Villain's Valor: A Noble Fantasy Resurrection

Chapter 289 Languages of the magical world

"Welcome," a voice as delicate and soft as the flutter of a butterfly entered my ears. Looking in the direction it came from, I saw a beautiful woman. She was wearing the academy uniform, but with the detail that her tie was red, which meant she was in her final year—a student who was about to graduate from this place, which meant she was not just any woman.

Showing my respect, I bowed my head slightly. "Good morning. I would like to know where the language section is," I said in a slightly loud voice, not without reason. She was in a very high place, about ten steps above me. Just to enter this place, you have to climb a lot of stairs. After finishing the climb, huge stone doors will welcome you, opening on their own for some reason. I suppose it has to do with some magic I couldn't detect.

The young woman had pale pink hair in a bob style that reached only her shoulders, and her eyes were a beautiful deep blue. She smiled. "The language section is in S-2805." After saying those words, she took some stones from the counter—or so I assumed. "With the help of this crystal, you won't get lost," she said with a small laugh. The crystal floated towards my hands, and I looked at it superficially. When I raised my head, the woman was no longer there.

"Strange," I thought to myself. My senses were completely dulled in this place. Looking around, the interior infrastructure was made of wood, which shone subtly, along with some very rare but extremely valuable plants.

As I walked down the only hallway in my direction, my eyes widened. Thousands, maybe even millions of shelves with books were lined up vertically, and horizontally they extended beyond my sight. But undoubtedly, the most striking thing was the books—thousands of them floating in the air, as if they had a life of their own. Some of them seemed like birds flying through nature, spreading their wings and flapping as they disappeared into this place. In the ceiling, there was a huge crystal sphere that moved. The warm sunlight entered and penetrated through it. The place was completely silent. I could see some students reading at the different tables, or some simply sitting on the floor.

I must say that most of them were upper-year students. My eyes scanned the sections of the place.

Looking somberly at the section I needed to go to, I sighed. The expanse of bookshelves was too vast. "I think it will take me all day to get there." There was the option of using mana, utilizing the shadows of the place to move faster, but that option was forbidden here. According to the rules, outside mana could contaminate and deteriorate the thousands of books that were more than 500 years old in this place. Therefore, mana within the establishment was prohibited.

With no other options, I began to walk. It didn't really bother me; it could also be a way to better orient myself in this enormous space.

"I think it's been about six hours," I said, looking at the enormous ceiling above me. The sun had reached its highest point; it was noon, and I had come here in the morning. I muttered to myself.

Reading the title in my mind, I sighed. Almost halfway in six hours. There were very few students in this area. Most of them wore robes, some even glasses, all extremely focused on their reading. I subtly approached an open space, which had a small shop and resting area. To be honest, I didn't think it would be this big, and I didn't bring any food or water with me... so, I had no choice but to buy some provisions.

Sitting at a small table, munching on the meat sandwich I bought, accompanied by a drink, it was good...

I also had to eat in silence. The expectant gaze of the elderly woman there, watching for the slightest noise I might make, made me nervous. That old lady was a bit scary.

The sun at its highest point had disappeared, leaving a deep darkness. It was already night. Reading the title of the section, I sighed again. Twelve hours in total, twelve damn hours it took me to reach this section—half a day, literally.

And now I still had to find the language I was looking for. That was another thing to consider. Besides, the bookshelves were almost 20 meters high. Placing my hands on my face, I sighed again. "This place tires me more than a death battle." I don't know how many sighs I've let out so far, but it's been a lot. I don't want to get into the habit of sighing all the time...

My eyes scanned from left to right. The good thing is that the name of each section was written on them. This would save me a lot of time. But the end of the hallway seemed endless as I continued to advance. The sections of the place were divided; each section had about 20 bookshelves covering the topic you were looking for, and I was just at number one.

Frowning at the second part, I hadn't yet found the language of the high fairies. Thinking for a moment, I took out the crystal the receptionist had given me. Pressing it with a little force, a transparent screen appeared before my eyes. I could see two points in this section—one was mine, and the other I wasn't sure about. It could be another person.

Next to the image was a search area. Hesitating a bit, I decided to press it. It turned out to be like a search engine on a web page. Typing in "High Fairy Language," the image transformed and pointed to a location and a part number.

(Language: High Fairy)

(Difficulty: Very Hard)

(Part: 20)

With a smile on my lips, "Number 20, huh... Without a doubt, without this crystal, it might have taken me more than two hours to find it." Putting the crystal back in my pocket, I headed towards part 20. The crystal was a great help.
