Wizard Lord:I can Extract Anything

Chapter 110: Chapter 110: The Impending War

"Oh?" Jimmy's lips curled into a playful smile. "Are you sure?"

Richard nodded firmly. "Master, let me witness the power of physical evolution."

"Very well."

Jimmy's expression grew solemn, and the magical runes on his body vanished, his entire presence disappearing in an instant.

Even Richard's spiritual senses found nothing but emptiness.

Jimmy clasped his hands together, his voice as calm as a mountain lake.

"In the past, I followed Grand Wizard Garon in conquests across other realms and stumbled upon this secret known as Unity of Heaven and Man. Since you wish to see the strength of the path of physicality, I will show you."

With that, Jimmy's body surged upward, and the magic in the entire arena flowed wildly into him.

Suddenly, Jimmy seemed to grow immeasurably grand, like a towering god.

Richard swallowed hard, every cell in his body trembling under the terrifying pressure.

This was precisely the precursor to evolution!

Without hesitation, Richard pulled a bottle of Adaptation Potion from his magic pouch, chewing and swallowing it whole.

Simultaneously, his mana began stimulating his cells at a specific frequency.

Combat Liberation, activate!

Under the dual stimuli, Richard's cells started to break down, but new, stronger, and more vigorous cells immediately replaced them.

Jimmy noticed Richard's condition and couldn't help but ask:

"Richard, what's happening to your body?"

Richard looked up and said with some difficulty:

"Nothing, please continue."

Hearing this, Jimmy asked no more and threw a punch. In an instant, Richard felt as if the sky was collapsing and the world was folding into that single punch.

Boom!

The fist stopped just short of Richard, but the violent wind peeled away most of the scales on Richard's body, leaving him bloody.

And that was just the wind from the punch. If Richard had been hit, he would likely have been reduced to mist in an instant.

Richard exhaled deeply, sincerely admiring:

"Such powerful wizardry."

Jimmy replied calmly, "You're not bad either, using my punch to evolve."

As a third-circle wizard specializing in physicality, he could easily discern Richard's current state.

He handed Richard a black crystal ball:

"Test your physique. This crystal ball is specifically for that, with negligible error."

Richard took it, channeling mana into the crystal ball. As a faint current passed through his body, his physique data appeared on the crystal ball.

[Physique: 64.7]

"Not bad," Jimmy remarked in surprise. "When you entered the arena, your physique was around sixty. This evolution gave you nearly five points."

Due to Body Adaptation training, Richard's physique had been steadily improving over the years, growing from fifty at his wizard ascension to fifty-nine.

And in just those few seconds, his physique had advanced by over five points.

"However, as your senior, I have some advice for you," Jimmy said, patting Richard's shoulder. "There are many ways to enhance your physique. Don't focus solely on near-death stimuli.

Although this method accelerates growth, it can lead to dependency, causing you to constantly seek life-and-death battles for evolution.

Continue down this path, and you'll eventually die on the battlefield."

Richard nodded, taking Jimmy's advice to heart.

After the battle, Jimmy conducted some information registration with Richard and introduced him to a few club members.

The Garon Club had many members, many of whom were second or third-circle wizards.

These wizards were battle-hardened black wizards, each having fought their way through planar battlefields.

Contrary to Richard's preconception of them as ruthless killing machines, these wizards were quite amiable when Richard sought their advice, providing him with valuable insights into the planar battlefield.

This was invaluable for Richard, a novice to warfare.

Leaving the club, Richard returned to his wizard tower.

However, as soon as he entered the Black Tower Wizard Community, he encountered Ulysses, who had come looking for him.

"Caw! Kid, you're going to war!"

...

In Anna's wizard tower, Jolord's wizards were gathered.

"Let me introduce you. These three are your senior brothers," Jolord said, pointing to three wizards with auras of killing intent in the reception hall.

The three nodded at Richard, acknowledging their junior brother.

Jolord sat deep in the reception hall, his gaze profound as an abyss.

"The dean's orders have come down. In three years, Black Tower Wizard Academy will conduct a planar conquest in a micro-world."

Upon hearing this, everyone in the reception hall fell silent.

While the planar battlefield was a place for great fortune, it was also where countless wizards met their end. In this room, only seven wizards were present, but Jolord had taught many more students over the years.

Where were those who hadn't appeared?

They had become skeletons, forever remaining on the planar battlefield.

