Yandere girls and my fragmented daily life

Chapter 12 - [A tough weekend (1)]

I should have had Su Wen send someone to pick me up! What good is pride! This was the true reflection of Ling Fan’s inner thoughts. Luckily, the journey was smooth sailing, and the taxi driver seemed perfectly normal.

After paying, Ling Fan jumped out of the taxi as if he were escaping from a disaster. The taxi driver looked at the middle school student who had just left with a puzzled expression and couldn’t help but glance at his face in the rearview mirror.

Did he look intimidating?

With doubts in his mind, the taxi driver picked up another passenger and drove away.

After getting out of the taxi, Ling Fan couldn’t help but let out a sigh of relief. Calming himself, he began to head towards Su MoRan’s house.

Su MoRan woke up very early today. By seven o’clock, she was already up and rummaging through her wardrobe.

“MoRan, why are you up so early today? What do you want for breakfast?” Su Wen observed Su MoRan as she rummaged through her wardrobe, feeling a tinge of helplessness in her voice as she spoke.

“Mom, you said Ling Fan would come early today, so I woke up early. For breakfast, just the usual will do.”

Seeing Su MoRan in such a state, Su Wen couldn’t help but feel a sense of helplessness.

Su MoRan stared at the wardrobe, contemplating her options. After a brief glance at her phone, she swiftly donned an outfit that she believed would make her look her best and began tidying her room.

Although Ling Fan had never been to Su MoRan’s room, Su MoRan still made sure it was very clean every day.

Ling Fan was now approaching the entrance of JunHao Garden; his mind was full of thoughts about what might happen today. After receiving a warning, Ling Fan couldn’t help but feel restless.

“YanRan, when are you coming? I am about to head out to buy breakfast for you. What would you like?” Chu Yan, dressed in casual attire, was on the phone as she strolled absentmindedly.

“I’m coming right now. For breakfast, just the usual is fine.”

The sound of the door closing came from the other end of the line.

“Let’s meet downstairs at my place.”

“Okay.”

The brief conversation ended quickly.

Chu Yan had just put down her phone and was refocusing her attention when she saw a figure approaching from the front. There was no time to avoid it.

Chu Yan, who had just come back to her senses, collided head-on with Ling Fan, who was distracted and not paying attention.

Her phone slipped from her hand and fell to the ground, and she herself was also falling towards the floor.

As soon as Ling Fan collided with Chu Yan, he reacted quickly, urgently reaching out to pull her into his embrace. He then braced himself against the wall with his backpack, which prevented the two of them from falling and avoiding a tragic accident.

Damn, if I end up falling and getting a head injury, would that count as man-made damage?

However, the situation didn’t allow Ling Fan to dwell on this.

He needed to explain things quickly to avoid being mistaken for a pervert, though fortunately, the security guards here knew him and didn’t come over to hold him accountable.

A pleasant scent of shampoo wafted from the girl’s hair into Ling Fan’s nostrils.

He could immediately tell it was a high-end shampoo and wondered if he had any on him.

Damn it, what am I even thinking? Ling Fan really wanted to criticise himself.

Ling Fan quickly let go of the girl he was holding. Upon closer inspection, he saw that she was wearing casual clothes. She was a short-haired girl who looked like a typical girl from the neighbourhood. She had a delicate nose, and her cheeks were slightly flushed.

“I’m really sorry, I wasn’t paying attention while walking… Sorry,” Ling Fan hurriedly apologised.

“It’s… it’s okay. I wasn’t paying attention either because I was on the phone,” Chu Yan said, blushing as she picked up her phone from the side of the road. The screen of the phone was cracked. Ling Fan recognised it at a glance; it was the same model as Xu YanRan’s, and it was pretty expensive.

“I’m mainly at fault. How much will it cost to repair the phone? I’ll cover the expenses,” Ling Fan said, thinking it was better to take responsibility first. He quickly responded with a smile.

One should not hit someone who is smiling.

(TL: Chinese idiom, which means not to react angrily or harshly toward someone who is treating you kindly or showing a positive attitude.)

What Ling Fan didn’t realise was that his Charm status panel was fully lit up, with a value even higher than his Intelligence.

“No, no need. It would be too troublesome. I have another phone at home and still have something to attend to, so I have to leave now,” Chu Yan said, thinking she still needed to bring breakfast to Xu YanRan. She decided not to stay any longer. The broken phone screen was no big deal.

However, the flush on Chu Yan’s face had not yet faded. She had never been so close to a boy before, let alone being embraced by one.

Thinking of this, Chu Yan inadvertently looked up and caught Ling Fan smiling at her. At that moment, she felt an indescribable feeling.

Chu Yan’s face turned even redder, and she quickly jogged away from Ling Fan.

Ling Fan watched as Chu Yan glanced up at him with a flushed face, said nothing, and ran off without any intention of asking for compensation.

He was left standing there, dumbfounded.

Speculating about other people’s thoughts is indeed a profound skill, Ling Fan thought to himself with a nod. It was better to avoid unnecessary trouble, and since the girl didn’t seem to hold a grudge, Ling Fan was more than happy to let it be.

The girl was dressed casually, so she was likely a resident here. It probably wasn’t a big deal for her to forgo the cost of the repair.

Seeing that it wasn’t a major issue. Ling Fan rubbed the back of his head and headed towards the Su family’s home.

“I didn’t even ask for his name and phone number; I should have let him pay,” Chu Yan, who had just turned the corner and was buying breakfast for Xu YanRan, realised that she didn’t even know the guy’s name.

She pouted in frustration.

Soon, Ling Fan arrived in front of Su MoRan’s house. Before he had a chance to knock, Su MoRan had already opened the door.

“Good morning, Su MoRan.How did you know I was here?” Ling Fan asked, surprised to see Su MoRan answering the door instead of Su Wen.

“Hehe… I had a feeling that Brother Ling Fan was here, so I decided to open the door and see. It turns out my intuition was quite accurate. Maybe we have a telepathic connection,” Su MoRan replied with a cheerful grin, clearly delighted. She placed a pair of indoor slippers in front of Ling Fan, which were specifically for him.

In reality, Su MoRan had been watching from her room window. The moment Ling Fan came into view, she hurried downstairs to greet him at the door.

However, Su MoRan had no intention of disclosing this to Ling Fan.

“Come in. Have you had breakfast yet? Mom is in the kitchen. If you haven’t eaten, we can have breakfast together,” Su MoRan said, pulling Ling Fan, who had just put on the slippers, into the living room.

“I’ve already had breakfast. There’s no need to trouble Sister Su,” Ling Fan said, maintaining a subtle space between herself and Su MoRan out of instinct.

Noticing Ling Fan’s small gesture, Su MoRan frowned slightly.

“I’m heading out now. Here are two keys to the front door. If you forget them when going out, just ask Su MoRan to use her fingerprint. However, that thing has been acting up recently, so it’s not as reliable as the keys,” Su Wen explained, handing Ling Fan the keys.

“Got it, don’t worry, Sister Su,” Ling Fan said, accepting the keys.

Su Wen cast a quick look at Ling Fan and said nothing more before heading out the door.

Ling Fan entered the living room and noticed that Su MoRan had already tidied up the table.

Ling Fan was preparing to settle down with his backpack and prepare for the morning tutoring session.

But just as he was about to take a seat, Su MoRan unexpectedly hugged his arm.
