Within Veiled Boundaries: Shroud Over Their Eyes.

Chapter 141: 137 under current

A sea of blind. The cover comes in all sorts of stripes and suited each individual to their soul manifesting abilities. Magic is seen because those with perception to see past reality uses it to bend these shields. Rose tint glasses that makes the colours vivid again. She leans the cafe window, watching the sea waves of energy cast from local gateways and creatures among humans. She had been stirring the same smoothie with her right hand for the last half hour. Her mind is sent back to the beach of black silver speck sand and seeing the swimming of meat bodies invested in these oceans depths.

"I think it's about my turn. You play so close with my brother in law that you seem to forget to praise me." Leana can't help a blush at someone so beautiful. From the golden warmth of the skin and the smell like being home. The way hair falls and waves. This is more then just someone with strength of protection and love. This is someone willing to cheat death at any possibility.

"You go by so many forms, shapes and personality. You had all the time to appear. Here you are, you seem ready to gut me with troubles."

"If you pay attention, it's others that bring you pain at the price of holding my gift. To be alive is to be bait to all the other gods with their schemes. Even death, my brother in law schemes. I am the goddess of life. Not misfortune. To be a live is to gift life to others and spread influences of my gift. To have the strength to be the silk threads that making the threads of fate itself." Its all the small talk that previous goddess of life excuses her deeds with. And for all that, her gift is alway worth the weigh of hell. She is a terror, but it's also a blessing.

"What will you wish to bring to the land of living that can't in all other universes?" The vessel hearing her then smiled and trembling lip at nearly speaking freely. Holds back with knowing this creepy little girl has her worked out, "What did you want a clothus to drag from the boundaries beyond time and space?" Lady life closed up for now and looked at the sea of souls from the window as Leana has for a while. Leana settled with peering about life's reflection. How life is a pale reminder of what leana should have been as a normal human with supernatural phenomenon. It's this reflection that moved in reminding Leana this is a goddess and that the goddess can mind read.

"You gods all are the same." Leana let's her soul speak at her tongue, "Peering inside and ignoring the human voice before you. Death did this too. A few times as I knew. Always cautious when we meet again. But this is a first in a long time, lady life. You remind me of the warmth that my souls humanity. Such a thing, I cling to desperately." She bare open the marks her soul carried from her journey across and back again. Realms not human. Life looked at each, hand traced each. Life takes stop of a missing and broken part of Leana. Something that life would be normally concerned of missing. The ability to make the next generation. Rather instead, it's a mess. It's broken. Life her hands moved away in shock of this hurt.

"You use your own cells at the cost to return back to life." Leana little dark magic secert. But it something that isn't life is too keen of, "But I understand." Leana tilted shock to hear that, "The laws of this universe are messed up. Even normal duties I wouldn't have any problems with are made difficult. If I gift life to an undertaker, it was a waste effort since they disappear."

"No life. Your gift spreads and is gifted along to other versions of you in other universes. Undertakers are just the folks that carrier your divinity there." Pats the goddess shoulder, "The true titles of this universe have gave so much and continue to create more new for new ones that start their own system. And it's a cascade too, as when it's used there. It truns new being that cast their divine forwards. And thus it spreads onwards and changes with the format. Eventually a tome is completed. It and all it's reality comes back here. Back to the start. This is what death learnt. What your sister work is. What Omens and fate have joined together for." Leana smiles freely to herself and unfiltered honest smile. Twisted of all the sorrow and happiness that life meant for Leana.

"What I paid the price to bring myself back here. To be here. Look at all these souls and the beautiful things they paint as one." She opens her palms, "This is my favorite tome. The chronicles of veils." It particularly manifesting into shape inside her open hands but it disappeared swiftly with lacking concentration. It was mostly for not being ready to be French kissed by a beautiful goddess. This exchange had something of life's intentions to play part in grand scheme. That life knew that putting a immortal mark over this soul, aka a goddess free pass to reincarnation. The tome tied to this keeper will also be spread of the same life ticket. Important tomes with keeper get treatment to keep those keepers divine and controlled by God's. This is life making her mark.

