Valkyria Saga

Chapter 29: Destiny Child

{Date: 10/14 - Friday}

{Time: 11:15 AM}

The Valkyrie Skyline soared through the skies, piercing through the white fluffy clouds like a sharp blade through paper. Yusa, Orika, and I sat together at a roundtable within the aircraft, Yusa preparing to go over our plans during our Holiday Training.

"Alright, my beautiful Valkyrias, while we are up here, I will tell you who we're meeting up with. Firstly we will be meeting with some Ex-Syndicates Members and some members who were associated with Karma," Yusa began, setting her tablet on the table, showing pictures of a few women that I was not familiar with.

Yusa smiled at the old photo on the screen, humming softly at the old memories from 20 years ago. "Here's my good friend, Charlotte White. She's working alongside us Valkyrias with her organization Sanctuary Agency."

"Sanctuary Agency?" Orika asked, glancing at Yusa with a curious twinkle in her eyes.

"It's like... something like," Yusa began trying to find the best way to explain Charlotte's business. "So Charlotte owns a rent-a-girlfriend business named Maiden Sanction and her women are protected by her mafia and agency. The agency are the ones who regularly check up on the women and keeps them safe."

Yusa leaned back in her seat, smiling at the two of us. "Charlotte's Mafia is extremely powerful and due to her being very close to Shiro Moji, she has government officials on her side. She even has one of her rental businesses right in Shibuya."

"So why are we meeting with them exactly?" I asked, looking down at Genesis as I gently combed my fingers through her hair, styling it into a voluminous single braid.

"It's because she has a few allies who can help you two learn what it means to be a Valkyria. Those Ex-Syndicates Members I told you about are a part of her agency, but also her Ace will be with her as well," Yusa answered, a mischievous grin stretching across her lips.

I glanced at Yusa, wondering what she meant by Charlotte's Ace. I turned my gaze to Orika, meeting her gaze and noticing she was just as confused as I was. I looked back at Yusa, deciding to not question it for now.

"What else are we going to do at Destiny Islands? Isn't it an entire resort now or something?" I asked, looking back down to focus on finishing up braiding Genesis's hair.

"It is...kinda, I mean... It's one of the most beautiful locations in America and they do have many resorts there. It is registered to Hawaii now actually, so it could be seen as a resort. It's been 20 years..." Yusa rambled, droning on and on whether if she considers Destiny Islands as a resort or not.

'Holy Yapfest, I just asked two questions...' I thought, leaning back head back against the headrest of my rest.

Yusa noticed she was rambling, an embarrassed blush forming on her face then she cleared her throat. She let out a soft chuckle, shaking her head. "Sorry, I got carried away a bit, but I thought from aside from letting you learn from legends, we woukd come out here and have fun..~"

I looked at Yusa, seeing her usual warm, maternal smile and couldn't help but to feel warm and cozy inside. I let out a soft sigh and smiled back at her, giggling softly. "I guess it wouldn't hurt to try and have fun..~"

Orika nodded in agreement, sitting closer to me and gently pressing her shoulder against mine. "Yeah, and we're gonna have lots of fun together!~"

I smiled at Orika, nodding in agreement and let out a soft exhale. Despite going to the one continent that brought me great guilt, I felt a rare sense of enthusiasm not only for the training ahead but to spend time with my mother and soulmate.

The airline continued through the skies, a long trip still ahead of us as we travelled from Great Asia to New America. The ride there was very peaceful, filled with moments of laughter and old stories from Yusa about her past. Soon, we used the rest of our time on the plane to get some rest as we would be landing in New America within the next day.

{Date: 10/15 - Saturday}

{Time: 9:00 AM}

We finally arrived within New America territory, the pilot guiding the plane into Destiny Airport, guiding our plane to safety on the ground. Once we came to a stop, I looked out the window, noticing the familiar beauty of Destiny Islands.

Yusa stood up from her seat gracefully, putting on a pretty smile on her face. She grabbed her luggage and set it down on the floor, glancing at us. "Alright, girls...let us set out to meet our friends..~"

We nodded and got up, grabbing our luggage and began to follow Yusa out of the plane. Once we got outside, the autumn sun hit against our faces, the cool breeze whispering soft words in our ears. Ahead, a few people were waiting for us to approach.

