Whispers Of The Savannah

Chapter 3: The Curse Of Ndoma

The following days were a blur of fear and confusion. Amina's mind was consumed by Mama Nia's words. Could it be true? Was her family really connected to the Amani, the ancient protectors of the land? The illness continued to spread, claiming more and more lives each day. Despite her mother's best efforts, no remedy seemed to work. Desperation began to take hold of the villagers.

Amina couldn't ignore the nagging feeling that there was more to the illness than just bad luck or a curse. This was something far older, more powerful. It was as if the earth itself was rejecting them.

Late one evening, while rummaging through her family's old belongings, Amina found something unexpected. Hidden beneath a loose floorboard, she discovered a dusty, ancient journal belonging to her great-grandmother, a woman Amina had only heard about in passing stories. The journal was filled with descriptions of the Amani, their powers, and the artifact they had once protected. Her great-grandmother's writings spoke of an illness that had once struck the village in the past, similar to the one they were facing now. According to the journal, the disease had been the result of the artifact being misused. The power within it had been harnessed by the wrong hands, and its corruption had spread across the land, infecting both the people and the earth itself.

Amina felt her pulse quicken as she read further. The artifact, a stone with mysterious carvings, had been hidden away for safekeeping. But someone, over the years, had stolen it. She had to find it—before it was too late.