The breaking away the French kiss was met with a deep draw of breath. Coughing out the bad remains of soul cursing. As life has forced divine spill into Leana. It's creating issue of being part shadow of damned, as that form bleeds and hybrid altered to withstand the divine infections. It's wasn't long since Leana been back from angelic court, and apparently long enough for life to stab chances.

Leana is collapse at the floor as the conflicts of material being are at war. The vessel of life enjoyed herself, lips licked and now lowered down to hold Leana head at lap. Brushing hair. Very pleased of her achievement.

"You're creatures. The ones that claim a part of your soul. They are in every corner of Sigil. To grace you with my love, it gifted them it too." Leana isn't even mad of that, and the goddess raised a brow.

"You're a great kisser." They both laugh at that together but Leana fighting sleep. But there isn't a choose, and sleep overcame will. The vessel of life casting spell to do so.

"Now you brought the things of the Abyss into the light among humans." Life shivered at shock of hearing someone she wasn't ready for, "I am not him. I am a version of true death from another tome. In giving Leana your kiss, you brought the collaspe of waking and sleeping world boundaries. It was already thin with mages, fey and demons. You torn the whole curtain for urban monsters and ancient ones. It a good thing she regulated it before you did this." He lowered with pouring bottles of uncertainty substances across Leana.

She does eventually gasp awake and off life's lap. Scrunched with feeling skin irritated and move. Aching inside, twisted and soften into a numbness. She lifted her head out of her knees, listless but counting those stood around her. The vessel of life got up, and takes Leana arm pulling to stand them both up. Brushed shoulders and soft hold of the face.

"You still have use here. Even when you don't feel you do." The vessel left and the loyal subject under her stands just at arms reach. Another bottle at hand to splash on her again. He stares a long time in nearly splashing her, wondering is she is passed out standing. As damned do. Yet there a sharp turn from her, she stares a new distance hand reaching out and taking hold of something. She traced whatever this pole item was, she takes grip and with a swift notion. This scythe pulls from distortion and into the living land. She feels the edge of the cutting side and nods. She sighed, resting to shoulder and carries it with ease. She gave nod to the subject and he nods back. Takes leave back to the death domain.

"Most of them will behave. It's the other proxy lords that will bring games to plague humanity. Review the laws and regulations." She told him and he nods. Gone for now. She pets her lips with a blush. Having a soft cough. Given this is the mage tower, there was no one paying any mind. The strange is normal here. So women kissing was just another day. She sits down, deep in that blush and with being sober to the sheer changes the goddess has caused. Gladly there was things in place to take burden like the scp foundation, the secret government programs to contain violent mock humans and the hidden nations. Mages aren't the only people hiding. Clothus too. There are some actual clothus that have integrated among human society. That's just the tip of things. She felt her divinity raising, raising because those that worshipping her were the hidden ones. Now they are brought among light and praise thanks to her for it. Whole pocket realms will now melt right along side human sites. Solid gates are now open for human crossing.

"Are you sick?" She huffed of hearing Joseph.

"Maybe I am?" She retorts back, "Changed locations?" He frowns in not liking everything about her and her instant know about death as a person. More then he does.

"The lady too." He crossed arms and then froze of the scythe. He stares about it a long time.

"You don't want to touch this cursed weapon. I couldn't trust you to not break something." She carries it smartly and walks along side him, "Enjoying your half life with the death domain?" She making small talk. He might be uncomfortable but they walk together through the mall. He was mostly quiet for a while but he breaks it with just knowing her.

"Sometimes it's nice. Nice to save those that needed it and those that lived full lives. The story's they talk. They never shut up." He relaxing the more it poured out of him, "The children are creepy but it's bitter sweet. They get to go to places I never thought existed. Being a shepherd. They take me on their journey as I take them." He frowns, "Although you get your freaks. And from the most unassuming looking ones." He lowered on feeling bad as it's exactly has he thought of her. Unassuming and turns out to be a freak.

"At least I am no sheep or wolf. Not even the farmer." She play punched his arm, "Nah. I am the skin walker that knocks on the glass panes at night." She finds him taking that to seriously and she huffed, "Do I need to head lock you?" He shook out of the strange stare.

"You knew longer then even me." He concluded from her words. As memory of visiting the smokey mountain as three generations came through, that night the bear carcass was presented at the front door. He would have asked grandpa about it.

