What To Do If The System Forces You To Exercise

Wen Jiexi looked in confusion at the man in front of her. Who is this? He seemed a bit familiar as well…his eyebrows resembled someone she met before…

"That's Sister Heling's second brother, Chu He. He's an upcoming actor and he's considered to be an actor with 'gold star' potential." Li Lingmeng explained to Wen Jiexi and at the same time smiled at Chu He. Chu He nodded back in greeting and then glanced at Wen Jiexi. He also nodded to her and then finally nodded respectfully to Xue Molin. 

Wha….it's so nice to have connections. Wen Jiexi sighed inwardly. So this is Sister Heling's older brother. His eyebrows and eyes were similar to his sister's but the temperament was so different. One is a gentle and warm older sister while the other is a cold iceberg! Completely polar opposite personalities!

"Senior Chu….." He Yueyue forced out a smile. Towards this man who has earned the title of 'gold-star potential', she could not afford to provoke him. She opened her mouth to tell him that this is a personal grudge between herself and the little bi*ch, but the man did not intend for her to speak, 

"I don't care what your problem is, but your annoying voice is disturbing my concentration. If you want to talk, please go outside. The door is right there." Chu He said coldly.

"M-My apologies…" He Yueyue bit her lip and she dropped her eyes in an aggrieved manner. There were even some tears on the edges of her eyes. Although her slightly above average face was created through heavy amounts of makeup, after shooting three different films, she understood what her true advantage was. This kind of wronged and pitiful expression is perfect when dealing with a man as it tugs on their desire to protect the weaker sex. Sometimes it can even seduce the man and make him fall madly in love with her.

Unfortunately for her, Chu He's background is not easy. He's faced plenty of women who wanted to take advantage of him, and some even dared to try to climb into his bed. The auditions moved slowly and the crowd thinned one by one. No one had any idea what the results were as those who finished the auditions did not come back to the thatched hut. The little hut soon became empty until there were only two or three people left. 

Wen Jiexi already knew she would be one of the last and so she wasn't anxious. However, He Yueyue seemed to get more impatient as the number of actors dwindled. She bit her lip constantly and kept walking around, stomping her feet and causing everyone else's mood to drop. She received a lot of unpleasant gazes but the annoying woman did not seem to notice as she was preoccupied with her own selfish thoughts. 

"Wen Jiexi." 

Finally, her name was called out and Wen Jiexi hurried forward.

"Here."

"Follow me." The man nodded in greeting. 

Wen Jiexi was taken to another thatched hut. On the way, she didn't see any of the other actors who auditioned earlier. Did all of the actors run away to hide somewhere? Why was there no one in sight? 

The man opened the door to the new hut and asked her to enter. Unlike the dark room she had auditioned in for her first film, this place was a calm and bright space. Then-

Ehhhhhh? In front of her is the famous Director Peng, sitting in a plastic chair, and beside him is the woman she had dreamed of all day and night, her Sister Su. Next to Su Chenyu was a handsome and reserved man, probably the male lead for this film, a veteran actor named Duan Feiyan. 

Wen Jiexi could imagine the shocked expressions the previous actors must have had when they walked in to find the three biggest players in the film were all sitting on plastic chairs as they looked on with emotionless expression.

"Ahem, this should be the last few." Director Peng coughed a few times, took a sip from the water bottle next to him, and cleared his throat. There was nothing in his expression that gave away his thoughts about the previous auditions and he also looked blankly at Wen Jiexi. However, Su Chenyu gave Wen Jiexi an encouraging nod when she came in and Wen Jiexi felt her heart soar. 

When she looked over at Director Peng, her eyes were bright and she looked like she was injected with chicken blood with how energetic she was, 

"Hello Director Peng, I am Wen Jiexi." 

This straightforward self-introduction that did not waste time wading in mud and water made Director Peng nod in satisfaction. Usually, most newcomers would try to flaunt their accomplishments and experience in front of him, when really he just wanted to see them act. He always felt like beating someone up when they wasted his time like that. What he wanted to know was not your life experience by whether or not you are qualified for this role. Even if you won a lot of awards, it wouldn't matter a bit to him. If he thinks you're good, then you are good. If you're not, then you're not qualified. Simple as that. (T/N: wading in mud and water (idiom): dragging out your words, useless words) 

And so Wen Jiexi's introduction was in line with Director Peng's preferences and that energetic appearance is what Director Peng likes to see the most in young artists. Previously he had a slightly negative impression of Wen Jiexi because of He Yueyue's antics, but now his impression of the girl changed for the better. 

"Start your performance." Director Peng waved for her to begin. 

Huuu…..Wen Jiexi exhaled slowly, closing her eyes and then opened them again. When her eyes opened again, her expression, gaze, and entire temperament had changed. She had become one with her character. 

The scene she chose was not a part where it required many lines from her, but it is the climax of the play. In this scene, the relationship between the male and female leads are finally revealed. In this scene, the two leads meet in a hidden spot but their rendezvous point was revealed to their enemies by an inside informant. At his time, Li Yung dutifully guards the entrance of the cave and refuses to let anyone in. 

When the male and female leads finally come out, they find her swaying on her feet and covered in blood. Countless bodies from both the righteous sect and the demon sect laid around her. From this one could tell that both sects had worked together to try and kill the male and female leads. 

