'How did I fall into this trap? I didn't see it coming and now I am in deep trouble' thought Rei about the blunder that he was in right now. He saw Azazel walking upto the table and taking out a chair. He sat down, resting his arm over the table and finishing the another beer can in his hand. All this time, he was ignoring the existence of Rei, while enjoying his sweet time with beer cans. His gaze finally landed on the boy holding sword at him with a glare.

"Why so serious?" said Azazel with a grin and pointed at the empty chair in front of him, "Sit down, let's not resort to the violence and deal with the situation like men. Don't you agree, Rei Hyoudou?"

Rei put down his sword and disappeared it back to nowhere, knowing it will be useless against the man in front of him. He walked upto the table where Azazel was sitting and sat down and got tossed a juice can at him, which he caught effortlessly. He put down the can to side, since no way he wants to take risk with a drink offered by man in front of him.

"So what does leader of fallen angels wants from me?" asked Rei, feigning ignorance to the whole situation that he wanted to happen. Even though his main plan was to get approached by him in his original look, but not like this, so it was like a surprise to him, but he was well prepared for this situation in his head.

"Hmm… Isn't this what you wanted, when you spared lives of those girls?" asked Azazel with a smirk, when he heard the response from kid in front of him. He continued with a slight glare to turn this situation into a serious direction, "So get to the point because I hate talking in a roundabout way. It just uses too much of my precious time"

"I want to make a deal with you" replied Rei straightforwardly since he was the man of few words as well, when it comes to the serious discussions like this. Azazel's brow raised in mention of deal from him.

"A deal?" questioned Azazel and taking a sip from the beer can. He was surprised to hear this response from Rei and wondered what kind of deal he want to have with him. Rei placed both of his hands on table and started to explain the details of deal he was getting at.

" You see, ever since I got in a contract with Sona, I've been slaying stray devils and I've recently noticed that I am not improving any further, particularly it's because there is lack of danger to my life, which will help me grow and get stronger. I want to be in a contract where you will give me missions for your faction, more like dangerous missions, which they refused me to send on, out of worry" said Rei which surprised Azazel, that the kid in front of him wants to put his life in danger instead of staying at peace and comfortable state like right now. He continued to listen, what he had to say, "I could have joined your faction but it wouldn't be appropriate since I've been getting lots of benefits from devils and more importantly their trust in just few months. Also, I might as well tell you that I ain't no spy, since I would have requested you to enter your faction instead of getting in a mission deal with you. So what do you say?"

"Aren't you afraid that I might kill you right now, for killing one of my men and cutting off their wings? Instead. you're asking me to have a deal with you" asked Azazel as he noticed the body language of Rei, ever since he revealed himself to him. He thought that the boy in front of him would probably sweat profusely from getting cornered by leader of Grigori, but instead he was brave enough to get in fighting position to face him. 'He is either a very calculative and cunning fellow or just plain power idiot. But from his earlier talk, the boy was certainly not an arrogant and ignorant fellow.

Rei looked straight into the eyes of Azazel and replied in a firm tone, "I am scared to death", causing fallen angel sweat dropped at his blatant reply. Rei summoned his sword and placed on the table making Azazel's eyed go widen in surprise.

"Is this the sword which is a sacred gear inhabiting Raiju?" asked Azazel examining the sword in front of him. It was the first time he was witnessing this sacred gear up so closely, so he couldn't help but be curious about it's powers that he knew from the battles before. But he came to realization, that Raiju wasn't awake and talking to Rei yet, so everything fell into place and then he understood why boy would go through so much trouble to come in contact with him. "You want to join me so that you can awaken this sacred gear? Is it the main reason why you let those three free?"

"Now you get it, why I am so desperate to join you" replied Rei making the sword disappear from there. He put both of his hands on the table and gazed in the eyes of Azazel with a determined look, "I've heard a lot about you from devils, you're someone who is not only strong but also smart. At first I thought training will be enough to awaken it, but that doesn't seem to be the case because I've been training a lot but still not got even a spark of awakening it"

Azazel was impressed that kid was thinking so far ahead when he invaded the church that his underlings were inhabiting. Not only he turned the situation around, but also made it work in his own favour. Also the sacred gear that he had in front of him, appeared after centuries and seeing it from so close, not only made him curious about it but also the potential, once it awakens the balance breaker and beast inside it, who is known for badmouthing it's users and acting arrogant with them. He knew very well about the nature of beast, how he hated God for trapping there for going against him in the Great war. Raiju inhabiting the sacred gear was huge pain in the ass for their weilders and that's one of the main reason, why it's not responding to Rei yet and not awakening. But that's something only few people from the Great war knew.

