"Little Xi, look out!" Li Lingmeng saw the person who had opened the door was obviously not someone with good intentions and panicked immediately. Her face paled and she threw her box to the side. She didn't care about her cakes at all as she pounced in front of Wen Jiexi. 

Although Xue Mo Lin's expression changed slightly, she was much calmer than Li Lingmeng. Instead of throwing the cake box in her hand on the ground, she used it as a weapon, hit the two men in the face, and used that moment she bought for herself to run over to Wen Jiexi.

Unfortunately, the box was easily slapped to the ground by one of the men, but it did manage to slow one of the men down, 

"What the-" Wen Jiexi's eyes widened and her mind moved quickly. Her body reacted just as quickly and she squatted down. The best choice right now is to avoid their reach! 

However, the other man seemed to have expected Wen Jiexi to do so and quickly whipped out a kick as fast as lightning. It seems that they have received information ahead of time that told them about Wen Jiexi's martial art skills as they attacked with no reservations. 

She saw the kick out of the corner of her eye and then she looked at Li Lingmeng and Xue Molin standing in front of her. They were in her way, so she couldn't do anything drastic. Even if she pushes them away, it would be too late. The best thing to do is to jump up and avoid the block. However, even if she avoids the kick by jumping into the air, they will easily catch her mid-air. And from the movements of the other men in the van, they were obviously trained fighters. In that case….

A cold light flashed in Wen Jiexi's eyes. Although she didn't know who the other party was, there is no doubt that they are trying to kidnap her. That means they are not good people and….they have underestimated her.

The person next to him was confused for a second and tried to pull back his partner's leg, but no matter how hard he pulled, the other would not let go. One must know that the other party is just a girl…and she is only using one hand! 

It was like they had met a formidable opponent! The two men understood they had failed, both losing the advantage of the surprise ambush and having underestimated their opponent. They have to leave now, or else they will only become a liability. The untrapped man took out two knives hanging from his belt and they gleamed brightly in the sun. With one facing Xue Molin and Li Lingmeng and the other facing Wen Jiexi, he slashed forward without hesitation.

"Wen Jiexi's face darkened, she did not expect the other party to have a weapon. No, now that she thought about it, they're trying to kidnap her, why wouldn't they have a weapon on them? However, they sure are ruthless. They're attacking an unarmed opponent with all their strength. That means….she does not have to hold back here….

Wen Jiexi made no moves to dodge the attack and simply raised the hand holding the other man's leg, using the leg as a shield.

The knife slashed deep into the man's leg without stopping. It even went into the bone! And from how the man's expression didn't even change, one could tell that the two men are only temporary workers that were hired as hitmen. The man should've been able to easily stop his knife but he didn't even try to, which really surprised Wen Jiexi. 

"Fu*k!" The man whose leg she was still holding cursed loudly and glared at the other man, but he didn't say anything else as he knew now was not the time to complain. They needed to escape first, then he'll curse his partner all he wants later. 

"Let him go, or I'll forcibly separate him from you by cutting off his leg." A hoarse voice sounded from behind the cloth mask and the man raised his knife again. 

"Strange, aren't you two together? You're actually using your partner to threaten me?" Wen Jiexi looked down at the bloody leg in her hands. The blood flowed freely from the wound and even dripped onto her hand, covering her with its sticky red substance. If it had been Wen Jiexi from the past, she would've let go immediately but after all that she had gone through, this much blood did not make her nauseous anymore. 

"Are you serious? You're the ones trying to kidnap people in broad daylight and you tried to stab us with a knife! Now you want your victims to let you go? Do you think you're a king or something?" Li Lingmeng shouted in disdain as she raised her bag as a shield in front of her. 

"Heh." The man only snorted coldly in reply. 

"What are you trying to do?" Wen Jiexi tensed her muscles, preparing for an attack on Li Lingmeng or Xue Molin from the man. 

"Tsk, tsk, I didn't expect that so many interesting variables would arise from what was supposed to be a simple job." The man didn't even flinch in the face of Wen Jiexi's anger. He flicked his knife, causing the blood on the steel to be flung to the ground. 

Wen Jiexi noticed that the only emotion she could see from the man's eyes was a cold bloodthirstiness. This type of man is most definitely the type to not care if his partner lives or dies. 

