World Hopping With Gacha

Chapter 56: Ch 56: The Final Task

The plan was simple. A week before the Third Task, I sent out my Moriarty clone to strategically drop hints about Voldemort's ritual. An anonymous letter to Dumbledore and others was delivered alongside a Portkey, detailing the location and some vague warnings. I needed everyone in the right place at the right time. If all went well, this would end Voldemort once and for all.

The Gacha System, however, seemed determined to test my patience. Over the past four months, my spins had been less than stellar—mostly junk, to be honest. Still, two items stood out:

1. [The Joker]: A tarot card that created an area of effect nullifying all supernatural powers, including my own. It left everyone inside the zone vulnerable to physical combat. With my skills in hand-to-hand combat and an arsenal of firearms, this item was essentially a one-hit ultimate for me.

2. [Barrier]: A realm-creating ability that could trap everything within a radius of up to 10 kilometers or roughly 6.2 miles. Once activated, nothing could enter or exit. This was the key to isolating the battlefield for what was to come.

---

The day of the Third Task arrived. The atmosphere was tense, with the champions lined up at the maze's entrance. The rules were straightforward: get to the center and claim the Triwizard Cup. I was the first to enter, followed by Harry, then Krum, and finally Fleur.

Navigating the maze was child's play for me. My enhanced senses and speed let me avoid traps and magical obstacles with ease. It didn't take long for me to reach the Cup. I waited near it, leaning casually against a hedge, watching as the others made their way towards the cup through my Eagle Eye.

Krum, under the Imperius Curse cast by Igor Karkaroff, tried to ambush Harry's and Fleur but was swiftly dealt with by Fleur. Harry, now unchallenged, made his way to the center where I waited.

He looked surprised to see me there. "Arthur, you—"

"Save it," I interrupted. "Let's just grab this thing together and get it over with."

Harry hesitated but nodded. We reached out and touched the Cup simultaneously, activating the Portkey.

---

The pull of the Portkey transported us to a dark graveyard. Before I could react, a Stunner hit me square in the chest. Of course, thanks to my Magic Resistance, it did nothing, but I pretended to collapse for the sake of appearances.

Harry was restrained by the cloaked figure overseeing the ritual. He introduced himself as Walden Macnair, a name I barely recognized. Apparently, he'd been a Ministry executioner and had been working with Barty Crouch Jr. before the latter's capture.

Macnair began the ritual, cutting Harry's arm to collect his blood. I remained motionless, biding my time. Voldemort's resurrection unfolded as expected, his serpentine form emerging from the cauldron. He reveled in his return, spouting the usual rhetoric about power and stuff.

---

As Voldemort basked in his rebirth, I quietly activated the Portkey I'd given to others. Within moments, a group of people materialized around me:

Dumbledore, with his usual calm but wary demeanor.

Amelia Bones, assessing the situation with sharp eyes.

Rufus Scrimgeour, the current Minister for Magic, looking decidedly out of his depth.

And finally, my Moriarty clone, bowing theatrically before me.

Before anyone could ask questions, I activated [Barrier], enclosing the entire graveyard in a shimmering dome. No one was getting in or out now.

---

I stood, shedding my casual attire. Gone were the jacket and track pants, replaced by the gleaming armor of King Arthur Pendragon. Caliburn appeared in my hand, its golden blade radiating power.

Voldemort snarled, his red eyes blazing with hatred. "Who dares challenge me?"

"I do," I said, planting Caliburn into the ground and resting my hands on its hilt. "I know you've just been resurrected, but unfortunately, your life ends here. Permanently this time."

Enraged, Voldemort fired a Killing Curse at me. The green light struck my armor and fizzled out harmlessly. I smirked, pulling Caliburn free and pointing it at him.

"This is over."

---

With all of Voldemort's Horcruxes gather es in one place—I had already instructed Dumbledore to bring all the Hocruxes he had collected and i had given him—and Nagini present, I began the chant that would end him:

"I will kill. I will let live. I will harm and I will heal. None shall escape my grasp. None shall escape my sight. Be crushed."

"I welcome those who have grown old and those who have lost. Devote yourself to me, learn from me, and obey me. Rest."

As I chanted, a radiant white glow enveloped me, expanding outward into a cylindrical barrier of holy energy. The cursed objects—Voldemort's Horcruxes—began to disintegrate one by one as the light touched them.

"Do not forget song, do not forget prayer, and do not forget me. I am light and relieve you of all your burdens. Do not pretend."

Nagini hissed and writhed before crumbling into ash. The fragment of Voldemort's soul in Harry's scar screamed, tearing itself apart. Harry clutched his forehead as blood seeped from the scar, but the dark magic within him dissolved into harmless particles.

"Retribution for forgiveness, betrayal for trust, despair for hope, darkness for light, dark death for the living."