"I can help with everything that you're lacking and what you need to breakthrough your current bottleneck" replied Azazel with closed eye smile, causing Rei to smile but it was soon replaced by a frown, when he heard the condition of Grigori leader,"Join my faction and I'll get you there in no time. Also you'll get the perks of being a part of my faction without loosing your humanity, that you seem to hold so dearly"

"I can't do that, since I am very close to the devil heiresses as you know very well. I was told by them to stay far away from individuals of your faction, so I did. But when I saw that one of your kind, trying to kill my brother, I was forced to take this step….wait a second, why did you sent them to kill my brother?"

"I did send them to keep an eye on your brother after I sensed a potential danger from him in the future. But I never ordered them to kill him, they acted upon their own and brought this on themselves" replied Azazel in a serious tone, which was unlike his goofy attitude till now. He put the hand over his chin and questioned, "I don't understand one thing, why did you left those three alive? Is it because they were females? They did mention about you saying that they are useful to you, is getting close to me the only reason for sparing their lives?"

"Yeah" replied Rei, not revealing the true reason. He thought it would be inappropriate to say something about getting those three to serve him. Right now the Azazel he watched in anime was a different one, so he carefully chose the words for the conversation with him. "So what do you say, do you want to be in a contract with me like I'm with devils?"

Azazel went into deep thought while looking at Rei and then finally after few seconds, he came up with a decision for the deal presented to him.

"Forgive me, kid. But I can't accept this deal" replied Azazel with a refusal to Rei's request. Before Rei could ask for his response, he continued to give his reasons for denial of his offer, "You're a smart and aware kid, since you figured out what you're lacking. I can see from your build, that you take training pretty seriously and scars are enough to tell, that you've struggled a lot to get here. Even though the sacred gear that you've, is one of a kind and interesting, I am mostly aware everything about it and getting into a contract with you will do me no harm, but the missions that are assigned are generally assigned by the other important members of my faction, so they track the missions that are completed after being assigned. If you had not been in a contract with devil girls, I would have no problem introducing you to my faction and convincing them you're not with them and not a spy, will be almost impossible. So, break up with the devils, if you want to be in a deal with me for missions"

Rei nodded at him, when he heard the reason for his refusal. It did make sense, why wouldn't he get in contract with him. Getting up from the chair, he was about to ask for getting permission to leave since everything was sorted and he got disappointment. He didn't let it get to his head and tried to convince himself, that things not go to our way everytime.

"If you ever change your mind in future and join me. So visit this stripclub, It's owned by me and here is the VIP Card, for easy access" said Azazel handing a black card with Heaven's Door Strip Club written in gold over black card. It was like a ticket to heaven that he got, so he carefully placed in his pocket to his future visits. "You can have some fun there, if you want to. Girls there are nice and welcoming, also no one is forced to do that stuff there. So don't let the guilt consume your animal instincts and visit there"

Rei nodded at him and thanked him for giving the pass and made his exit, after greeting him, "Thanks, it was nice to meet you today. Good evening"

Rei walked down the stairs and noticed that it was almost night, since sun was almost set. The street lights were on and the office workers were returning back to their homes, he came out it in the streets to get some fresh air, after a long session inside those four walls with the Grigori leader.

'Those 20 minutes up there felt like it were 20 hours. Had I not have been straightword with him about being scared to die, I would have resorted to summoning paper to call Rias here on the spot. And I would have messed the whole plan of getting a missions deal from Azazel'

With a sigh of relief, Rei took out the water bottle from his bag and finished it one go, to calm down the nervousness from the earlier interaction. He was scared when Azazel threatened him to kill there on spot, but calming himself down and acting according to the plan, saved his ass from the leader of Grigori.

Had he got there unprepared, It would have been disastorous for him and probably would have ended in a deep trouble from both sides of faction. To him, the plan that he had fabricated to land in Azazel worked smoothly until he pulled the 'death threat' card at him. But thankfully the fallen angels leader didn't screw him up for killing one of his underlings. That was the only thing that was stressing him over and over again, and surprisingly he didn't even mention much about his death in this talk.

"I didn't got the deal. But I left a mark of me at his mind, so in case if he changes his mind in future, I can still hope for a possibility to get in a contract with him" said Rei seeing hope ahead for the contract that he wanted to have with Azazel. "As once a legend said, "Nothing goes according to the plan in this accursed world", I need to find other way to find some trouble or probably count on quests for time being"

Rei was disappointed that he didn't got the contract that he was aiming for. Everything until the end went like he thought it to be, but Azazel's refusal to his offer let him down, but he didn't suck up to it and moved for the different route to find a way to awaken his sacred gear, after all life isn't fair.