"I wonder what kind of image it'll be….a celebrity holding a broken leg." The man laughed harshly and then slashed down towards the man's wound again. 

The slash came down with no hesitation! Even if the man was able to get treatment immediately after, it will definitely leave some deep scars. Wen Jiexi's pupils shrink. She understood that this man is not the merciful type, no, he is an eccentric and bloodthirsty psychopath! 

Her hand moved to the side, allowing the leg in her hand to avoid the attack. The man's eyebrows raised. 

"Ai….in the end you're still only a weak and softhearted person…..but I hate this kind of useless softheartedness the most." As he said those words, the knife in his hand changed directions and stabbed towards Wen Jiexi. 

Shuaa! 

Wen Jiexi dodged to the side, but couldn't avoid getting a slight scratch on her cheek. Blood flowed down her cheek. 

"Fu*k! You psycho!" When she noticed that Wen Jiexi got hurt, Li Lingmeng's eyes turned red and she opened her bag to search for a weapon. Except for her wallet and mobile phone, everything in her purse, including her lipsticks, cosmetics, and even wads of cash was thrown at the man. Although the items had no lethality to them, it did make both Wen Jiexi and the man stare at Li Lingmeng in quiet astonishment. 

"Oooh, spicy~ I like that." The man slapped the lipstick flying towards him with an easy flick of his knife and then stabbed again, this time towards Li Lingmeng. 

"Little Meng!" Wen Jiexi shouted and then kicked the cardboard box beneath really hard, causing the box to fly in front of Li Lingmeng. 

Puchi! The knife stabbed through the cardboard box and Li Lingmeng fell down to the ground. The small knife had penetrated halfway through the box, and if the man had tried a little harder, Li Lingmeng would've ended up with a pile of blood on the ground. 

"Aiya, don't avoid me~ That's no fun." The man lunged forward once again but was stopped by the man whose leg was stabbed earlier. 

"Hey, what are you doing?!! Retreat! Driver, start moving! Let's go, hurry!" 

The van immediately started moving after the man shouted and the other man with the knife whined with dissatisfaction. He could only kick his partner and then bowed his head slightly to Wen Jiexi and the others, 

"I look forward to our next meeting." 

"Hey, you can't just leave!" Wen Jiexi supported the still trembling Li Lingmeng off the ground and then moved towards the van. 

"Ai, little girl, you really are an amazing fighter. However, with those two burdens holding you down, you won't be able to fight me with your full strength. Besides, if you fight me alone, you might not win~ But I have a hunch we will have our rematch eventually. I look forward to that day~" The man said these parting words and then shut the door close. 

"Damn it!" Wen Jiexi jumped and then slammed a hard punch onto the van. 

Bang! 

The van shook violently, but was overall unaffected and quickly drove away. 

Wen Jiexi watched the car disappear down the street and then looked at the mess on the ground. From the other side, many onlookers stared at them with incredulous expressions. Wen Jiexi paid them no mind as she squatted next to Li Lingmeng. 

"Little Meng, can you still walk? Are you okay?" 

"I'm fine, I'm fine. My body's strong, how could something like that hurt me." Li Lingmeng waved her hand and then jumped to her feet to show that she really was fine. 

"Let's go. I took a picture of that van, so I got all the evidence I need. But, Jiexi, that was too impulsive of you just now. If the van was moving, and if you had punched it like that, things would've gotten ugly." Xue Molin no longer wore a smile on her face and her eyes were cold as she looked at the photo on her phone. Then she looked at the slight redness and bruising on Wen Jiexi's hand and frowned. How was she going to explain to Little Su later about her lover's injuries? 

"Why did those people come after me? I don't remember offending anyone." Wen Jiexi frowned as she held the shivering Li Lingmeng. 

"You might not have offended anyone, but a kidnapper needs no reason to kidnap you. Anyhow, I have a good idea who sent those people…." Xue Molin said as she rubbed her chin. 

"It must be the Feng Family! Only they would use such a dirty method! Do they think we're that easy to bully…." Li Lingmeng began but was cut off by Xue Molin, 

"We have to leave now, or else we'll be surrounded." Xue Molin looked over at the crowd of people who were walking towards them due to the pool of blood on the ground and the blood still on Wen Jiexi's hands. No matter how you look at it, if someone decides to post photos of this online, it will only be detrimental to Wen Jiexi's reputation. 