"I knew when I realized grandpa had a night job. I had been a silent cheerleader at the side lines. Replenish the medications. Salting all the windows." She takes his arm in lock as she now the one forcing him to keep walking, "Adopting the Persians was my idea. Brother and bear kept the demons away." She felt his resistance of going with her onwards, "I will always be me, Joseph." He posed thumb of directing her a particular route, "Nah, I have to take Yager on a walk. He needs a vet visit for ingestion. I did sort of lead him through bug city and demon lands." He leaves shoe marks as she dragging him through the gate onto the unassuming Sigil path. But it then lifted itself. Whole rows of teeth and hidden eyes.

"I felt it." It says.

"Let's have you checked over with death and removed the souls that aren't working in you." It lowered in letting them both step on and it walks thundering millions of feet stabbing into Sigil itself to push though. She give hand pose for the gates they take. Leaving through into a large empty realm that used to be a hell boundary. A pocket left from clothus days, bare of nothing but red soil and orange sunless sky. Yager coiled himself into a tight ball, rolling both Joseph and Leana to the surface.

"I thought the sigil came alive and spilled broken here." One the youngest voiced with staying behind the eldest.

"I brought gifts!" Leana left Joseph behind with instant magic pulling items from nonexistent pockets, "I just felt that I needed to. I made a whole two sets for both your parents. So it be fair I made each of you a cup." She left hand only to every child direct. She scruff heads of the lads and play pinch the girls. Lasting with a hamper to the lady mother herself, "As requested. Something for soul practice that is legal." She posed about Yager, "We need to remove the demons and other souls he ate on accident. As he only digests material not souls." She waved at Yager. Yager lays thin across the plain. She nods, "The souls are need of returned back, so it needed doing."

"You haven't read my mail."

"I have. This is why I didn't bring the god eater we should have used. That one would have been to traumatizing. This one is the sigil path." Lady stares at Leana in guessing that was maybe a smarter move.

"God eaters camouflage to the between realms they settle in. So I'd it lived between the living realm and say the undertakers. It will take a fitting form to bait the gods that it wishes to eat. They care not if it's a demigod or a true title. The younger the stupid they are. The older ones bargin and speak. Best not unless you have to. They ask for strange things. Each uniqueness has a quirk." She straight to teaching the children strange things, "Some will use the corpses to give faulse hope. Some use reaper scythes to attract you. Some turn into scythes, just to be picked up and devour the being holding it. God eaters are a scary useful creature. Keeping gods that break rules away from humanity sight. Particularly the gods with ill intentions to enslave or break humans. There are some sickos. For sure. Humans are equally too. Some humans try to cross over to become gods or whatever. Blindly hoping that near death will grant them abilities above others. Willingly takes a weapon laying on the floor conveniently."

She scoops the young ones away to a safe distance. She then helps post the able ones to take try of soul removing from yager. She continues intermittently adding stories of ill travel path walkers encountering god eaters. She slips in some advisory soul pop out tricks. She beats around the bush about why souls are never break open. Engrossed with teaching. Joseph stands beside lady death watching. Learning just as the children are.

"She would make a fantastic mother."

"She can't." He frowned, "We were in a lot of accidents that the undertakers had put us in protection for. She should have died in a lot of those. Pinned to the wall. Crushed by car. Ran over. I once assumed she became a vegetable. Mute. Distant in the eyes as if no one was home. Couldn't afford health care. Mom did it all. We weren't exactly normal children. Always complaining the imps were breaking crap. Mom got tired of it all. We all did. Sent her to school. Not expecting anything great from her and having low expectations of a meaningful life. But then we were changing schools often. It was worse then just having her home. St August was our last straw. She been left there to be forgotten. For the last year, not even sending cards." He grows silent there. Regert chains him down. Leana felt it too, with a snap of fingers that chain was black sand. She refocuses on the teaching.

"Leana lived and died many times. Many lives. She had done and seen. She isn't stupid. It is all just a mask to hide. The real her. It's the one right now telling my son his angling the scythe the wrong pose out the god eater before us. Has a whole army of these creatures across the universe. I am not even going to dare about if you were to leave here. Leave for another tome. Her hand work is impressive. She turly is a trickster with good intentions and for great peace. Negotiating souls out of slavery to the repair of tomes." Lady huffed, "She has such a human moral heart that aches in the face of soul suffering. Wanting to be there for the tormented ones that need a way to change. The ones that need it."