"Ahh, well if it isn't the world renowned Angel of Death, Yusa Yukota," The woman clad in a white suit and hat said, approaching us with a confident smile on her face.

"Mmm, no need to use my titles, Charlotte..~" Yusa giggled softly, letting go of her luggage to embrace Charlotte in a tight hug.

Charlotte hummed as she was embraced by my mother, hugging her tightly and rubbing her back. "It's been so long...you've got to tell us everything."

I stared at Charlotte, analyzing her appearance with a curious gaze. I couldn't deny that she was impeccably beautiful, probably one of the most beautiful women I've ever laid my eyes on.

She had wavy blonde hair cascading down her shoulders, beautiful blue eyes, and a beauty mark under her right eye. She wore an white button up shirt with a light blue tie, white slacks and black shoes with her expensive white suit jacket drapped around her shoulders.

Orika noticed me staring at Charlotte, nudging me a bit with a hint of jealousy in her eyes. "Hisumi?"

I broke out of my trance, glancing at Orika and felt her chilling aura, letting out an embarrassed chuckle. I rubbed the back of my head, giving her an awkward smile. "Uh...she has some powerful energy..?~"

Orika puffed one of her cheeks out at me cutely, letting out a soft groan at me. "Hmph!"

{Orika's Mood: Jealous}

'Yeah, no shit,' I thought to Genesis, glancing at her with a side eye.

Genesis shrugged her shoulders, letting out a soft giggle. "Hey, I'm just letting you know!"

Charlotte let go of Yusa and let out a soft sigh, smiling warmly and noticing me and Orika behind her. "Well, well..~ You have a secret child no one knows about?"

Yusa turned around to look at me and Orika, letting out a soft laugh. "Well, not exactly. Charlotte, I already told you about Hisumi, my biological daughter. Meet my soul daughter, Orika Chiba."

"Ahh, it's nice to meet you, my name is Charlotte White. Welcome to Destiny Islands!" Charlotte introduced, holding her hand out for Orika to shake.

Orika awkwardly shook Charlotte's hand, letting out a nervous giggle, her gaze flicking over to me. I smiled at Orika, raising an eyebrow and wondered why she was looking so distressed.

"Is... something wrong?" Charlotte asked, her voice tinged with soft concern.

"Uhm...no..." Orika squeaked, speaking the only bit of English she knew.

Suddenly it donned on me, Orika didn't know how to speak English. I gently palmed my forehead, closing my eyes and let out a soft chuckle. 'Why didn't I think about this outcome..?'

{Orika's Mood: Embarrassed}

Charlotte let out a soft giggle and smiled warmly at Orika, clearing out her throat. "Is this better?"

Orika looked a bit surprised, not expecting Charlotte to know how to speak Japanese. "Wha— You know Japanese..?"

Charlotte nodded, letting go of Orika's hand and slipping her hands into her pockets. "Of course I do, I used to fight along side of Karma's old Leader, Naomi Haruna. She taught me Japanese and I just learned more from Yusa."

"Whoa..." Orika gasped in awe, a bright twinkle sparkling in her eyes.

The name Naomi Haruna rung multiple bells in my head, another legendary Destiny Woman of these islands, specifically the Sanctuary Island. I couldn't help but to think about just how powerful my mother's influence actually was taken the history of the top women of this location and the location itself.

As I was listening into Charlotte introducing herself to me and Orika, a flash of lightning crackled in my eye, a strong power level catching my attention. I became distracted, something that rarely happens to me.

'Who's energy is that..? This energy is...so chaotic like Leilani's,' I thought, glancing behind Charlotte and noticed two other people approaching us.

The first person was a handsome guy around my age with black hair and blue highlights in his hair, golden brown eyes, and a pair of blue stylish frame glasses on his face. He wore a white t-shirt with a blue hoodie, white joggers with intricate black designs and white shoes.

The second person was a dangerously beautiful woman with long black hair, dark golden eyes, and carried a mischievous grin on her face. She wore a long sleeve fishnet top with a spaghetti strap tank top over it, ripped black jeans, black combat boots.

