Wizard Lord:I can Extract Anything

Chapter 103: Chapter 103: The Wizard's Life

"Very good," Jolord said with satisfaction, nodding. "But joining the society requires attending a society gathering, which might take decades."

"That's not a problem," Richard replied nonchalantly.

As a wizard, Richard's lifespan had suddenly soared to a thousand years, making the prospect of waiting decades insignificant.

After leaving Anna's wizard tower, Jolord led Richard to the wizard responsible for the community's construction.

"Ancha, build a wizard tower for my student," Jolord greeted.

In front of him, a wizard, half of whose body was mechanized, was directing a group of otherworldly slaves in constructing a wizard tower.

"Oh, Jolord, your student has succeeded too," Ancha glanced at Richard, his red crystal eye gleaming with a piercing light.

"My students never fail," Jolord boasted.

Richard handed a black crystal ball from his magic pouch to Ancha, which served as proof of his hundred-year residency granted by the Tower of Truth.

Ancha shot a red beam from his eye, verifying Richard's information, then took the crystal ball and handed Richard a map.

"Alright, the new tower I built at Number Four in Zone Two is fully equipped. You can settle there."

Richard nodded, exchanged a few pleasantries, and then followed the map to find his wizard tower.

At the tower, Jolord bid Richard farewell.

"Everything's set, so I'll head back."

"Won't you come in for a bit?"

Jolord waved his hand with a smile, "All of Ancha's towers look the same, nothing new to see."

With that, Jolord lifted off, transforming into a stream of light that flew into the distance.

...

The wizard tower had four floors: the first was a reception room, the basement a storage area, and the second and third floors were a bedroom and laboratory.

Richard released the two demi-human slaves from his magic pouch. This special pouch, a gift from the slave traders, could hold living beings.

"Familiarize yourselves with the rooms. From today, this is your home," Richard instructed calmly.

The beast-eared girls bowed their heads in response.

"Yes, master."

Richard didn't name the beast-eared girls, choosing to refer to them by numbers. The cooking-skilled one was Number One, and the strong one was Number Two.

These beast-eared girls didn't have long lifespans—often reaching their limit at a hundred years. Not naming them was Richard's way of reminding himself not to get attached.

The second floor was the laboratory, with soundproofing magic arrays on the walls to maintain silence.

Richard closed the laboratory door and pulled out his apprentice-era experimental equipment from his magic pouch.

Among the various tools and alchemical materials, he had also brought the tentacle of the Blood Red Lord.

Before ascending to wizardry, Richard had prepared it with ample nutrient solution and magic stones, allowing it to grow significantly over the twelve years.

"Ulysses, how do you feel about using this to create a body for you?"

A white light shot from Richard's body, forming a black spectral raven.

"Fraud! You deceitful swindler! You're not a god-king's offspring at all! You're just a lucky ant!"

Ulysses raged at Richard.

The moment Richard left the steel hall, Ulysses realized he'd been deceived.

He wasn't blind or deaf; his mental strength allowed him to perceive the outside world through Richard's body.

Inside the ascension chamber, he had been too intimidated by the world consciousness to dare probe further. But outside the working layer, the world consciousness no longer manifested.

Richard referred to someone not even a demigod as a teacher and bought slaves from the so-called market. This was entirely different from what Ulysses had envisioned.

"Ulysses, when did I tell you I was a god-king's offspring?" Richard sat down, gazing at him with a mysterious look.

The world lord had been raging ever since Richard picked out slaves in the commercial layer, and it was becoming quite annoying.

"You... you..." Ulysses glared at Richard as if looking at a shameless scoundrel.

"And now I'm your master, so you'd better show me some respect. Otherwise..."

Richard snorted, the threat evident in his tone.

Suicide could also be an order.

At this moment, Ulysses finally felt true despair.

"Following you, a mere ant, I'm doomed," Ulysses said, defeated.

"Doomed?" Richard smirked. "You should consider yourself fortunate. Because of me, you weren't turned into an experimental subject.

Do you even know where you are?"

"Where?"

"According to your classification, you're in the domain of a god-king!"

"And," Richard continued with a cold smile, "the god-kings you speak of—there are five Truth Wizards in the wizarding world!"

Ulysses trembled at these words.

"Kid, do you know the greatness of a god-king?" Ulysses shouted. "In front of a god-king, any chief deity must bow and submit, just like you would in front of a god."

"Of course I know. The wizarding world having five Truth Wizards isn't a secret," Richard said nonchalantly. "Even the great wizards conducting interdimensional conquests bow to them."

"Impossible! Our Gods' civilization has only three god-kings! The Abyssal Demons have just two sovereigns. You're a liar. I won't believe anything you say!"

