the Divine Ability Realm and was close to stepping into the Half-Step Sky Martial Realm.

It seemed the Water Spirit Pills Xiao Yang had painstakingly acquired for her were quite effective. However, six pills weren’t enough to push her into the Sky Martial Realm.

In his past life, Jiang Ting had consumed three full bottles of Water Spirit Pills and still required Xiao Yang’s help to barely break through to the Sky Martial Realm.

Xiao Yang knew it wouldn’t be long before Jiang Ting came to him for more pills.

In his previous life, Jiang Ting had shown him a bit of kindness, and he’d given her the remaining pills without hesitation, even exhausting his vital energy to help her break through.

And what did he get in return?

She blocked his sword aimed at Qin Fei, sacrificing herself to save him.

He, in turn, was run through the heart by Qin Fei’s blade.

Expressionless, Xiao Yang watched Jiang Ting on the sword platform.

In this life, he wouldn’t lift a finger to help her. If she wanted to break through, she could go to Qin Fei.

On the stage, Jiang Ting made her move.

Water-element sword energy burst forth from her, forming sharp blue sword shadows that danced around her.

“So beautiful…” Lin Wangchuan clapped his hands in delight.

“Let me give it a try too!” he said, mimicking Jiang Ting’s technique as he activated the sword energy within him.

To everyone’s astonishment, the moisture in the air condensed into shimmering droplets that floated around Lin Wangchuan.

“This…” Jiang Ting’s eyes widened in shock.

Lin Wangchuan had also mastered water-element sword energy? How was this possible?

The disciples below the stage were equally dumbfounded.

“Why not?” Lin Wangchuan scratched his head, then channeled his sword energy again.

With a resonant hum, the droplets surrounding him erupted into dazzling blue sword lights, forming sword shadows.

“Haha… It worked!” Lin Wangchuan cheered, as happy as a child.

The audience was utterly stunned.

“Immaculate Holy Body?” Jiang Qitian murmured in disbelief.

“What?” The other elders stared at Lin Wangchuan, equally shocked.

No one had imagined that the seemingly playful “waste” of the sect was actually blessed with the Immaculate Holy Body.

The Immaculate Holy Body was like a blank slate, capable of adapting to any technique or spiritual energy. Its possessor could learn any skill, harness any elemental energy, and even mimic opponents’ techniques in battle.

This physique was considered on par with the Innate Dao Body, and in some ways, even surpassed it.

However, Qin Fei, watching from below, was far from pleased. Lin Wangchuan possessing such a physique made him feel threatened.

Qin Fei could not tolerate anyone in the sect’s younger generation surpassing him.

Xiao Yang, on the other hand, was already aware of Lin Wangchuan’s physique. He knew trouble was coming for Lin Wangchuan, as Qin Fei would undoubtedly target him.

“Junior Sister, here I come!”

Lin Wangchuan grinned as he extended a finger. The sword shadows surrounding him shot toward Jiang Ting at an incredible speed.

“Sword Shield!” Jiang Ting quickly formed a protective barrier of light with her sword energy.

The incoming sword shadows collided with her shield, failing to penetrate it.

“Roaring Waves Sword Technique: Raging Tides!” Jiang Ting unleashed her ultimate move.

Countless sword lights surged from her like tidal waves, crashing toward Lin Wangchuan with overwhelming force.

The water-element sword energy filled every inch of the platform, leaving Lin Wangchuan with no escape.

But Lin Wangchuan simply laughed. His sword energy suddenly transformed into a massive elephant, trumpeting as it charged forward.

The giant elephant shattered the incoming sword lights, its wild energy spreading in all directions.

“How is this possible…” Jiang Ting muttered, stunned.

The disciples below were equally dumbfounded.

With a deafening crash, the elephant struck Jiang Ting’s Sword Shield, shattering it.

The force of the impact sent her flying off the platform.

Qin Fei leaped forward and caught her mid-air.

“Lin Wangchuan, that’s too much!” Qin Fei scowled at Lin Wangchuan.

“I’m so sorry! I didn’t mean to!” Lin Wangchuan apologized, looking like a guilty child.

“Junior Sister, are you okay? I really didn’t mean it. Please play with me again in the future!”

Though Jiang Ting’s internal energy was unsettled, she wasn’t seriously injured.

“Play, play, play… play your head!” Qin Fei snarled as he jumped onto the platform.

Xiao Yang shook his head. Whether in this life or the last, Qin Fei remained impulsive.

In the previous competition, Qin Fei had effortlessly defeated Lin Wangchuan and even defeated Xiao Yang, securing first place.

Had it not been for the upcoming Grand Competition, the sect might have stripped Xiao Yang of his Holy Son title and given it to Qin Fei instead.

But this life was different. Qin Fei could dream on if he thought he could dominate again.

“Junior Brother Lin, you’ve won two rounds in a row. You can rest now,” Xiao Yang called out.

“What?” Qin Fei froze mid-step. He had been about to challenge Lin Wangchuan.

“Senior Brother, I’m just getting started!” Lin Wangchuan protested.

“Lin Wangchuan, come down,” Elder Gufeng’s stern voice interrupted.

Though reluctant, Lin Wangchuan immediately obeyed. “Coming!”

He leaped off the platform, leaving Qin Fei awkwardly standing there.

“Damn it!” Qin Fei’s face darkened.

Seeing Qin Fei’s frustration, Xiao Yang couldn’t help but smile.

“Forget it,” Qin Fei sneered. “I’ll challenge all of you. Come at me together!”

The disciples were stunned.

“Is he insane?” someone muttered.