"Got it!" Wen Jiexi nodded and quickly picked up the boxes for the ground. And so, the three of them fled the scene in a hurry. 

At the same time, on the other end, Su Chenyu's cell phone has been constantly vibrating with messages. Standing to the side, Wang Anyi looked at the phone with hesitation. She did not open those messages, as she did not want to deal with the mess that is Su Chenyu's personal phone anymore. 

However, it seems the other party only grew more panicked when she did not reply and started making calls instead. Wang Anyi looked awkwardly at Su Chenyu who was still filming and then looked at the other actors who were staring at the constantly vibrating phone. In the end, she could only grit her teeth and picked it up. 

When the call was picked up, a breathless female voice sounded immediately, 

"President! Just now….." 

"Ah…sorry, but Little Su is filming right now and cannot answer the phone." Wang Anyi interrupted quickly. She did not want to end up hearing something she wasn't supposed to know. As for this woman addressing her as "President", she didn't think much about it. After all, with what she knows about Su Chenyu's family matters, it wasn't unthinkable for Su Chenyu to be the President of some company. 

"You are…Wang Anyi, Wang Anyi, right?" The other party had spoken to Wang Anyi before and immediately recognized her voice, "I'm really sorry, but I have urgent news to report. Please put the President on the phone for me, can you help me?" 

"This…." Wang Anyi started awkwardly. As an agent, she really can't barge onto set and stop the shooting. Not to mention, that would only reflect poorly on Su Chenyu's reputation. Besides, this is the last scene and everyone wants to finish it as soon as possible so they can go home already.

"Of course, I'll be happy to help." Wang Anyi nodded and sighed in relief. 

"The Feng family has made a move. Their target this time was the missus, they tried to kidnap her." 

The phone hung up immediately, leaving a shocked Wang Anyi to stare at the phone in disbelief. She wanted to call back and ask for clarification. A kidnapping….what kidnapping?!!! 

"Sister Wang, what's the matter? Your face looks rather pale." Lin Yunxi had gone to the bathroom and saw that Wang Anyi's expression wasn't right, so she asked cautiously. 

"Ahem….Yunxi, give Su Chenyu this piece of paper and her phone in a second. Remember, the moment Su Chenyu finishes her scene, you have to immediately give them to her. Even if she wants to go talk to Director Peng, you must go up immediately so that Little Su will see the content of this note as soon as possible." Wang Anyi took out a piece of paper from her pocket and wrote three sentences on it before folding it in half and handing it over to Lin Yunxi. 

"I have to fo now, but you have to give this to her! Got it?" 

"O-Oh, I got it…." Lin Yunxi scratched her head in confusion as she watched Wang Anyi rush off quickly. What happened while she was gone? 

About half an hour later, when the scene finished, Lin Yunxi immediately rushed forward. 

"Little Su, you did very well today and even better than usual. Are you feeling good today or something?" Director Peng stopped Su Chenyu quickly and said with a smile. 

"It's nothing, I'm just in a good mood today." Su Chenyu shook her head and said humbly. She couldn't exactly admit to him that she was in a good mood because she wanted to go eat snacks with her lover later. 

"But the way, the screenwriter of this play says he wants to come and take a look tomorrow. It's not a big deal or anything, but I'm just giving you a heads up." Director Peng said offhandedly as he stretched his limbs. 

"I see, then I'll be leaving first. Please take care of yourself, Director Peng." Su Chenyu nodded and then walked away quickly. 

"Aiya…..young people nowadays are always so quick to fall in love and become so infatuated~ At least she's not ignoring her work because of it." Director Peng rubbed his beard in contemplation as he walked over to the resting area. 

"Sister Su, this is for you." Lin Yunxi was relieved to see that Su Chenyu finally separated from Director Peng, and quickly stepped forward. 

"What's wrong? Where's Sister Wang?" Su Chenyu raised an eyebrow and asked.

"I don't know, she left in a hurry, but told me to give you this immediately." Lin Yunxi scratched her head and said.

