In an instant, I snapped out. 

My vision turned normal as my eyes returned to regular red and white retinas. My mouth is opened wide as my eyes try very hard not to believe the scene in front of me.

My breathing became uncontrolled, and my entire body began to shiver, especially my right hand.

My cursed… right hand… 

It was augmented with shadow magic and formed a shadow claw. Any amount of effort I put in, and it will be able to pierce anything.

Including… a heart.

She augmented her entire body with lightning magic and moved extremely fast to protect her uncle. Lightning magic was one of the fastest elements, hence she was able to move even faster than me for only a split second to position herself in front of me…

And protected her god awful fat uncle…

My right hand… has pierced through her heart.

My hand is shivering from having to literally feel the warmness of her chest. In front of me, Lemillia coughed blood as she stared at the hand that pierced her chest.

A tear fell down her eyes as she turned her gaze at me. As she forms a smile, her powerless body drops down to the ground.

"N-No… Lem..."

I'm still… shivering…

I followed her body and pulled my hand away from her heart. I immediately casted King tier healing magic on her, and her entire body glows like a lamp.

But… it's pointless. My healing magic… isn't strong enough…

"Ri... Ze..."

"N-No… No, no, no... This..."

I stared at the hole in her heart that I just made and tried to focus my healing magic even more. But, no matter how much energy I input, it just doesn't do anything. 

Instead, with what little energy she had left, she grabbed my right hand that is healing her heart and firmly held it.

The smile on her face tells me to stop, but I just can't...

"Rize..."

Shut up... Shut up, shut up!!

Tears dropped even faster from my eyes and landed on her hand that was holding mine. With a heavy pain in my chest, I let go of the healing magic.

She… can no longer be saved…

"Heh. I guess she really is useful for something."

Without even turning. Without even turning, I silenced him.

We can hear his blood and pieces fall to the ground, which surprised Lemillia.

"Why… did you kill him...?"

The smile on her face tells me she is happy, so I chuckled while holding back the anger and guilt inside of me.

I cried... even harder.

I wanted... to die.

I shouldn't have used this power.

Lemillia, with however much energy is left within her body, hummed as she gave my question a thought.

"Our times together… were not faked."

My eyes grew wider as tears fell even faster.

There is no saving her… it is too late.

She is a demon, and so she is an enemy.

Yet it felt… So much more painful than anything...

"Lemillia was real… Even though… it was faked at the start…

You… of all people… made it real…"

She continued with her mumbling, while I'm already losing my sense of sanity.

I don't know what is right and wrong anymore... I don't know if I myself am right anymore...

This world… What has it done to me…?

"I had so much fun... as Lemillia. It was fun... being with everyone... Ghuhkk!!--"

Lemillia's energy is draining even faster thanks to her talking. As a result, she began coughing blood.

And there is nothing I can do to save her…

I can only watch… as she slowly loses her life energy.

But, suddenly...

"Rize... Your dream..."

Immediately, I recalled the same memory.

I turned my gaze back to her and placed her hand on my right cheek. With a wide soft grin, I told her.

"My dream... is to come home... To my world."

"Your… world…? Ano… ther world...?"

"Yeah... Yeah, yeah, yeah! I came from another world! 

Everything is great there! You see, we have automatic vehicles, and electricity! As well planes that can transport people through the air from one continent to another!

We have smartphones where we can talk to people who are far-far away, and there's this cheeky little thing called social media where you can talk with people you have never met before without even meeting them!

And then there's-"

At this point, I'm not sure she can even listen to anymore of my blabbering. So I stopped, but in the end, she still smiled.

For the last time in her last moments… she smiled.

"I see... Must be... a nice world..."

"Y-Yeah... I-It really is."

"Maybe... the gods… will... let me... live there…"

"... Yes. They absolutely will."

I nodded as I gripped her hands harder while smiling as she slowly took one last breath…

Her hand immediately became powerless.

"L-Lemi... Lemillia?"

She… didn't respond anymore.

I closed my eyes as I gripped her hand even harder than before. I lifted her upper body using my other hand and placed her head next to mine.

She is… still smiling...

"No… please…"

Tears rushed down harder, and slowly became red. My eyes were so forced from the hatred boiling from my blood that it burned my eyes slightly and caused me to cry blood.

The guilt cursed my heart as I tried very hard to gasp for air. Lemillia's body is within my arm, but somehow she is already far away.

"GAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"

That night... was one of my worst nightmares.

I cried and screamed loudly that the entire ground shook. There was nothing I could do… but cry.

Even with all that strength… all that experience, all the talents and hard work I have put in to make sure I will never create a mistake…

I have made… the worst nightmare for myself.

I have killed… my own friend.

I kept on weeping as the flames around me burned down everything. The dark clouds finally disappeared, and the moonlight was dropped onto me. It brightened up everything around me, the destruction, the flames, the deaths, and the scene I am currently at.

I was so busy mourning and sobbing that I didn't realize the sound of footsteps coming.

"R-Rize?"
