Chapter 29: CHAPTER 28
Trinity sat on the chair that was near Susan's bed. She could hear the commotion outside, and as Marcus was talking, she suddenly felt the walls of the room lifting off the ground. Jumping to her feet, she looked around in shock. 'Ty?, you there' she mindlinked the only one who dominated her thoughts.
Her heart was pounding in her chest and her breath grew heavy. Not knowing what to do, she screamed.
"Rin?" came her mother's voice from behind her.
"Mom, stay back," Trinity said quickly.
Dorin ran to her daughter as two walls were completely gone and before the rest could follow, she began chanting something that Trinity couldn't make out.
The walls were back in place and within seconds everything was back to normal, leaving Trinity baffled.
Before she could react, there was a heart wrenching scream, which was followed by another.
"Hold them. Don't let them turn!" She heard Tyrone shout. "TRIN, we need you."
The dark haired girl ran outside like flash, only to find the twins screaming and crying, while the others were trying to hold them down.
"What's going on?" Trinity asked hurriedly.
"We need your fire," her mate said.
"WHAT?"
The ice cold eyes of Tyrone was enough to summon Dragonia. She flew in the air and sprayed the twins with her flame, as the rest of them were covered by a wall of rocks. 'Enough! You can stop now'. She heard Drake's voice in her head.
The orange beauty landed and turning into her human form, saw that Emeralda and Esmarald had fainted.
They rushed them inside and Tyrone put them in a tub of water to heal.
"What happened here?" Trinity asked him when he had reached the living room. Everyone had a gloomy expression on their faces.
"They killed them!" Tyrone replied, tears rolling down his cheeks. "Uncle Sea and aunt Marina."
Trinity's heart skipped a beat, as she held her breath, eyes wide in shock. She'd only met them once but they felt like family. Tears crept in her eyes and the pain she felt was overpowering. Tyrone, her mate was hurting beyond words. "What did he want?" she whispered.
"The three humans.... and you; dead or alive."
"We have one week to comply. If not, he'll bring war," Stacey added.
"Only a Miracle can save us," Martha added.
"Speaking of which; Mom? What did you do back in that room?" Trinity asked her mother, as she remembered the chanting and the wall stopping.
"Honey, there's something your grandmother and I need to talk to you about...."
"What?" Trinity asked indifferently, remembering the talk they had a few hours ago.
"Um...alone," Dorin said slowly.
"They're my family mom; whatever you have to say, you can say in front of them," Trinity said, staring daggers at her mom. They had lost so much trying to help her.
"Ok. I know I should have told you this before...-" "Mom! just skip to the main part, will you?" Trinity cut in impatiently.
"I'm a witch. Your grandma is a witch. We all come from a long line of a coven of witches that date back to the 15th century," Dorin said.
Trinity just stared at her mother, unable to figure out if she was joking or serious.
After a long pause, she finally asked, "Are you serious?"
"I know I should have told you this before, but I didn't know you'd find your dragon first... Follow me." saying this the blonde haired woman turned, and without a word, Trinity obliged.
Her grandmother also followed them into the guest bedroom; again. The others sat on the sofa, still shocked that witches were alive. They all had thought that the existence of these covens were nothing but myths.
Dorin took out some old books and scrolls and put them in front of a very confused teen. She looked through the book first, but couldn't understand a word that was written on it.
"In the beginning, there were four witch covens, ruled by four sisters. The eldest was Alexandra, Second was Amelia, than Amyra and the youngest was Ashaya," Dorin explained. "It was believed that they could only bare one female offspring, who would later take over as the leader of the coven from their mother, since the father of that child is killed as her first offering to the demon and to secure her place as a witch. We're the direct descendents of Alexandra; the most powerful witch and the ruler of the largest coven."
"So... I was supposed to be a witch?" Trinity asked.
"Yes."
"So... if I were a witch, how would I have known that I'm a witch?"
"You would have turned... I mean gained your powers at eighteen."
"Did my dad know about all this?"
"When I met him, I didn't know he was a dragon... Well he did casually mention it a few times but i didn't believe him, and I didn't tell him about myself because... well I didn't want him to think I was crazy. It was only after you were born that we got to know each other's truth... which was part of why we parted ways. He wanted you to go with him to the volcano, while I wanted you to stay with me 'cause deep inside, I knew you would be a witch."
"Mom, could you use your powers to locate someone's whereabouts?" Trinity asked, as a plan popped in her head.
"Yes. Why do you ask?" Dorin replied, a little stunned.
"How does it work? Like what do you need to locate someone?"
"Something that belongs to the person being searched!... well and some other small ingredients."
"I'll be back," Trinity said, leaving the two women.
"Mom, if she doesn't get her powers as a witch on her eighteenth birthday, will that mean that our bloodline will die?" Dorin asked, looking at the older woman.
"Haven't you noticed something different about her," Meredith asked her daughter.
"What?" Dorin asked, shaking her head.
"She's become stronger that before. She's learnt to stand up for the people she loves and she's no longer afraid to speak her mind," her mother replied.
"Remember yourself; the changes before you became a witch? Notice any similarities?"
"But mom-" "Mom, granny, he needs to fine someone called Mr King," Trinity cut in, as she walked in with Tyrone.
"Do you have anything that belongs to him?" Dorin asked him.
"Well... I don't, but maybe you can help by seeking out the memory of the place they met him last?" Tyrone suggested, gesturing to the room where the humans were.
"That will take some time as their memories can be a little distorted, since they are unconscious."
Tyrone nodded, and excused himself while Meredith, Dorin and Trinity went to the kitchen. Dorin grabbed some things and than they went to the study. Meredith helped her daughter mix some ingredients together in a bowl, and apply some oil on Eric's forehead, all while chanting in some other language, that flew above Trinity's head.
Dorin put her palms on Eric's head, and the other woman began making some marks on his forehead, still chanting, while Trinity stood near the door, watching.
She tried to remember where she'd heard the name 'Alexandra'. Wasn't she the witch who cursed Ryphonsus, the first dragon to take human form? It was because he killed her daughter... so how was it that they were the descendents of Alexandra? As her mind raced to find answers, she remembered that she was the most powerful witch, so she must have resurrected her daughter.
"Rin? What are you thinking about?" her mother's voice snapped her back to reality. "I've been asking you to call Tyrone for the past five minutes!" She was still standing where she was before, and her grandmother was near the girls.
"Oh...um... I...I..." "Go."
Trinity disappeared, and reappeared a few moments later with a Tyrone. "Did you find anything?" he asked, as he went near Dorin.
"Yes!"