"Relief is in my hands. I will add oil to your sins and leave a mark. Eternal life is given through death. Ask for forgiveness here."

"I, the incarnation, will swear. Kyrie eleison."

Voldemort himself tried to flee, but the holy energy consumed him. His body and soul disintegrated, leaving nothing behind.

---

As the light faded, silence fell over the graveyard. The Barrier dissipated, revealing a stunned audience. Voldemort was gone—completely and utterly eradicated.

Dumbledore stepped forward, his eyes fixed on me. "Arthur… what have you done?"

"I've ensured he won't return," I replied simply. "Ever."

Amelia Bones looked ready to question me, but my Moriarty clone intervened. "Perhaps we should discuss this elsewhere," he suggested, his tone respectful yet firm.

I glanced at Harry, who was still recovering from the ordeal. "You alright?"

He nodded weakly. "Yeah. Thanks."

I smiled, sheathing Caliburn. "Good."

And with that, the chapter of Voldemort came to a close. Anticlimactic I know.

---

The graveyard was silent except for the soft sound of the wind rustling through the trees. The barrier I had created shimmered faintly, casting a surreal glow over the scene. Around me, the expressions of those present ranged from confusion to awe, and in some cases, a bit of fear.

Harry, still clutching his head, stared at me like I was some kind of enigma he couldn't quite solve. Dumbledore's sharp blue eyes were studying me carefully, his mind clearly working overtime to piece everything together. Rufus Scrimgeour looked like he wanted to demand answers but wasn't sure where to start. Amelia Bones, was the first to break the silence.

"Mr. Wayne…" she began, her voice calm but firm, "I think it's time you explain yourself. Who are you really? What is that barrier? And…" She glanced at Caliburn, still gleaming in my hand. "What is that sword?"

I sighed, stepping forward so everyone could see me clearly. "Alright, let's get this straightened out."

---

I turned to Harry first. "You've probably been wondering about me since the Triwizard Tournament started, haven't you? Why did I purposely put my name in the Goblet."

Harry nodded slowly, still looking bewildered. "Yeah, you could say that."

I smiled faintly. "I'm Arthur Wayne, sure. But that's just one part of who I am. The truth is… I've known everything that was going to happen since my first year at Hogwarts. The Basilisk, the Triwizard Tournament, Voldemort's resurrection… all of it."

Harry looked stunned, while Dumbledore's eyebrows rose slightly. Madam Bones, who had been quietly standing to the side, couldn't hide her surprise.

"At first," I continued, "I didn't care. I figured, 'Why bother? It's not my problem.' But as I grew older, I realized something important: my choices—no matter how small—have consequences. And if I kept turning a blind eye, people I cared about would pay the price."

I looked down at Caliburn, the blade shining faintly in the dim light. "So I decided to step into the role I've been avoiding for so long. My true role."

"And what role is that?" Dumbledore asked quietly, his voice filled with curiosity.

I met his gaze. "The King of Britain."

---

The silence that followed was deafening. Rufus Scrimgeour broke it first, letting out a disbelieving laugh. "King of Britain? What nonsense is this?"

"It's not nonsense," I said firmly. "I am Arthur Pendragon reborn. This sword—Caliburn—is proof of that. And the barrier you're standing in? That's the power of my title as King. It's a protective domain, a realm where I can control who enters and exits. Voldemort never stood a chance against me."

Harry looked at me, his green eyes wide. "But why didn't you say anything before? Why keep this a secret?"

I shrugged. "Because it wasn't the right time. I needed to be sure I could end Voldemort permanently, and I didn't want to risk anyone getting caught in the crossfire. Now, though… everything is done. Voldemort's gone. His Horcruxes are destroyed. The dark days of the end of the 20th century are over."

---

Dumbledore stepped forward, his expression softer now. "And what will you do now, Arthur? If your role here is fulfilled, where will you go?"

I smiled at him, a genuine, bittersweet smile. "It's time for me to move forward. The wizarding world doesn't need me here anymore, but who knows? I might be needed somewhere else. There's always another adventure waiting."

Turning to Harry, I pulled a small piece of parchment from my pocket and handed it to him. "Here's my number. If you ever need help—real help—give me a call. But something tells me you'll be just fine without me."

Harry hesitated before taking the parchment. "You're leaving?"

I nodded. "Yeah. My work here is done."

---

I took a step back, activating my World Hopper ability. A faint glow began to surround me, and the ground beneath my feet shimmered like a pool of liquid light.

Before I vanished, I looked at everyone one last time. "Take care of this world. And Harry? Remember—you've got the strength to face whatever comes next."

With that, the light enveloped me completely. I felt the familiar pull of the World Hopper activating, the sensation of being whisked away to a new universe.

'Man the make up story sounded soo cringe, well I can't go around saying to people that I am a World Hopper.'
