Chapter 43: The Spirit Mirror Battles the Dragon Ape

"Rumble!"

The ground began to shake violently as the Ancient Dragon Ape charged toward Lin Langtian in a fit of rage. Lin Langtian felt his own battle spirit surge, his blood boiling in excitement. He hadn't truly unleashed his fighting power in his recent fights against opponents like Huang Yin or the insignificant Luo Jiu. But now, facing this Ancient Dragon Ape, he wondered if he could finally engage in an all-out brawl.

As Lin Langtian prepared himself, the Dragon Ape closed in, a hundred paces away. It let out a fierce roar, sending waves of fear rippling through the beasts nearby. Then, with a fist like solid stone, it swung down on Lin Langtian, its punch as massive as a small mountain. The sheer force shattered the ground around him, casting shadows and sending powerful shockwaves in all directions.

Seeing the huge fist descending on him, Lin Langtian's expression grew serious. He unleashed his own energy, summoning a towering spirit monument nearly a hundred feet high. As his energy flowed into it, the monument quivered, emitting a radiant light.

"Sky-Shattering Spirit Monument!" he shouted, channeling his energy into the monument and launching it directly at the Dragon Ape's massive fist.

"Boom!"

The clash resounded like thunder. In an instant, the towering monument shattered into pieces under the Dragon Ape's punch. As the pieces fell, the powerful fist continued downward. Lin Langtian barely dodged in time, the force of the punch causing his blood to churn, making his face go pale.

"This beast… Its strength really does rival the lower levels of the Creation Stage," he thought, bracing himself. Since his rebirth, this was the first time he'd taken such a heavy hit.

"Roar!"

Enraged by Lin Langtian's evasion, the Dragon Ape let out a furious roar, its massive hand forming another fist and preparing for another strike. This time, a wave of dark energy radiated from its fist, carrying with it a terrifying and wild power, aimed straight at Lin Langtian.

"Vile beast, you've gone too far!" Lin Langtian growled, forming a series of hand signs. His energy surged, and a sliver of light shot from his mouth, transforming into a massive, six-sided golden mirror that appeared in front of him. Golden light rippled across its surface, emanating a powerful and mysterious energy.

"A… Spirit Mirror?" gasped a few treasure hunters observing from a distance, their eyes widening. "A treasure of this caliber—it has to be Earth-grade!"

Although greed flashed in their eyes, they quickly sobered. After all, to challenge a person bold enough to confront the Ancient Dragon Ape was a death wish.

The six-sided golden mirror floated before Lin Langtian. He focused on the approaching punch of dark energy, changing his hand signs to activate the mirror. Golden ripples surged outward from its surface, encircling the giant fist like shackles and significantly slowing its momentum as though trapped in quicksand.

"Golden Spirit Wheel Mirror, Reverse the Heavens!" he shouted, his hands weaving a complex sign. The dark energy within the giant fist split in two; one half was absorbed by the mirror's golden light, while the other half reversed direction, hurtling back toward the Dragon Ape at blinding speed.

The Golden Spirit Wheel Mirror could even reflect attacks back on its opponents. This was why Lin Langtian dared to face the Ancient Dragon Ape alone; he wasn't recklessly confident, but prepared with formidable defenses. While he hadn't fully explored the mirror's powers, he knew that it was no ordinary Earth-grade treasure—especially after being enhanced by a mysterious golden rune that made it even more powerful.

The Dragon Ape, seeing its own energy reflected back at it, paused in confusion. Realizing the threat, it let out an enraged bellow and drew upon the dark energy within itself, forming a black, armor-like shield over its body.

"Clang!"

The tremendous force struck the shield with a piercing sound, sending shockwaves through the valley like a violent storm. The Dragon Ape, as the ravine's apex predator, didn't back down; its body swelled with strength as it began punching relentlessly at the golden mirror.

Each punch caused a massive shockwave of energy to explode, as the Dragon Ape and the mirror clashed, filling the sky with storms of power. However, as the Dragon Ape's attacks intensified, the Golden Spirit Wheel Mirror's reflective power grew stronger, eventually forcing the Dragon Ape to breathe heavily, visibly exhausted.

With the Dragon Ape now visibly weakening, Lin Langtian's eyes flashed with excitement as he sensed his advantage. Just then, he noticed figures moving swiftly toward the battle, drawn by the commotion.

"It seems I need to end this quickly," he murmured, narrowing his eyes. "Can't let someone else swoop in and steal my prize."