They both stare upon the lacking emptiness this realm has. Suddenly the world is full of cursed furnishings and objects of soul containing. Leana moved the lessons on from sigil path to creeping paintings and dolls. She is always cleaning right behind them. No soulless corpse left to danger them.

"It's making me hungry." Elvish appearance is nothing indication of why Omens would even speak that.

"An ex-god eater looking at a flock of god eaters." Lady death huffed, "What are you here for?"

"Leana. I need her to convince the Ender title to not break my god follower."

"His already broken. We have been through this discussion. You can't repair souls that don't want repair. Some prefer the flaws gained from their damage. You can't force him whole again. Just as we can't put the powder dust of Leana back whole." Joseph gasped at that, "Yes... I forgot you didn't know. She has been keeping many secrets."

"The goddess of life kissed her. So now all those soul fragments can finally act and grown independently. Soon she will be spread so thin that there be no traces left."

"The tome can finally be crystal translated and cycled through system." They all stare at her stood beside them, "Just look at my daughter pretending to be me. I am so proud. She really made an unique universe. It's now spreading use across allies. Finally the DNA translation into tomes is now possible. Stability has never been so certain before. We are now the black hole that doesn't shrink or grow. The disposal waste when things break apart. All these broken souls are here to be receiving new changes. New chances." The youngest runs over and take to mothers arms. Soon all the sibilings freak in there being two leanas.

"Medley. Time to cut." The daughter removed disguise. Leana tossed her scythe over and leave it to the crew of grandchildren to teach among themselves. Leana lowered with picking up Morpheus and stood with loki fluffy occupied her shoulders. Petting them both with compassion. Her claws taking souls and checking over. Souls back in. The slick slop of tome pages slaps behind her back.

Joseph stares of the sea people attacking objects. Some laughing about it all and others traumatic war worn serious about it. He traces their faces seeing family features. His further dazed by the vast time warps between. Whole generations that never should have met. Joseph sees that this family of death gods was soon filtering themselves. There are alternative versions of everyone he knows and those he never could imagine. Strangers with the same worn gaze that knows the troubles of being Fallown or something. He then noticed how he met some of them already in the living world his from, how they were mysterious and nervous of him. He stares with knowing now, and he nods respecting each with guessing they been on egg shells for a while. He has just had to accept them all as family.

"This is why the universe took away something that she doesn't need to use." Lady death watching at his side, "These are all tome keepers from across many other universes and yet they are all a fragments of her trace when she was removed from this one. This is the consequences of breaking soul law. She is just one person. If this was a more then one soul... just how more full would this realm carry." He looks to lady death's point with fathoming want removing a person meant.

"Removing a soul chapter from the incomplete tome made a mess of everything. Breaking the stability we covit. Now we make do with a new way, keeping forward as the concept goes." Death shoulders his wife softly, "Home." Brushed her cheek and gate lifted. Plenty knew this too. Soon it was rapid exiting of so many. Back to emptied picket space.

Not a trace of god eater or scythe practice left. Leana takes her brothers arm and pulled them back to the living realm. He gets out of her grip when arriving. He sees plenty of the members hover at distance from them both, nod of respect and disappear. He traced her in her wide warm smile and frowns in feeling out done. He takes a new gate, shivering to leave her behind. Shaking his head to over come this brought fear and shock.

"Another new time needs reviews." Her echo of death as her book assistant steps at her back. She takes the tome without doubt, this damaged book is soggy and barely pages can be pull apart. Yet with skill, she does exactly this with claws and servays the new alphabet before her as an art critic.

She checked concerning pages of conflict to the current ones and some instances of unique things that will be kept in mind. She traced something beautiful with a warm welcome smile. Closes the tome and returns it.

"You didn't come in person unless you need something." She pats over his shoulder, "You are concerned of the Ender. I am too." She twisted away with feeling the tomes in her reach and those she checks in shadows. She frowns and he pats her now.

