Why do I have so many masters?

Chapter 162: A Great Wind Blows from the West!!! (10,000-Word Mega Update, the Author is Exhausted)_3

The elaborately prepared food box had already been kicked over onto the ground, scattering various foods all around, and a reddening palm print was visible on the elegant face of Princess Tuoba, indicating the force behind the blow.

This was the inevitable breaking point...

Helian Zhizhi chuckled silently in his heart.

Tuoba Yue stared steadily at Baili Feng.

Looking at the furious young man, she pursed her lips, turned her cold face away, and then strode away quickly.

It seemed she was provoked by Baili Feng's behavior, feeling humiliated and unwilling to stay any longer. The young man laughed as he glanced at that Qin General with bulging veins and a furious expression on his forehead. He chuckled softly, turned, and walked out of the prison door, chasing after Tuoba Yue.

In his heart, the wariness and the hidden intent to kill toward Tuoba Yue had ultimately dissipated like smoke.

If Tuoba Yue had dared offer a helping hand to this Qin General, his intent to kill would have risen, and there were countless noble Clan ladies who had been whipped to death and humiliated by him, worthy of the cold and cruel verdict.

But now it was different.

He simply saw her as an ordinary beauty that stirred his heart, paying no heed to humiliating Baili Feng, hastening forward to catch up and speaking with a smile to console her.

"Princess Tuoba..."

The crowd filed out, and the prison guard, seemingly to send off these nobles, did not take away the lantern on the ground, leaving Baili Feng alone in the iron prison. He stared fixedly at his own right hand.

This palm was trembling slightly, it was this hand that had struck Tuoba Yue's face just now.

He closed his eyes, stumbled back two steps, and collapsed onto the ground.

After a moment of silence, he covered his face with that hand and laughed lowly.

The laughter contained no hint of amusement.

He looked at the food spilled on the ground.

It was his favorite dish, and in this foreign Border City so far from Fufeng, there might be cooks who understood Qin State cuisine, but only one person was capable of replicating the taste of Fufeng.

Silent, Baili Feng struggled to crawl over. Tuoba Yue must have protected his vital channels with precious Elixirs, allowing him to sustain his life, but his Inner Strength was far from what it used to be.

He had taken out the key by now, and holding the food tainted with mud, he gobbled it down voraciously.

The prison guard came over, looking at the Qin General swallowing food in a wretched state like a beggar on the street, laughed disdainfully, and then remembering which noble person had been humiliated under his watch, he felt anger mixed with fear. He raised his foot and kicked Baili Feng hard, cursing furiously:

"Didn't you say you wouldn't eat?! Huh?!"

"Now eating like a dog, huh, you have pride, is this what you call pride?"

"Pah!"

The Qin Soldiers on either side were nearly beside themselves with rage, leaping to their feet with the chains on their bodies clanging loudly, drawing a round of shouting and cursing from the prison guards.

But Baili Feng did not resist, allowing the guard to kick him repeatedly, letting his wounds reopen, and just kept swallowing the dirty food.

"I told you..."

"The buns must have green onions in them..."

He laughed lowly.

Inside the Protectorate General of Great Qin in the Northern Lands.

Military orders were reported one layer upon another, with movements that one could not help but find shocking.

Yet, for over ten years there had been no major military movements, and inside the Protectorate General, Advisors and Military Generals quarreled. One side was willing to send troops for the remaining possibly surviving Iron Cavalry of Great Qin, while the other side thought although the matter was serious, they had to consider the bigger picture.

The arguments were so intense that they shook the heavens and the earth.

Not a single person thought sending troops for three possibly surviving Qin Soldiers was an absurd act.

Meanwhile, in the Kingdom of Che Shi in the Northern Lands.

Baili Feng became increasingly silent.

But every day, when the meals were brought in, he finished them all without regard for whether the food was spoiled or simply hard to swallow, looking as unyielding as iron or stone.

Since that day, he had never seen Tuoba Yue again.

Only that young man of noble birth came by every day, and Baili Feng, nearly every day, mocked himself for the growing number of scars from whipping and torture marks on his body, looking more and more wretched, almost on the brink of death.

He could faintly hear voices and movements above the prison each day, and these sounds were quite frequent, as if some great event was unfolding in the Border City of the Kingdom of Che Shi, and Baili Feng had some expectations in his heart.

For he knew that with his current physical strength and Martial Arts, even if he had the key Tuoba Yue risked sending him, trying to leave this Border City with two Qin Soldiers was as hard as reaching for the heavens.

He had to wait for something to happen in the city that would draw everyone's attention away to have even the slightest chance of survival.

On the seventh day.

Just as Baili Feng's wounds were beginning to heal a little, the oppressive darkness of the prison once again filled with the sound of footsteps. The prison guard came with a lantern, not to his cell, but to the other two Iron Cavalry of Great Qin, taking the two surviving men out.

Baili Feng felt a sinking in his heart.

Just as he thought they had not found an opportunity to escape and were facing their end, the prison guard opened his cell as well, not to take him out but to throw the other two Qin Soldiers in.

An older prison guard brought people to chain the two Qin Soldiers to two massive spare iron balls on the sides, and then they snapped the chain at Baili Feng's feet with a click. The guard laughed heinously and waved a hand.

Then two tall barbarians came from behind, one on each side, taking hold of Baili Feng's arms.

Baili Feng remained calm, not resisting.

Allowing the two men to lift him, they directly stretched his limbs and hung him on the wall. It appeared as if he had been freed from the chains, making it look a bit easier, but in reality, he was incessantly tortured even more, grinding away at his resolve.