Yet Li Ying had brandished her long sword, swearing on her life that she would not let anyone get past her and lay their hands on the two leads. Her body fell forward and landed stiffly on the ground. Her life and death are unknown. 

"I'm done." Wen Jiexi jumped up from the ground, patted the dust on her body, and smiled shyly at Director Peng.

"Hmmm…" Director Peng touched his chin, and looked Wen Jiexi up and down with an expression Wen Jiexi could not read. That made her nervous and anxious and she clenched her hands behind her. Her eyes drifted towards Su Chenyu involuntarily. 

You did well. You've made a lot of progress. Su Chenyu's eyes expressed those thoughts as she looked at Wen Jiexi encouragingly.

"Yes, I think it should do. It's much better than the previous actors who auditioned for the role of Li Ying earlier. With your acting skills and temperament…you should be suitable for this role." Director Peng finally nodded. Just now Wen Jiexi hadn't even used a prop but with just a wave of her hand she was able to emulate a violent aura. This meant that her foundation is sound in the relevant aspects at least. 

"Really?" Wen Jiexi said excitedly. Since she was one of the last few actors and the previous actors didn't look like they were here to audition for Li Ying (based on the clothes they were wearing), that meant she got the role. Although Director Peng may have only said why he said to give her a sense of hope, Wen Jiexi was quite happy. At least this meant that her acting skills are passabel in front of Director Peng. 

"The temperament is perfect, but I wanted someone who is taller than Little Su. I thought that would suit the character more." Director Peng said with a shrug. 

It's true. A bodyguard taller than the person they are protecting often gives off a more protective air. If the height is shorter, it feels unconvincing and the roles feel like they should be reversed. 

However….would she fail here because of her height?!!! Wen Jiexi looked over at Su Chenyu with a gaze that clearly was crying out for help and it made her look rather pitiful. 

"Pfff….Director Peng, you're scaring the little girl." Duan Feiyan's lips parted as he revealed a gentle and helpless smile.

"Hey, I didn't say it wasn't ok." Director Peng curled his lips and spat. Suddenly the gentleman from before was replaced with a scoundrel. Wen Jiexi just stood there blankly. The image of Director Peng in her mind of a serious gentleman has completely disappeared. 

"Don't bully her." Su Chenyu looked at the two people beside him and said lightly.

"Heya~ Little Su actually can say such things." Director Peng raised his eyebrows with a surprised look on his face. Out of the dozens of actors just now, no matter how famous they were, Su Chenyu would not say a thing. This entire time, it's been just the two men talking between them. 

Now she actually opened her mouth for this little girl. This little girl hasn't even been in the entertainment circle for half a year but within a few months, she captured the attention of the nation's goddess. There have been rumors circulating on the internet that the little newcomer and Little Su are in an ambiguous relationship. At first, they thought it was just some rumors, but seeing Goddess Su's current attitude….it made them realize that the Goddess really did feel differently towards this newcomer. 

Duan Feiyan and Director Peng were part of the group who did not believe it at first. Meanwhile, somewhere in the distance, Wang Anyi suddenly shivered. She rubbed her arms. Why had she felt a strange chill go down her back? 

The three of them decided to wait in the company's car and then two hours later, when Wen Jiexi was starting to fall asleep, a gentle knock sounded on the car window. 

Rubbing her eyes, Wen Jiexi opened the door to see u Chenyu standing in front of her. 

Su Chenyu's eyes lit up the moment she saw her and she gently touched Wen Jiexi's cheek. 

"Sister Su…" Wen Jiexi called sweetly.

"Do you mind if I come in?" Su Chenyu smiled.

"Not at all!" Wen Jiexi hurriedly let Su Chenyu in and then closed the door. 

"Oh, Little Su…why are you here?" Xue Molin raised his eyebrows in surprise and turned her head away from the TV. 

"Sister Wang and Yunxi went on ahead to reserve a spot at the restaurant. You don't mind if I take a ride with you guys instead, right?" Su Chenyu didn't hesitate as she directly sat on the seat that had originally belonged to Wen Jiexi, and then pulled the other person into her lap. 

Li Lingmeng: Oh, another unexpected helping of dog food. 

Xue Molin: Where's my Little Yiyi! How can she leave me behind? Even if you're going to book a reservation, at least take me with you! Aren't we both agents! Agents are supposed to stick together! 

Wang Anyi: Take this job more seriously! Ugh! 

"No problem at all. Just tell us the address and we'll drive over there now." Xue Molin pressed the buzzer next to her to communicate with the driver.

The car quickly drove away. However, none of the people in the car noticed the person hiding in the corner with a twisted smile on their face as they looked at the phone in her hand. On the screen were pictures of Su Chenyu knocking on the car window, talking to Wen Jiexi and then finally getting into the car. 

If Wen Jiexi were here, she would immediately recognize this person. It was none other than He Yueyue, the person who kept targeting her for no reason. 

The woman looked at the photos with a cold smile in her eyes. 

"If these photos are posted on the Internet….they will definitely cause a sensation. Hehe, since you dare to offend me, I will not pull my punches. If I were to leak these photos to the media outlets, things will get interesting…and the money…." 

Although her main purpose is to still slander the little bi*ch.