"You are all my students, and you have some connections with each other. I don't ask you to go out of your way to help each other in this war, but if you see an opportunity to assist, please do."

Jolord's voice was weary, as this wasn't the first time he'd said these words.

Before every war, he'd tell his students, hoping they would survive.

But reality was often cruel.

"I understand, teacher," said one of Richard's senior brothers, whom he didn't recognize.

He was the strongest among Jolord's six students, a second-circle wizard whose mana fluctuations suggested his spiritual strength was at its peak, just one ceremony away from becoming a third-circle wizard.

"Eirik, all grown up now," Jolord sighed at the wizard's words, then turned to Richard, Anna, and Chax.

"Anna, Chax, Richard, this is your first planar war, so there are some rules I need to mention.

In a planar war, all wizards must obey the Grand Wizard's orders, and no one is allowed to defy them. Additionally, you must each bring at least one cannon fodder, with a minimum strength of a first-tier creature.

Finally, regarding profits, as first-time participants, the Academy won't provide you with any magic stone rewards, and you'll need to give half of your earnings from the plane to the Academy.

After this war, when you participate again, you'll receive magic stone rewards like other wizards and only have to submit a third of your earnings.

Don't try to hide anything. If you're caught, you'll forfeit all your earnings."

After Jolord finished, the three nodded in acknowledgment.

The wizards then shared their expertise before leaving, leaving only Anna and Richard in the reception hall.

"Sister, I need your help with something."

"What is it?"

Richard opened a spatial rift in an open area, bringing out the alchemical golem.

Anna quickly approached, her eyes shining as if she had found a rare treasure.

"Where did you get this? It's an ancient alchemical golem, practically impossible to find nowadays." She gently touched the golem's engravings, asking casually.

Richard replied calmly, "I found it in a ruin a few years ago. I've been researching it, but my skills aren't quite up to par.

So I'd like you to modify it, add a few magical slots."

"Modify?" Anna suddenly bristled, "Such waste!"

"If you don't fully understand it, rash modifications could lose valuable research insights!"

"So what?" Richard raised an eyebrow, "If I die, all that knowledge is useless to me."

"You..." Anna was speechless, looking troubled as she gazed at the golem.

"Fine, but I should warn you, time is tight. Any modifications will change the golem's structure, so don't blame me if it ruins your golem."

Richard smiled slightly, "That's fine, as long as it works."

The importance of alchemical machinery to Richard was less than that of evocation spells. If not for his current low strength requiring extra support, he would've sold it for magic stones.

"Alright, tell me what you have in mind."

...

With the golem arrangements set, Richard returned to his wizard tower to prepare some cannon fodder.

For wizards, the most common cannon fodder comes in three forms: otherworldly slaves, synthetic beasts, and elemental creatures.

Elemental creatures are the cheapest, requiring just a summoning array.

Richard drew a summoning array on the lab floor. As he infused it with mana, a fire giant appeared in the lab.

"Human, our contract has ended. We need to make a new one," the fire giant said with authority.

"A new contract is indeed needed." Richard chuckled darkly, and rune chains shot from his hand, binding the fire giant instantly.

The fire giant realized something was wrong and tried to flee back to the elemental realm, but Richard's rune chains anchored it firmly in the material world.

"Human, what are you doing?"

Richard pulled a soul contract from his magic pouch:

"Now, you have two choices. Either sign this contract, or die now."

With that, Richard presented the contract to the fire giant:

"Decide for yourself."

The fire giant scanned the contract with its mind, and its flames flared up violently. It roared in elemental language:

"A slave contract! You despicable creature dare try to enslave a noble member of Field's domain!"

Richard's mana surged, nearly dispersing the fire giant's form.

"I believe your name is Filst, correct?" Richard said calmly, "Filst, you'd better assess the situation."

The fire giant Filst realized that the human it hadn't seen in decades had grown to a strength comparable to a fire warrior.

"I'll give you three seconds. After that, either the contract is complete, or you scatter into oblivion."

With that, Richard raised three fingers.

"Three..."

The fire giant struggled, but the rune chains held it firmly in place.

"Two..."

"I am a citizen of Lord Field's domain. Kill me, and Lord Field will turn you to ashes!"

"One..."

Magic surged around Richard, summoning over a dozen ice spears before him.

"Don't attack! I'll sign it!"