"Hey, Char...how long is this gonna take? Who are we even—" The guy began, pausing in his sentence once he sensed my energy then glanced at me.

Charlotte looked back at the guy with a smirk, chuckling softly and looked ahead at me. "Ryder, Desiree, my beloved...meet Yusa's daughters, Orika Chiba and Hisumi Nomura. Hisumi, Orika, meet Ryder and Desiree Dawn."

"So it is you. The killer of my half-sister's cousin! Foolish of you to show your face around here, Black Cerebral!" Ryder called out, immediately getting on the defensive and a faint glow began to shine on his shoulder.

I grunted softly, not expecting his outburst so suddenly. My body immediately got into fight or flight, choosing fight and taking on a defensive stance, lightning crackling around my body.

'This aura...it's mystical yet demonic. Esoteric Energy, how does this guy contain such rare energy? And did he just say half-sister...?' I thought, trying to figure out who Ryder actually was.

"Charlotte told me that killing you was against the rules...so I'll make you pay by beating the very monster out of you! I've waited all night for this ever since your name was brought up! Nothing you say will help you avoid this fade," Ryder said, stepping forward and waited for me to respond.

I could tell Ryder was serious about fighting me here at this airport, the beast within me becoming more aggressive. I held my head, grunting softly as my mind began throbbing due to the Black Cerebral within trying to break out. I shook my head, patting my cheeks and opened my eyes with a serious expression.

"Alright, I'll fight you...but you're not fighting the Black Cerebral. You're fighting the Lightning Valkyria, The Honorary One, the New Hisumi Nomura!" I said, letting go of my luggage and stepped forward with a determined twinkle in my eyes.

Yusa noticed the twinkle in my eyes, seeing that I had gained control over the Black Cerebral so my Valkyrie could shine brighter. There was no Top Agent in her eyes, only the Honorary One.

{Spread Your Wings and Test Your Spirit!}

{Battle Location: Destiny Airport}

{Opponent: Ryder Dawn - C Rank Level}

"Here he goes...I tried to tell him that Hisumi is on our side, but he insisted that he gets his revenge for Leilani. He has his father's heroism, but also his father's tribal anger," Charlotte said, noticing energy walls shimmering into view to protect the onlookers from the battle.

"I know Hisumi is tired of repeating herself, and I know she's doing her best to change for the better. In a battle, the way you fight says a lot about a person. It's the one way to know if she's really healing," Yusa replied, keeping her eyes on the battle and watching me closely.

Without hesitation, Ryder sprinted toward me, launching a swift punch aimed straight at my face. I quickly evaded his attack, countering with a quick strike to his stomach. He grunted softly, staggering a bit as I struck one of his energy points.

I followed up with a clean uppercut to his chin, the force of my strike knocking him airborne. As he descended to the ground, I struck his stomach with a lightning enhanced palm strike, using a blast of lightning to knock him back.

Ryder grunted as lightning crackled around his body, causing him to fall down onto one knee. He stood up onto his feet, fixing his clothes with a soft scoff. "So what you landed a lucky shot...it's gonna take more than thunderbolts to keep me down."

I watched him closely, reading his body language to anticipate his next move. 'He tanked my Volt Strike pretty good meaning he has some serious endurance. He's also fast and seemingly well trained...'

Ryder stared at me with a serious expression, taking a deep breath and exhaled softly. He tossed off his jacket, letting it flow with the wind, his arms now exposed. "I may not have taken the Hawaiian Genes from my father like Leilani has, but I have my own unique...quirks..."

My body tensed at the increased intensity of Ryder's aura, my stomach coiling inside with a sense of unease. I could feel the hairs on my body standing, as if warning me about something...more.

"While I'm not a Tribal Leader-in-training like my half-sister, I am the other part of my father. Destiny's Hero and as the future hero that walks my father's steps, I have made it my first main mission to defeat you," Ryder declared, a blue Crest shining brightly on his arms.

"Now, you will see the power of my Crest of Talent and why I'm known as The Ace," Ryder said, his aura surrounding his body, shifting in different shades of blue.