"Is that so?" Su Chenyu opened the note and read the cursive writing on it. 

Suddenly, everyone in the studio realized that the atmosphere had turned frigid, dropping by a few dozens of degrees. It was like a winter storm had arrived and the bringer of this winter seemed to be in great distress. Everyone stopped talking and looked over fearfully at the person in question. 

"Let's go." Su Chenyu exhaled heavily and then walked out with a cold face that could freeze even the warmest of summers. 

"W-wait, Sister Su, you haven't changed out of your costume yet!" Lin Yunxi called out quickly.

"I will return the costume tomorrow, I have something urgent to attend to." Su Chenyu replied back in a heavy voice. 

When the two finally left and the tension eased, everyone else in the studio breathed a sigh of relief. 

"Phew….did something happen? Goddess Su was so scary just now." 

"Could it be that something happened at home? But there isn't anything on the news about it?" 

"Who knows? Just mind your own business, don't stick your nose into other people's." 

Lin Yunxi chased after Su Chenyu with a mind full of confusion. What is going on? Why is Little Su like this all of a sudden? 

"Yunxi, you go back first, there are some things I need to take care of." Su Chenyu paused her walking for a second before speeding up again after speaking. 

Lin Yunxi: What? Are you just abandoning me like this? QAQ 

"Spit it out. How is Little Xi?" Su Chenyu made sure no one was around as she pulled out her phone and started calling her subordinate. 

"The missus is okay, she fought off the people who tried to kidnap her." The female voice quickly replied. 

"Didn't I tell you to keep an eye on their movements 24/7? What are you doing?" Su Chenyu spat out her words harshly. Whenever she thought about the possibility of her little sheep getting hurt, it felt like her sky was falling. 

"My apologies, President. We thought they would only drive by but did not expect them to go for the missus. It seems that the Feng family also knows that their current situation is precarious. We have swallowed up most of their properties, so in their panicked states they wanted to take the missus hostage." The female's voice was full of regret and she apologized over and over again. 

"I don't want to hear any more excuses. I want you to speed up your work. By the end of today, I want the Feng family to be forced out of the major families' standings…no, that would be going easy on them, I want them to disappear from the upper society. I want the Feng family to no longer be able to cross the street without being hated more than a common rat on the streets. It should be easy for you to accomplish this, right?" 

"I understand, President. We will deal with this as soon as possible." 

"Also, send a few people to secretly follow Jiexi at all times. I don't want this to happen again." Su Chenyu said coldly. 

"President….Since the Feng family dares to attack the missus, what about your safety….."

"Send some people over to me and not just for me or Little Xi, but also send a few to watch over the safety of a few others. Pass this news to all major families and tell them to be on their guard." 

"I understand, I will do as you say." 

Su Chenyu hung up the phone, her face full of anger. Feng family…it seems she was too softhearted before. Since they dare to do this, since they dared to make a move against her lover, then they better be prepared to pay ten times the price! 

Opening the door to their room, Su Chenyu quickly made her way to the bathroom to wash her face and suppress the anger in her heart. At the same time, she also found the guilty Wen Jiexi really cute. The little sheep was clearly not doing anything bad, yet that appearance made her feel helpless.

Wen Jiexi, who was rummaging through boxes and cabinets, didn't notice someone approaching behind her.

She had asked the employee at the counter earlier and they clearly said there was one in the room. Why couldn't she find it? She bent down and continued searching without giving up.

"The first aid kit." Wen Jiexi answered subconsciously when she heard the question and then paused. Wait...this room belongs to her and Sister Su. So that voice just now…..Wen Jiexi slowly raised her head and turned around to see Su Chenyu standing behind her with her arms crossed. The expression on her face caused Wen Jiexi to stiffen as she smiled dryly, 

"Sister Su….w-when did you come back….."

"This is my room too, am I not allowed to come back? Could it be that you do not want me to come back?" 

Su Chenyu raised his eyebrows and said.

"No, no, no." Wen Jiexi shook her head sharply, then peeked up at Su Chenyu. She moved close to Su Chenyu, grabbed a corner of Su Chenyu's clothes, and then said quietly in a coaxing tone, 

"I was wrong~ Please forgive me~ I can't hide anything from you~ Sister Su, please don't be angry~"
