Chapter 287 Experiments 2
**Day 2**
"Let's bet 50 gold coins," said Ema, watching her older brother with his eyes closed. She had a bright smile on her face. After seeing her brother's first pathetic attempt at transformation, it was hilarious to see the sickly wolf. His transformation only lasted a few seconds before fading into nothing, leaving his body utterly exhausted, panting with sweat running down his forehead. He had used up all his body's mana.
"I bet he'll fail again," she said confidently. Charlotte and Lysandra looked at each other and nodded simultaneously. Despite his first attempt being utterly pathetic, they decided to trust Anthony. After all, that was the job of a good wife, right? They watched as the same process from the previous day began. Fine darkness emerged from Anthony's body like thin matte black threads, enveloping his entire body.
After a few seconds, his new transformation finally came to light.
It was a sickly chicken, thin as if its flesh clung tightly to its bones, small in size with disheveled feathers, and quite amusing to look at.
As the days passed, they went to the training field and witnessed Anthony's failed attempts to learn to control his new ability. Each attempt ended in a terrible failure, which Ema took advantage of without hesitation, thus gaining funds for herself. Meanwhile, Charlotte and Lysandra had somber expressions, having lost almost all the money they could use outside the academy. They had tried to refuse Ema's bets, but in the end, they always ended up trusting Anthony and always losing money.

"Ehh... Don't you want to?" Ema's smile widened on her lips as she looked at the girls. They clenched their hands and finally fell for it again. They hadn't learned the trick. With hopeful eyes, they looked at Anthony, offering him their last vote of confidence after so many attempts. With a victorious smile, Ema nodded and looked ahead. The room's light was dimming as shadows began to move throughout the room.
Darkness emerged from Anthony's body like water and completely surrounded him. His body contorted and his height decreased. "So he's trying with the wolf," Charlotte said, crossing her fingers. After a few seconds, the image of a completely black wolf appeared before their eyes. The three opened their eyes in surprise. Ema felt a chill down her spine as she brought her hands to her face, falling into despair.
Bang!
The lower half of the wolf's body fell to the ground. The three were instantly confused. The wolf moved its two front legs, and they realized the transformation was another failure; its two hind legs did not exist, a deformation.
Charlotte and Lysandra sighed deeply. Finally, with empty eyes, they took out 50 gold coins and handed them to Ema. The little girl had a bright smile as she stored the 100 gold coins in her dimensional ring.
"Damn, another failure..." Anthony's tired voice was weak with great frustration, his brow furrowed deeply.

Days passed.
The beautiful black bird flapped its shiny black wings and began to fly around him. Anthony watched in shock. The bird was stunningly beautiful, the black mist it left in its wake always shining like a fading star. After a few seconds, the bird perched on Anthony's shoulder. Moments later, the little fairy swung her legs while humming a tune he didn't recognize. Anthony's red eyes looked at the fairy's innocent smile.
"How did you do it?" he asked incredulously. It was exactly what he had in mind. In fact, this idea had formed weeks ago, but he always failed before attempting it. Seeing the little fairy do it as easily as breathing left him speechless and a bit embarrassed. He watched with admiration as the fairy effortlessly performed the transformation. She looked at him with curious eyes and tilted her head slightly, clearly confused.
He remained silent again: "Of course, she can't understand me..." They stared at each other for a long time, thinking of a way to make his intentions clear to the little fairy. Finally, an idea occurred to him. He stood up and went straight to the section with books. He searched through various topics, finding a wide variety, but the most notable were the empire's history and its important figures. Anthony had ordered these books to read because, after all, information is also considered power.
Grabbing the book he was looking for, he sat down on the sofa again. The little fairy watched him with curious eyes, got off his shoulder, and looked closely at the book. Anthony smiled; she behaved like a little girl. Flipping through the pages, his eyes scanned the various animals depicted in them. The drawings were apparently handmade, with incredible details. There was also information about what these animals did, their characteristics, habitats, diets, etc.
Turning the page, he found the animal he was looking for. It was a black bird, but it had some different features from what the little fairy had created. Continue reading at My Virtual Library Empire
Pointing with his finger, he directed the fairy's attention to it. She looked intently at the bird, seemingly deep in thought. She put a finger to her mouth and looked at Anthony, confused, as if trying to guess what he was saying. Shaking her head, she indicated that she didn't understand.
They spent hours with Anthony tirelessly trying to make the little fairy understand what he wanted to convey. The scene was very comical, almost as if he were helping the fairy learn to read. The fairy's eyes were completely serious; if not for that, Anthony might have thought she was teasing him. Night fell, and finally, after much effort, he managed to get the fairy to transform into the bird.
"Can you teach me?" Anthony asked with tired eyes, reminded of when his mother taught him multiplication tables.
The fairy nodded with a big smile on her lips.
I guess all that effort was worth it.

Anthony stared at the ceiling, contemplating where he had gone wrong. In his line of vision, the little fairy appeared, crossing her arms in an X. She had a serious look on her face, as if she were scolding Anthony.
He smiled. "I failed again," he said with regret. The fairy nodded in agreement.
"Kyaa!! How cute!" Ema exclaimed with excitement, her eyes sparkling as she looked at the fairy.