"The maddness... this one. This guy makes even Phillip and Daniel fear loosing themselves."

"The title is sentient enough to be. But it needs us to stabilize them. Every soul has equal right to live, die and all those between. Even the true title of Ender that itself became a god of its own collective of enders. We must respect that it will have days to want rest or take a lifetime in being something else. To turly feel the weight of its worth in all the Repentance and rise... fall and sin." She twirls, "Having a ride on Omens back just gives it lean way to see new materials. It's an adventure after all. Each new hell has some law that breaks us down more."

"Currently messing with the Glader bloodline is normal?" She nods at that.

"Magic is insanity of reality." Posed hand open in wafting the being to business. He leaves onwards at things. She smiles in how his enjoying being back in space time. All of them are, in different degrees. Souls are pleased. Maybe the more mental state of them aren't. Even so, it's life. It's being.

"Eliza. Can I borrow you?" She warm welcomes the Glader Darkwood that has approached, she squares the mask they wear and lacks the fear that comes in facing Ender.

"So you choose coexistence." Opened palm, "Welcome to the team." The mask smiles then the glader does. The reluctant shake of hand of her marking the lad and mask, "If you see Matthew around, the god follower of Omens. He ask about what I did to you. You're simply marked by the abyss, watched by those on our side. There will always be something to find and make a difference." Breaking the hand shake, the kid stares about the crowd that gathering and noticed they stare at her with fascination. At taking a closer notice, she isn't hiding her lacking human features. That she more a creature of human shape then a human is. He could tell by her hands that the joints were irregular and long nails that weren't fancy art. In spite of the uncomfortable nature, does manage a welcoming and gentle posture that disarms the gaurd to easy.

"Anyways, you needed my services. I am more then happy as an oath hunter to take a sigil request." She waved the panel into visible hold ahead of them both. The mask clicked away filling in the entry and once sent she clicked accepting regarding less of rewards. She waved away the panel and took better at mock human. Actually she was fully human without a hint of creature, long black seamless dress with a lace cloak. Hair chopstick up in a dang oriental style. She covered in tattoo marks that symbol of her hunter status and energy.

"I think one of my dogs went your way home. I will just have to take them home." She paused in thought, "Although, I am homeless myself. I guess I can rent shop lease and set up an walkers stop." She posed hands at her front and lowered to the young man's height with respect, "What will you like to do?"

"Find Joshua." She nods at this and takes a distant stare at a direction. She points and there Josh was with a file stack and on the phone speaking mage fast about things. Kyle before her raised a brow, "His marked in my care. Those I care for have to be, you were before that title came to your hand. So you had no choose of having me." He walks the way in following Josh and spotted Jessica. He rushed up with following Jessica now.

"It's nice to see you OK."

"Leana!" Jess gasped, "What happened?"

"I became a follower and my ranks as an oath walker has improved. Finished school and cleaned up heavens lower angelic court." Jessica is bewildered for a while and shook out of this. Moving to caring over Kyle and scruff his head. They spoke at length in mage tongue to fast, mostly about mage political issues and the moves of the other human families that have high stakes. It was soon paused with looking to Leana.

"I am neutral party. I am my own stance. Not even my mother or brother has influence. But equally they are leery of my vessels and members. I am the keeper of some the most wanted tomes. When you hear of Noturm, it's my business." Kyle blinked at this for a while and then nods that it wasn't the topic they were asking.

"Hungry?" Jess asked.

"Famished." Leana smiles, "Anything normal is preference but will not say no to gloom walking either."

"Josh call is the walk of miserable things." Jess guides the way and has them join to other kids, "Stay together now, or I will not pay for it." She addressed the whole group. The four kids that were made undertakers are human here again. They are the same generation of Leana but given time distortion. They are Kyle's age now. Making Leana the eldest looking but not the generation as Jessica. Everyone was the sigil ranks expected for those that been to the undertakers realm or are a damned.

Leana held no concerns for individuals and kept the groups back watched. She keeps calm and the wave of energy to smooth soft among but not built into overload. She sees plenty of creatures and let them be if they do the same at return. She is the last to sit down and the first ordered. She had merger amounts but had her mask order takeaway behind Jessica's back, on own money.