His aura began to surge and pulsate around him, blue lightning crackling around his body. He stared at me with a serious expression, his mind seemingly clear. I could feel his increased power level, goosebumps crawling all over my skin.

"Behold, the ability that will defeat you...This is my Unleashed State, a form that rivals my sister's Tengoku Form," Ryder said, his voice dripping with calm confidence.

Orika was stunned, a moment from my battle against Leilani flashing in her head as she began to feel slight Deja Vu. "Unreal...his aura looks like Leilani's Tengoku Form..."

"That's the Destiny Child for you..~ He is Shiro Moji's son through and through," Charlotte said proudly, crossing her arms as she continued watching the battle.

Ryder got into his stance, dashing toward me, picking up a bit of gravel from his first stride. He rushed toward me at high speeds, launching a swift strike at me but I was already accustomed to such speed due to my battle against Leilani.

I evaded his strikes, launching my own attacks but he evaded and blocked each one with calculated steps. He threw another punch at me, but his attack met the air as I dodged. I grabbed his wrist, pressing upon one of his pressure points to control his body and speed.

'Although his speed and reflexes aren't on her level, I still need to be careful,' I thought, pulling him toward me then struck him with a knee to his stomach at near invisible speeds.

Ryder groaned as he was knocked away, rolling backwards along the ground then recovered upon one knee. He looked up at me, his heart thumping against his chest as he felt a spike in my energy. 'What the—'

"Get ready, Ryder Dawn. You're about to see what a Speedster can really do," I said, a smirk playing on my face, lightning crackling around my body.

Without warning, I vanished at near invisible speeds, rushing around him like a bolt of lightning, using my speed to overwhelm his senses. Ryder tried keeping up with me, but my speed was too much for him to handle, causing him to become dizzy.

Noticing him lose his focus, I took this moment to rush him with a barrage of Quick Attacks, each strike being delivered from all directions. Ryder didn't have any time to regain momentum from my onslaught of strikes, his foot now forced into the backseat as he tried to defend against my strikes.

'This chick is fast, but I can't let her get the upperhand!' Ryder thought, gritting his teeth then began to use his aura to deflect my strikes.

I noticed he was reinforcing his defenses with his energy, stopping my strike before it connected to his aura knowing that his aura was absorbing my blows. 'Clever...but I'm equipped for all situations!'

I let out a battle cry, surrounding my hand with Spirit Energy and struck his chest, using a Burst Strike to bypass his defenses. Ryder groaned as the impact of my strike sent him flying backwards, his back crashing into the energy walls behind him.

The crowd cheered in the background, enjoying the battle that commenced before them. Their cheers began to resonate with me, my heart beating faster due to the adrenaline rush.

Ryder grit his teeth, looking up at me with a furious glare. His energy began to darken, hints of black beginning to seep into his aura. He began to reach for his mask, preparing to go all out, but heard a snap echo in the air.

"Ryder, enough. You've met your match," Charlotte called out, stopping Ryder before he dared to take the battle a step further.

Ryder grunted softly, his inner desires telling him to reach for his mask, but due to his respect and love for Charlotte, he controlled his urge and powered down. "Fine...you win this time, Nomura."

My energy disappeared and I let out a soft exhale, glad that someone had stepped in before the battle took a different turn. 'He was reaching for that mask...I wonder what it does...'

"Well, that was a bit of a fun introduction, but how about we head to the house? The others are waiting to see you!~" Charlotte said, checking her phone with a smile on her face. "Let us hurry along, the others are already getting impatient..~"

Yusa watched as Charlotte walked ahead with Ryder and Desiree following behind her. She looked at me, watching me approach her then gently caressed my cheek. "I'm proud of you..~ You beat him without using any darkness. You're already on your first step to growing.."

I smiled at Yusa's praise, taking it all with gratitude. "Thank you..."

With that, Yusa, Orika, and I began to hurry behind Charlotte, catching up with her to make sure we didn't miss our ride into Destiny Central, the biggest and most popular city in the entirety of Destiny Islands. The excitement and nervousness within me and Orika only grew more as we didn't know what more would come.