Richard snorted, "Ulysses, I command you to be silent!"

Immediately, the incessantly shouting Ulysses fell silent.

"Ulysses, I'm not interested in arguing with you. You'll see the wizarding world's strength with your own eyes. When that time comes, you'll realize how wise a decision you made."

...

Life as a wizard was much more relaxed than as an apprentice.

After over a decade, the tufted ball in the secret realm fragment had split, producing a seed that had grown into a new Holy Tree Spirit, which Richard named Tuft Two.

This was a positive start.

At a doubling rate of once every ten years, the secret realm fragment would soon transform into a medicinal field.

To achieve this goal, Richard began seeking life-energy-rich nectar in the commercial layer to feed the Holy Tree Spirit.

Such nectar could bolster the Holy Tree Spirit's growth, extending its lifespan beyond the usual fifty years, which in turn would greatly aid Richard's breeding plan.

In addition, Richard commenced the second phase of Body Adaptation training.

According to wizard data, both physique and mental strength experience a qualitative change from 49.9 to 50. With Richard's physique reaching 50 due to the feedback effect, his Body Adaptation's energy limit rose to 100.

Based on this, each additional point in physique would increase Richard's adaptation limit by ten.

Body Adaptation training meant increased magic stone consumption. Even with Jolord handling matters with the wizarding guild, it could take a century or two to turn a profit. Although Richard's potion business in the commercial district continued, the earnings were struggling to keep pace with his consumption.

Thus, Richard had to take on alchemical tasks like a regular alchemy wizard, crafting magical equipment for wizard families' apprentices or free wizards.

After his mental strength's qualitative change, creating magical equipment became second nature to Richard. Tasks that were difficult during his apprentice days were now trivial.

Moreover, Richard's approachable nature and a specific requirement attracted many wizard apprentices seeking his magical equipment.

"Number 23, Was Lucero," Richard said, holding a card as he pulled a gem-encrusted staff from his pocket and handed it to the apprentice before him.

"Ice Crystal Staff, check it over. If it's satisfactory, pay the balance."

The apprentice nervously accepted the staff, and after infusing it with magic for inspection, he bowed respectfully to Richard.

"The master's craftsmanship is truly extraordinary."

With that, the apprentice pulled an old magic book from his magic pouch.

"This book is a ciphered magic book from the Wizard War era. Please take a look."

Richard accepted the book, and a piece of information flashed through his mind.

[Material: Unknown Magic Book]

[Extractable Information: Fire Element Amplification Rune Array]

[Extraction Cost: 5 Mental Strength]

Richard nodded, "Not bad, you're an honest person."

The apprentice smiled awkwardly, thinking wizards had strange hobbies, especially collecting such useless books.

Ciphered magic books and notes were collected by almost every wizard family, but after years of decryption, the solvable ones had long been deciphered. These undeciphered magic books gathered dust in libraries, easily traded by apprentices from wizard families.

"Alright, payment complete. Feel free to come back. If any friends want custom magical equipment, refer them to me, and I'll give you a ten percent commission," Richard said, placing the magic book aside and waving the apprentice off.

"Okay, I'll promote you," the apprentice said, bowing again before quickly leaving the wizard tower.

After he left, Richard happily picked up the magic book and chose to extract information.

"Fire Element Amplification Array? A good find."

Richard had been in the alchemy business for ten years. Seven years ago, he learned from talking with apprentices that wizard families didn't value ciphered notes, leading him to trade them for magic stones.

One ciphered note could be exchanged for a thousand magic stones.

Though most ciphered notes and magic books were junk, finding just one useful piece recouped all losses.

Placing the magic book on the basement bookshelf, Richard leisurely made his way to the second-floor laboratory.

Vooni, or rather Ulysses, flew in from the window, a gem dangling from its beak.

Upon entering, the wizard tower's door was promptly knocked on, and Richard went downstairs to answer it. An angry wizard stood at the door, unleashing a tirade.

"Richard! Your raven stole my gems again! My gem tree isn't for its cultivation!"

Richard apologized with a smile, compensating with some magic stones.

After resolving the issue, Richard returned to the second floor, looking at Ulysses with exasperation.

"Ulysses, as a world lord, do you really enjoy stealing others' fruit?"

"Caw, caw, caw, I just love seeing him angry."

Over the years, Ulysses had come to understand the wizarding world through various means.

Five god-kings, over a thousand gods, with the number of gods continually growing.

Such formidable power forced Ulysses to admit Richard had been right.

Had he not signed the destiny contract with Richard, his fate would have been far worse.

"Besides, I need to regain my strength, don't I? His gem fruit can ease my soul's injuries. Soon, I'll be able to use the Annihilation Flame you desire."
